Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Clocktower - 12 Nov 2018 16:31 - 9959 of 12628

After 40 years of marriage all kids will have long flown the nest and the why should the British pay any maintenance? Let them and all the hangers on support themselves. Get a grip and just leave them out to hang and dry. Not our responsibility. Just like Trump has had the balls to tell the EU countries to pay their way when it comes to defense. They are all a bunch of leaches.

Edging closer to exit date. Get feeling it wont happen as most MPs just don't want it to go ahead.

Dil - 12 Nov 2018 18:16 - 9961 of 12628

Suddenly realised we are going to leave have you Fred ?

A cross party whatever of a few MPs to deny the democratic will of the people , no thanks Fred.

Both main parties had Brexit as part of their manifesto at the last election , Libs had remain and got nowhere.

They need the 39 billion off us and a deal will be reached and then it'll be up to Parltament to either vote it through or let us leave with no vote.

Mrs May can't call a snap GE because it would trigger a leadership challenge.

Maybe if you and people like you had bothered to go out and vote Fred then Brexit may never have happened.

Stan - 13 Nov 2018 09:17 - 9963 of 12628

How appropriate Fred 😀

Dil - 13 Nov 2018 10:26 - 9964 of 12628

Don't tell me Stan , you didn't know what you were voting for at the last General Election so we should re run that too before we leave.

Stick to football , at least you know ..... on second thoughts forget that too :-)

Fred1new - 13 Nov 2018 10:36 - 9965 of 12628

Dil.

What exactly did you hope for, when you voted for "Brexit" at the time of the referendum?

Clocktower - 13 Nov 2018 11:16 - 9966 of 12628

Fred and Stan, ask yourselves:

Have the Channel Island suffered through not being fully signed up to the EU - do they have any problems with shipping goods either way?

Do the boarder checks work?
Are there any delays?
Do the Financial Service sector in the Islands not thrive because they are not fully signed up to the EU?

Dil - 13 Nov 2018 15:21 - 9967 of 12628

Free trade , end of freedom of movement and no direct rule from Brussels.

What were you hoping for by not voting ?

Fred1new - 13 Nov 2018 15:39 - 9968 of 12628

.

Fred1new - 13 Nov 2018 15:39 - 9969 of 12628

And what have you got?

And what do you expect to get?

Fred1new - 13 Nov 2018 15:39 - 9970 of 12628

.

cynic - 13 Nov 2018 15:45 - 9971 of 12628

seemingly we should expect dementia inspired posts in triplicate :-)

Fred1new - 13 Nov 2018 15:53 - 9972 of 12628

I am surprised you noticed.

Ask the carer to sedate you again.

cynic - 13 Nov 2018 15:54 - 9973 of 12628

i did, but i have to wait another 5 hours ..... such is the plight of NHS :-)

I know what Dil means.

Boris Johnson says Brexit deal will make Britain an EU colony

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May and the European Union are stage managing a Brexit deal that will doom the United Kingdom to the status of a colony, former British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said on Tuesday.

“No one is fooled by this theatre. Delay after staged managed delay,” Johnson wrote on Twitter. “A deal will be reached and it will mean surrender by the UK.

“We will be doomed to remain in the customs union and under Brussels’ regulatory control. People did not vote for colony status,” he said. “The future can be bright if only we change course now.”

so tell us what corbyn's deal would result in - assuming he can work out which horse he is backing?

Clocktower - 13 Nov 2018 16:18 - 9976 of 12628

When the great British Public voted to Exit the EU - the stock market took a pounding - for a day or two - then it rose and defied everything the remoaners had said would occur.

Expect the same again and within a week the Britsh will rise and meet and resolve any problems, moving forward leaving only the EU short changed due to their bully boy tatics.

As Corporal Jones would say "they don't like it up em"

Manuel,

Why don't you write to Corbyn and ask him?

Then get your nurse to explain his answer to you.
