FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

just playing bad golf today :-(

DAX
which way will it head if tories get a decent majority?

QATAR
seems hypocritical for Saudi to fall out with Qatar given that huge funds are funneled from Saudi to Al Quaeda and similar groups

Are you defending your Mates?

Hope you are wearing one.

DOW New high,

cynic - 20 Jun 2017 08:40 - 21412 of 21973

quite so, and i am long here (DOW)

took profit on DAX late yesterday as was unsure whether or not 12,900 would hold ..... it has and more, so have dabbled long once again

FTSE i continue to avoid

cynic - 20 Jun 2017 15:02 - 21413 of 21973

DOW
banked nice long profit on 50% and have reversed DAX so now (overall) running small short

DAX
closed DAX short for ok quick profit

cynic - 21 Jun 2017 16:23 - 21414 of 21973

DOW
looking very shaky
a couple of days ago, it broke quite smartly through 21,500, but yesterday it stuttered and dropped below that by the close
there was a half-hearted attempt to go back north earlier today, but has now fallen back quite sharply to just above 21,400

DAX
to some extent has mirrored DOW, its upper limit being 12,900+ but has now tumbled back to 12,750
this does not augur well for the bulls

cynic - 22 Jun 2017 07:41 - 21415 of 21973

DOW
last night it had a few peeks at 21,400 but managed to hold that line
perhaps worth keeping an eye on its direction today for other markets

cynic - 29 Jun 2017 15:04 - 21416 of 21973

what spooked DAX while i was out, or is it just computer generated mayhem?

KidA - 29 Jun 2017 15:13 - 21417 of 21973
