Go to the top of your browser's tool bar:

Tools
Internet options
Programs
Manage add-ons

Look at 'Show: Currently loaded add-ons'

Have a look at them and make a decison about whether you can safely Disable some of the currently Enabled add-ons.
You do this using a Right Click to start with and then changing the parameter from Enable to Disable.

If there are lots of unnecessary add-ons running in the back ground your surfing will be utterly painfully slow. You should easily achieve some miraculous results by doing this.

skinny - 28 Jun 2012 10:12 - 9945 of 11003

And if you don't use IE - How to disable add-ons/extensions in your browser?

Balerboy - 28 Jun 2012 10:37 - 9946 of 11003

Thanks excec, have trimmed my ad on's down. Learnt something new.,.

The Other Kevin - 14 Aug 2012 09:33 - 9947 of 11003

I wonder why my Stockwatch streaming page has suddenly developed a habit of producing a heavy underscore under the figures as they change, usually in the same colour of the figure but not necessarily. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

moneye - 17 Aug 2012 09:30 - 9948 of 11003

I have a level2 subscription here and use laptop or desktop at home to view. Considering an i-pad to enable tracking while on the move. Does anyone have experience of how workable that is please.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 17 Aug 2012 09:36 - 9949 of 11003

moneye,

as the ipad does not support java, unfortunately, you would not be able to run any of our streaming services - level 2, stockwatch, trades etc.

Regards

Ian

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2012 09:42 - 9950 of 11003

moneye, if you just want a rough idea of what is going on with your Stockwatch, an iPad is fine, just turn streaming off and keep doing refreshes. Not perfect but useful nevertheless.

moneye - 17 Aug 2012 09:55 - 9951 of 11003

Ian, Thanks for response. Are there any plans to produce apps to suit.?

Thanks also kimoldfield.

Sequestor - 22 Aug 2012 14:41 - 9952 of 11003

When I move away, return or refresh, I am hanging around while a plethora of ads are loading. pub.ad,double click etc., now I don`t mind this if I am on a freeby but why should I have to wait for this crap to load when paying- and why should it hide on my disc- I have the usual ad busters in tow, but these particular ones seem to be a part of MAM which is inviolate, any clues?

Balerboy - 22 Aug 2012 21:20 - 9953 of 11003

Ian's got to get his pension fund up......he's getting to that age.,.

HARRYCAT - 22 Aug 2012 22:16 - 9954 of 11003

I am running Vista 32 bit with 3gb of RAM & Pentium 2.5Ghz processor and the wait time for MAM to load is usually within 5 secs. The Java banners are the slowest item. If you are having to wait then it may be your system which is having too much to do within a set period of time. Depends on what other software you are running and the processor speed/RAM etc. Assuming you are running broadband internet at a decent speed, modern web pages should load very fast now. My gut reaction is that it's your PC, not MAM site.

Sequestor - 23 Aug 2012 07:23 - 9955 of 11003

The problem is the number of ads being loaded along with the MAM pages they flash up on the menu bar MAM are obviously being paid to include them.

The Other Kevin - 23 Aug 2012 08:59 - 9956 of 11003

Just like newspapers and magazines are paid to publish advertisments. Seq. If you want an advert-free zone be prepared to pay more.

Haystack - 23 Aug 2012 09:05 - 9957 of 11003

Your page loading speed does seem poor. I load mam pages in under a second on my pc. It is about the same speed on agoogle tablet. It sounds more like broadband speed is the problem.

Sequestor - 23 Aug 2012 10:56 - 9958 of 11003

lol
I think I pay enough already not to have double click stealing my private info., I shall investigate another supplier who doesn`t use it, its a pernicious piece of privacy invasion- and its getting worse, time a new law was brought in allowing one to opt out of this type of intrusion.

If you refresh and watch the toolbar you will see how many other sites are loaded along with MAM I counted seven, all ad spies, and you can`t stop them,. I have tried
