I have cctv at home but it is not ANPR quality and therefore cannot record details such as a car index. When I bought the system the guy said to me that I could buy better quality, but it would come at a very high price. I imagine there is software out there that will clean up and enhance pixels, but free? I would be interested to find out also.

Surely the quality is in the camera. If the image is crude in terms of resolution then no amount of software magic will improve the info. Silk purse - sows ear.

Not my area of expertise, but I have two screens on my system - one far superior to the other. My wallpaper - a photograph uploaded from an old early camera phone, is far superior in terms of detail on the better screen.

Could the police assist, or is it only on something like 'The Bill' that they could tidy up cctv footage?!

I listen to the radio (BBC) online everyday. Today and yesterday, it sounds like it is slightly slow until after about 5 minutes its as if the vocals are gargling - almost as if there is a buffering problem. Any ideas?

BB - yes you are probably right as (I've just discovered) its not just the radio - a job for this evening.

Thanks Kim - all pretty obvious - something has obviously gone awry as I've been listening to the radio over the net for years.

I have an Acer Aspire 5742 laptop. It suddenly will not load an internet page. At the top left it has it has a power on blue light. Normally when the computer is on this light and another little blue light at the bottom near the left are on. Beside the turn on light I now have another flashing blue light which has never come on before and beside that another orange wireless/wifi light which is obviously meant to be there. Does anyone have any idea what this extra flashing blue light is

never had an acer but it sounds as if the internet connection has been lost, possibly the security number of the router may have been lost so check your wireless connections in control panel and try to get re-connected. If it's like my HP's the orange light will change to white/light blue when ok. Worth a look anyway. BB

Hodgins - I have an Acer 5742 and the blue light between the on/off button and the orange wifi light is constantly flashing. I don't think this blue light is your problem. The strength of the flash can vary from weak to strong and indicates something like a cylinder with a dot in the middle of it but I don't know what it is for.

A cylinder would usually indicate a disk access light.

Anyone know how to remove that pernicious " double click", without--
a) being re- directed to a worse site
b) having a " free" download which tells you you have thousands of ` problems` then demands cash to solve them
