Dowgate Capital - Capitalising on the booming AIM market (DGT)

overgrowth - 09 Feb 2005 20:52

Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting in the middle of a goldmine!

This company through their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year. Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund placements on behalf of the companies they represent.

On first sight, the fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think again!

DGT bring new companies to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated" on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring income).

Because DGT also act as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work, they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash to speed growth.

Current NOMADships: 28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000 per year)

Current on-going Brokerage agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)

For flotations, depending on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000 to 100,000+ For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12% of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000 ! These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket. Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for years, with DGT having to do very little. New clients gained in 2005 are:

Mediazest (NOMAD & broker) Elite Strategies (NOMAD) Process Handling (NOMAD) Poland Investment Fund (NOMAD) Nanotech Energy (NOMAD & broker) Archimedia Ventures (NOMAD & broker) Red Leopard Holdings (NOMAD) Alba Mineral Resources (NOMAD & broker) Intandem Films (NOMAD & broker) Motive Television (NOMAD) IncaGold (NOMAD) Sportswinbet (NOMAD & Broker) Infoscreen Networks (NOMAD & Broker) Mark Kingsley (NOMAD & Broker) Croatia Ventures (NOMAD & Broker) Pantheon Leisure (NOMAD) Firenze Ventures (Ofex Advisor) FlightStore Group (NOMAD & Broker) Euro Capital Projects (NOMAD) Pearl Street Holdings (NOMAD) Worldwide Natural Resources (Ofex Advisor) Dovedale Ventures (Ofex Advisor) Other 2005 work completed:Neptune-Calculus VCT offer for subs of up to 12 million Advisory work for TGM on London Bus disposal for 20.4M Advisory work for Creightons on property disposal Advisory work for Hampton Trust on company restructuring Advisory work for Interbulk Investments on acquisition of Inbulk Advisory work for Fundamental-e Investments on two disposals Advisory work for Designer Vision re: Design Rights against Centurion Electronics

Gennellmen, and Ladeeez,
Nice to see real positive postings and speculation on interims and finals. don`t forget me earlier challenge for nearest `guesstimate` for finals gets a free round of golf at Northwood, in Middlesex. I have had 4 submittals so far from OG,PTH, SD and Eric and if a few more take a guess I will list out. If you want to see their estimates, refer to recent, earlier postings.
good luck and fingers crossed as this share has a long way to go and a lot more profit potential than most.

What's this, Snakey? Please tell me more - always up for a hack esp with PTH and Eric!

corehard - 05 Jul 2005 14:06 - 992 of 2787

Allez-oops !

predateur - 05 Jul 2005 14:08 - 993 of 2787

Thanks PTH and Eric, could be the most profitable game of golf I have played in a long time. Usualyy play for tea and teacakes, perhaps next time it could be for dinner and wine.
Markus, glad you are aboard.
Snakey, free golf at Norwood tell me more. Have clubs will travel.

Afternoon guys,

Been out having a hack, literally!!

Always nice to come home and see DGT on the move again. Also nice to see that the Golf Challenge has resulted in a few new faces on here. Welcome onboard Predateur and Markus (aka the shark). Hope we all have a profitable time with DGT. Considering the Interims are about six weeks away, this has along way to go yet. Bound to be some ups and downs, but I think it will be well worth hanging in.

Good luck to all

Snakey - I'd like to update my guestimate if that's in the rules to 700,000 net profit before tax for H1.

Andysmith - this is a framily thread - no four-letter words - like DEMG please (bought high, sold at the lowest point - lost lots - sore loser!) Luckily I put what remained of my cash in DGT!

Wonder where the MMs are getting all this stock from? Seem to have more than last Friday's activity indicated.

corehard - 05 Jul 2005 16:23 - 997 of 2787

Lots of buys in today... suprised not to see larger gain on SP!
Any reasons for this?

ptholden - 05 Jul 2005 16:25 - 998 of 2787

core

Agree, hence my question. Might be some delayed sells popping up in a while.

There's the first, that 500k T Trade @ 0.67p is almost certainly a sell.

Post 1000 of 1000!

Quite frankly very very surprised not too see more delayed sells after the bell. I wonder where the MMs are getting this stock from?
One of three scenarios:
1. Have more stock than previously assumed, although judging from Friday, doesn't seem likely.
2. Biggish sell being worked through.
3. Don't know if this is possible, but MMs selling stock they don't have in the hope they can buy it back later at a lower price to balance the book. If so, stand by for a shake in the next few days.
When all said and done, I don't think it really matters, DGT is obviously perceived as a good buy at the moment and will continue to be so, but fun to speculate!

Just had a quick peek at the chart. As sd intimated earlier, SP has made a double top today, so in view of comment 3 post 1000/1000, fall tomorrow and possibly the day after. Well, that's the theory, quite happy to be proven wrong.

On the bright side, Golden Cross inevitable now and nearly there!

pth - double tops tend to be accurate when they're fully formed, though I suspect that this will turn into a breakout instead.

Tomorrow should be an interesting day.

ptholden - 05 Jul 2005 19:47 - 1003 of 2787

just pontificating OG, just pontificating!

stockdog - 05 Jul 2005 20:12 - 1004 of 2787

pth/og - I don't think it's a double top unless it's an end of day d/t and the riight hand down leg is already formed - so I take this as a TST (triangular shaped thingy) or flag which will oscillate with ever narrowing tops/bottoms until it breaks up again.

Should be more upward fun tomorrow IMHO.

Please speak English, Stockdog - I haven't a clue what you're on about, mate? It sounds good though!!

ptholden - 05 Jul 2005 20:29 - 1006 of 2787

markus

It means this is going down to 0.30p first thingy tomorow morning and you won't have any money left which to buy more cheap Top Flite golf balls!!

pth

stockdog - 05 Jul 2005 20:31 - 1007 of 2787

well, that's maybe the difference between between your Latin heritage and my Anglo-Saxon - in the words of J. Caesar, "Dowgate too, Brute!"

If you want to see a reall double top look at SEY where a perfect start to yet another double top at 18.75p has just formed today - then off back to 14p double bottom - it's so regular it would make a good trading stock - in and long at the bottom out and short at the top - over and over again.

markusantonius - 05 Jul 2005 21:22 - 1008 of 2787

So what's gonna happen then, chaps? Reckon PTH is still sulking over the side bets which The Shark won off him during last month's Golf Event not to mention the morning Team Event and #2 Major Prize!!! BTW I only use Top-Flites in non-Comp rounds, Pete, or when I'm playing against hackers.

I put the money I won off you and the others towards a box of Pro V1's. Thanks for that, mate. Anyway the way you lose golf balls, Pete, I think we should have a whip round? We must have walked 10 miles the other afternoon zig-zagging the rough in search of your wayward balls, no wonder we were all knackered at the end!!

:o) :o) :o)

ptholden - 05 Jul 2005 22:00 - 1009 of 2787

Markus

What's going to happen?

My guess is tomorrow that it will either go up, down, or sideways.

Fair point about losing golf balls, but fortuntaely I didn't lose one on the 4th to cost me the AM Golf Challenge!!

Oh, and by the way, you still owe me a 1.
