Well if the Mineworkers Pension Scheme has bought a notifiable interest in SEO, lets hope that they think they have struck a rich seam of gold, or even platinum or else they are all platypusses (or is it platypi?)

The oily one

Notice how deafening the silence has been from certain quarters during the past four trading days? Its almost peaceful!!

hewittalan6 - 16 Oct 2006 15:37 - 21502 of 27111

Don't tempt 'em oliy.
I'm enjoying it just as it is!!

pinnacle - 16 Oct 2006 15:41 - 21503 of 27111

I am still here!!

Just taken my full entitlement today.

Pleased to see a pension fund is interested as they have to take a long term view!!

oblomov - 16 Oct 2006 15:55 - 21504 of 27111

As Oily knows, I emailed SEO to ask for clarification on the Biotech Patent schedule in the prospectus. My email and the reply just received are copied below (all names apart from Sylvia's have been changed to protect the innocent!).

I've either got someone elses email or this is the standard SEO 'dont ask awkward questions' reply! 'we are unable to comment on specific questions due to stock exchange rules' - oh yeah?! lol That explains a lot. Not much point in going to the AGM, then.

---

Dear Sirs,

I am an investor and trying to decide whether to take up the recent open offer.

I am a little confused by the Biotec Patent situation. In the schedule relating to Stanelco's own patents you indicate in the prospectus which patents related to which products.

Could you please tell me which of the Biotec patents is relevant to Starpol (2000 and/or 300) and Wrap 100? Are they the patents highlighted in the schedule?

Kind regards

Mr Oblomov

As we are a publicly quoted company, we are unable to comment on specific questions due to stock exchange rules. However, when we have any news to release to the market, it will be made through an RNS announcement. Our website will be automatically updated with this information".

I'm in a bit of a negative phase at the moments, since the RNS, so please excuse me. But

does anyone know is there any way the mm's could have pushed the SP up to suck people into the open offer? Admittedly there has been a lot of buying, but it worries me a little that they could pump up the SP, investors think 'Great' and rush in to take up the offer and then the mm's could drop it again after the offer closes.

Obe2konobi - 16 Oct 2006 17:28 - 21515 of 27111

Hi all
This is beginning to be fun again. Good to have your devious thoughts on here Oblomov but I think if it became that obvious with no share movement to back up the drop then the powers that should be would have to look into it and probably do nothing as usual. Humm...I'll keep your thoughts in mind !
So you could be right but there's just as good chance or more that sentiment is changing with fresh blood coming in and the offer could be a partial saviour for long term holders who get to average down with the big bonus in price difference added. The cost to most to take the offer is low to the risk already taken so far. You'd probably find with another small increase in the SP that if you bought then sold you'd have narrowed the gap anyway.
Still holding, buying the offer and sleeping at night.
