MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

I am a bit panic here with this one, but still holding.

It has been disappointing today there`s no doubting that, but there`s also no doubting that there is more good news to come and share price will go to new highs .Keep the faith.

swseun, for Gods sake don't sell if you've just got in, no need to take losses as MMG will be rewarding. I've just sold a large part of my holding as I accumulated from 68-71p and thought about time I locked in profits and I did think (gamble) that there would be a drop eventually. 250p support has been exposed, I think IMO it could test 200p in the next few weeks and I will be back in as I also agree with Mitzy that this is a 5 share plus once you can add Ruthenium potential as fact rather than speculation. Hope I judge getting back in before the next push but I have a 20% cushion already on my selling price to buy back in at either 20% less cash for the same number of shares or 20% more shares for the same cash!! I didn't have MMG as one of my 3 tips for 2005 to desert just yet but I didn't expect almost 3 from genvax alone hence my "trading" gamble. When I bought at 68-71p I often saw 50p but held and got my reward but there is plenty of life in MMG sp, its only just begun!!

Remember folks.

A paper loss is only a loss when you sell.

Goldfinger, are you still in the Country?

swseun - 31 Mar 2005 23:57 - 988 of 2444

thanks for all the support guys, I would surely hold it. As seawallwalker said, a paper loss is only a loss when you sell. I was thinking to quit my job last week, luckly that I didn't. :-O

Is michel walters reports again tonight? I think the huge drop today due to end of year as well... shouldn't panic...hold hold hold

mitzy - 01 Apr 2005 00:32 - 990 of 2444

Yes I would imagine its due to the end of the tax year so no need to panic...the whole Aim market is on a downer at the moment so it must be due to current market conditions.

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 10:10 - 993 of 2444

I have left the room.

That means the price will bounce today

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 10:32 - 994 of 2444

hi, bhunt1910, so you believe it won't go to 200? :-)

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 10:58 - 995 of 2444

Gone

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 11:15 - 996 of 2444

may be I should improve my english :-) seawallwalker, did you mean you sold and left? I hope I am wrong

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 11:17 - 997 of 2444

Apologies.

I really did not need to be cryptic.

Yes I have sold with now a small profit.

mickeyskint - 01 Apr 2005 11:25 - 998 of 2444

SWW

You're as bad the the others from advfn, who you rubbished the other day. If you can't post something positive then don't bother. EK should be banned from the markets and so should shorting. It has a very negative effect. And don't give me the crap about alternative views.

Hi swseun - I can't be sure - and must confess that I have taken a punt on this one with a very small amount of money.

It seems to be holding - but I also recognise that this is a very volatile share with lots of potential and lots of risk attached. Not one to bet the mortgage on - just yet.

Interesting comments posted from EK courtesy of SWW - and of course he could be right

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 11:39 - 1000 of 2444

SWW, no need to apologies, everyone have own decision, i guess you will buy later on once the price stable, as we all know MMG has more potential than what having now. Only one thing I don't get is, if you recog it bounces today.. means rise up right? so why you..? just curious and it may be the tarading skill in stock market. Anyway, bhunt1910 and mickeyskint, I am still holding and even expecting for further down, I would buy more if it goes to 200p, but sure it will push up after all profit taking and tax stuff. Can tell that MM making the price so much down in propose for further rise in the next few weeks.

chad - 01 Apr 2005 11:43 - 1001 of 2444

Mitzy, when are we expecting the next lot of newsflow? Cheers.

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 11:43 - 1002 of 2444

MS sorry I have offended you.

Not intended.

Will not post here again.

On a postive note, the basics of the Company are not at fault, but it as well to know who is doing what.
