MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

That means the price will bounce today

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 10:32 - 994 of 2444

hi, bhunt1910, so you believe it won't go to 200? :-)

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 10:58 - 995 of 2444

Gone

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 11:15 - 996 of 2444

may be I should improve my english :-) seawallwalker, did you mean you sold and left? I hope I am wrong

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 11:17 - 997 of 2444

Apologies.

You're as bad the the others from advfn, who you rubbished the other day. If you can't post something positive then don't bother. EK should be banned from the markets and so should shorting. It has a very negative effect. And don't give me the crap about alternative views.

Hi swseun - I can't be sure - and must confess that I have taken a punt on this one with a very small amount of money.

It seems to be holding - but I also recognise that this is a very volatile share with lots of potential and lots of risk attached. Not one to bet the mortgage on - just yet.

Interesting comments posted from EK courtesy of SWW - and of course he could be right

SWW, no need to apologies, everyone have own decision, i guess you will buy later on once the price stable, as we all know MMG has more potential than what having now. Only one thing I don't get is, if you recog it bounces today.. means rise up right? so why you..? just curious and it may be the tarading skill in stock market. Anyway, bhunt1910 and mickeyskint, I am still holding and even expecting for further down, I would buy more if it goes to 200p, but sure it will push up after all profit taking and tax stuff. Can tell that MM making the price so much down in propose for further rise in the next few weeks.

Mitzy, when are we expecting the next lot of newsflow? Cheers.

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 11:43 - 1002 of 2444

MS sorry I have offended you.

Not intended.

Will not post here again.

On a postive note, the basics of the Company are not at fault, but it as well to know who is doing what.

Edited previous.

In my opinion that it is as well to have a balanced view based on facts.

It is apparent that some do not want that, so that post from EK showing his reasoning and intent has been removed but not because I did not think it was balanced, just because it was not wanted.

If I buy back in, which is likely at some stage, then I will keep it to myself as I will any other trades I do. One thing I do not make a habit of, is buying at the top of a big rise. It usually goes backwards.

That will not stop me from posting news items.

Good luck all.

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 11:51 - 1004 of 2444

SWW, come on, don't blame urself, other investors won't sell theirs coz of your comment, isn't it? you've got right to tell and make decision. It is a shame if you leave here. :-(

mickeyskint - 01 Apr 2005 12:11 - 1005 of 2444

Apologies SWW, my posting was way over the top. I know that this stock is high risk and when I read EK was shorting (on advfn), well I thought that's the kiss of death. I'll have to learn to take the bad with the good. I do value your opinion and enjoy reading your postings and recipies. Please keep them coming good and bad.

PS. EK will catch a cold with this one.

LOL

SWW

As a piece offering keep your eye on GMC. It's a risk but could pay big time.
Sorry for the hijack boys.

seawallwalker - 01 Apr 2005 12:22 - 1007 of 2444

We're still fine MS.

Thanks.

I do not like shorters, but the reality is that they exist.

It is offensive to me that sometimes they can drive down a share, at least EK is up front about what he does and why, plus he is not always right!

Longer term, shorting now makes no difference except that there may well be another opportunity to buy at a premium, then again any announcement of postive news may make it difficult and expensive to get back in.

Thanks for GMC.

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 12:23 - 1008 of 2444

Ok let's forget all misunderstanding, we all lose temper somtimes anyway, isn't it MS? It always happen bt my gf and I, haha...
Selling price picked up a bit, what does MM want to do? um.... ;-/ any thought guy... SWW, MS?

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 12:27 - 1009 of 2444

from May to September would be quiet again in stock market, so I don't mind to hold it for long term even until next year, as long as it makes profit. am I right?

mickeyskint - 01 Apr 2005 12:31 - 1010 of 2444

Thanks SWW. Swseun, to be honest I don't know. But what I do know is that this has the potential to go through the roof. Untill we get more news it's going to be all over the place. Potential is the word and that's what's hard to value.

LOL
