jimbob, can you mail me your email address through the MAM messenger? I may be able to help!!

mickeyskint - 08 Sep 2005 12:24 - 5 of 25

I've quickly run the slide rule over these and I don't see a ten-bagger. Yes some are good value and others there's no info on, and a couple I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. I think Shares Mag are using a certain amount of journalistic licence to sell copy. They're appealing to the greedy side of your nature. IMHO

I would only buy the one at 9p myself..

belisce6 - 08 Sep 2005 13:30 - 7 of 25

agree with you mickeyskint; as ALK (alkane), CWR (ceres) and RVA (renova) have risen to very high levels recently.....and now those stocks have to keep pace in terms of delivery of financials to justify their market capitalisation - but for each of them, it will take at least about 2 years, i would have thought....

the ones that i will be taking a more indepth look at are GWR and PTI - the biotechs; if they are at low valuations then are possibly worth a speculative look.

moneyplus - 08 Sep 2005 13:44 - 8 of 25

MOI is worth considering surely with todays good news and agree with driver PCM is another with potential---YOO anyone??

mickeyskint - 08 Sep 2005 14:06 - 9 of 25

I would like to hear your thoughts on CWR and PTI when you've had time to take a closer look. You're so right on delivery on finacials to justify market cap. So many stocks on AIM are overvalued and so it's vital to take an in-depth look at the balance sheet. Even then there's no guarantee it will go your way. The markets can be a law unto themselves.

Any personnal opinions on what is likely to ten bag? I know we're chasing the dream here.

Sharesure - 08 Sep 2005 19:43 - 11 of 25

I didn't think much of their choice either. What about CHP; set to treble v.soon and then 10 fold within 9 months. I suggested this to Shares when they were recently sub 5p, but they didn't take the idea up. What's more it's likely they won't right up the Results or latest info. either. I'd rather have CHP and/or SEO in a 10 bagger portfolio any day of the week.

jimbobGR - 08 Sep 2005 19:49 - 12 of 25

Understand your view on this one although speculative, why do you say triple v.soon, is news due or you just expect more speculators to buy in?

Sharesure - 08 Sep 2005 22:54 - 13 of 25

JimbobGR, Because news soon. Apparently just fixing the paperwork for dev. finance. I rate CHP as a 'once in every 5 year prospect' The news we are all waiting to be confirmed is on the thread. The behaviour of WDBM on the bid, (they have 26% for their clients so are bound to know) gives confidence that it is all in the bag, bar the funding document which is being worked on prior to an RNS

gildph - 08 Sep 2005 23:02 - 14 of 25

I reckon there's a good chance 2 at least out of CWR,PTI,RVA,TSL will be 5-10 baggera albeit within 3-5 years.....

blackbelt - 09 Sep 2005 09:21 - 15 of 25

The only one Id be tempted to buy is AAU cause it hasnt got away yet! I liked Renova but didnt have the available funds to invest when they were 80p then in the blink of an eye its 1.40+ So a ten bagger has to be purchased at the bottom on this basis I would have to wait for 14 not 8! I only invest with a medium term view as I like to have access to my money, cause I don't much!!!, but Im too quick to sell out thats my major problem!

As long as I get 30%+ im usually happy to sell especially if its within a couple of weeks! If you apply this strategy across the board it means your not left with the annoyance of watching your profit tick down to break even with your portfolio stagnating.....only my strategy but will put a few of these on the watch list

Mr Mole - 09 Sep 2005 09:26 - 16 of 25

Potentialy a daft question....I understood that a ten bagger was a share the doubled itself 10 times....the article kicks off by saying that a share which is 100p and becomes 10 is a 10 bagger.....to my mind that's a sort of a 4 and a bit bagger...i.e. 100p to 200p (2 bagger)...200p to 400p (3 bagger)..etc etc. Have I got this wrong?

driver - 09 Sep 2005 09:29 - 17 of 25

I still say SEO click on my little green house to read the SEO Research Page.

Also PCM bid up TV in China 2006 what more do you want.

Bullshare - 09 Sep 2005 09:34 - 18 of 25

Mr Mole; In investing language, a stock or other investment that has returned ten times its original investment is called a 'ten bagger'. Other multiples are also used, i.e. five bagger. So from 1 to 10 is ten fold increase, so a ten bagger.

The comparison is derived from the US game of baseball, where the bases are called bags, and a hit which produces, say, a three base movement of the runner, is called a three bagger.

Hope that helps

Mr Mole - 09 Sep 2005 10:07 - 19 of 25

Thanks Bullshare
