Oblomov,

You should have never asked on here what you should do with it.

So before we get back to the serious stuff, re SEO which I'm sure after the AGM there will be plenty to talk about, I have a suggestion what you can do with your coconuts (no not that).

If you cut all the fibers off you could weave them into a coconut mat.
May take you a few years, but it would wile away the time as you wait for SEO to get another contract. Also the mat would be bio-degradable, so you would also be helping save the planet.
Now that's given me an idea. Where did I put the contact number of the SEO development team.

Had some other suggestions, but as they say, this is a family show.

Good to see they have closed down the dark side ,not before time.See you at 10am?

greekman - 27 Apr 2007 07:42 - 24283 of 27111

Today is a NO BAG DAY at ASDA.
They will not be giving out carrier bags to shoppers. It is yet another push at the consumer who is demanding supermarkets go green.
Also in several of their stores they want customers to return what they consider to be excess packaging, so they can photograph certain items and sent the photograph to their suppliers asked why they can't reduce said packaging.

Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's etc are all vying for the green angle.

It used to be regular price wars, now it's the 'We can save the planet better than our competitors war'.

Surely if a supermarket put out a message, 'Most of our packaging is bio-degradable' with a mass advertising campaign, this would be very successful.
Presumably because they haven't, they don't yet have such packaging (I am not counting a couple of such items on a Walmart shelf ).

Supermarket will give the customer what they want. A happy customer means more cash. Also with the huge rise in landfill tax, unless they cut waste costs for disposal will increase. All this eats into profits.

The opportunities for companies like SEO are now at a peak. If SEO don't get in there soon, all will be lost.

The only thing SEO appear to be re-cycling is the management team.

As for the AGM. This must be a catalyst for the company. The days of promises, jam tomorrow type hype have gone.

I approach today with trepidation.

To the 'usual' crowd - I'll see you at 9.15 for coffee.

To the 'unusual' crowd - we usually go for a lunch nearby afterwards to discuss our thoughts. You are welcome to introduce yourselves and join us. Look for two chaps named Tony, a Patrick or a David, who will be asking questions, lots of 'em!

Mad Pad - 27 Apr 2007 08:07 - 24285 of 27111

Tony, better get on yr bike then.Greek, interesting bit in yesterdays FT saying that in Ireland there is a drift back to usage of plastic bags again(you have to pay for them ),so maybe the only way forward is to give people what they want PLASTIC BAGS but biodegradeable and stop trying to ban them in place of the "for ever shopping bag".

greekman - 27 Apr 2007 08:36 - 24286 of 27111

Love to attend the AGM, but can't.

Live too far away, and off on hols Sat.

Will be grateful for any feedback from those attending.

hewittalan6 - 27 Apr 2007 08:55 - 24287 of 27111

Would love to be there just to see if anyone can make 'em squirm, or if the audience has placemen from the instituions, asking the board the questions the board and instis want to answer.

Fred1new - 27 Apr 2007 09:12 - 24288 of 27111

Will there be prayers before the meeting commences?

Or a burial or two after it.

8-)

AdieH - 27 Apr 2007 11:57 - 24289 of 27111

boldtrader - 27 Apr 2007 13:45 - 24290 of 27111

RNS out at 1.31pm, As expected no news, will have to wait patiently for feedback from our guys at the coalface.Exasperating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers.

automatic - 27 Apr 2007 14:19 - 24291 of 27111

Well nothing then, no surprise, i can see the SP going sub 1p now

greekman - 27 Apr 2007 14:51 - 24292 of 27111

OK, No RNS out re contracts, so nothing re contracts would have been mentioned at the AGM.
I have witnessed several releases after AGM's where important news is timed for release so that those attending such have as little advantage as possible.
Another company in which I hold shares released such an RNS to co-inside with the announcement at the AGM. (or as near timing as possible)
I very much hope I am wrong, but don't hold your breath.

One more RNS and it'll just be like the route 29 bus in north London........

Tonyrelaxes - 27 Apr 2007 18:02 - 24296 of 27111

AGM - really a nothing event.

Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing at all was learned except the book value of Greenseal has been written down to half a million.

The Chairman was very tight lipped and would/could not answer most questions claiming (variously) legal proceedings, confidentiality, rules (not sure who's), not falling into the year being voted upon, etc, etc.

New man, Paul Mines, said nothing - he just sat there, smiling at times at the more searching or ingenious questions. I spoke to him afterwards. He came across as (or at least sounded) personable, confident and a knowledgable operator - but again answered some questions with "I cannot say" ! Imposing stature, well tanned (hope that fades fast as he remains indoors working for us - it would be nice if he became a shareholder soon). He is working full time at SEO, having passed the running of his wind-farm project to his partner. I hope he has put the wind behind him.

New Chairman also said nothing. It would have been nice if both the Newies could have said a few words about themselves. But giving information seemed absoultely forbidden.

Howard White (and son, I am told), Ian Balchin, Barrie Hozier, and Bruce Drew and possibly others I don't know, were all there as shareholders. Twice as many ex-Directors present than comprises the entire Executive Board !

I came away frustrated at the stone-walling and lack of information (announced or gleaned). From other 'private' conversations afterwards I am happy the products are still great (including Greenseal), in demand and should be successful if/when they get selling.

One worrying rumour from another attendee is that McDs/Perseco had accepted Wrap last autumn but not proceeded because no-one returned their phone calls.

I asked Paul Mines when can we expect some news - before the Interims? He hoped so - but don't we all.....

I am continuing to hold, but watching even more carefully. I seriously need some encouraging News (not noise) and if it doesn't come I will look to move on.

The lunch was good - thanks for that Oily

oblomov - 27 Apr 2007 18:13 - 24297 of 27111

There is nothing attractive about this as an investment now - I'll choose my moment, sell out and move on.

Good luck all.

tweenie - 27 Apr 2007 18:17 - 24298 of 27111

Tony....
On PM's board there was mention of talks with 'Sealed air' can this be confirmed or is it just hot air?

Tonyrelaxes - 27 Apr 2007 18:32 - 24299 of 27111

Tweenie,

Yes, they said they were "in business" with Sealed Air but this was quickly retracted to "negotiating".

I am out for an hour or so but will answer any other questions later or over the weekend when I can re-listen ;-) to my "notes" for the actual verbatim.

oblomov - 27 Apr 2007 18:40 - 24300 of 27111

Changed my mind - I will stick around on readin this from another thread!

'positive news on Sealed Air, Lovegrove confirmed they had been "impressed" and that we are "doing business". '

Did you not pick up on this, Tony?
