Hello traders!

In the US tonight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was off 16.7 points at
13,291.7, while the S&P500 was up 0.07 points at 1,471.56 and the Nasdaq
Composite ended 5.4 points off, at 2,592.07.

Crude oil topped $80 a barrel.

The pound dropped after the Bank of England's Governor indicated that he may cut rates if the financial crisis heightens, but ruled out pumping cheap money into the system.

The Bank of Englands Governor yesterday set his face firmly against taking action to bail out banks struggling with mounting strains on lending conditions triggered by the worldwide credit crunch.

Good morning traders!

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning up 27.36 points at 24,337.50,
while the Nikkei was recently up 28.49 points at 15,826.09.

Crude oil for October delivery fell as much as 23 cents to $79.68 a barrel
Thursday. The contract finished $1.68 higher at $79.91 on the New York
Mercantile Exchange Wednesday, after climbing to $80.05 a barrel earlier in the
regular trading session.
