Another green measure - perhaps for the next Budget - was last week's announcement that supermarkets must curb plastic bag usage or risk legislation which could force them to charge their customers. This boosted tiny biodegradable packaging group Stanelco (SEO), which rose from 20p to 108p in a few days before rational thinking stepped in.
hope everyone sold at 108p!!!!!!!!!!!!

garyble,
Thanks for that.
'Does anyone know if the EC agreement is still in force? Also, does Biotec recieve EC royalty payments?'
My own research led me along the same path and I asked the first question in an earlier post - presumably no-one knows.
As time goes on further question marks appear in relation to Biotec - the same thing happened with Greenseal and we all know where that ended!

garyble,
The EC agreement ends on June 30th. 2008. It is royalty-free.
It refers to the agreement with Novamont which appears to have been in place in 2005 when Sphere and SEO bought Biotec - presumably it still is. Khasoggi owns Earthshell, I believe, and of course owned Biotec before the sale to Spehere and SEO.
http://www.secinfo.com/d12TC3.z12qb.d.htm
I cant find details of the Novamont Agreement so dont know if its in force. If it is, it may form the basis of Novamont's patents claim.
BTW, Essam Khasoggi (of E. Khasoggi Industries) is Adnan Khasoggi's (the arms dealer) brother, apparently.

Oblo,
Certainly becoming a bit clearer re: EarthsShell. I didn't know EarthShell was owned by EKI...are you sure? The contract and all other reports refer to them as distinctly separate entities with no other relationship apart from ineterest in licences.
There are in fact three Khashoggi brothers as posted above.

Re: EarthShell again, I found the following:
http://biz.yahoo.com/e/070122/esheq.pk8-k.html
"
22-Jan-2007
Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement, Termination of a Material Definitive
Item 1.01. Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement
On January 19, 2007, EarthShell Corporation (the "Company") filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code (the "Code") in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (the "Bankruptcy Court"). Also on that date, the Company has entered into a definitive Asset Purchase Agreement (the "Agreement") with EarthShell Acquisition Corp. (the "Purchaser"), a newly formed Delaware corporation owned and controlled by affiliates of our licensee, Renewable Products, Inc. ("RPI"), to sell substantially all of the Company's assets for approximately $1.0 million, subject to certain offsets and adjustments, including but not limited to the amounts advanced to the Company under debtor-in-possession ("DIP") financing arrangements to be filed with the Bankruptcy Court for Court approval. The Company intends to file the Agreement with the Bankruptcy Court shortly"
I believe this would normally terminate a licence agreement.

In response to driver's moans....this stock moves up or down on a nothing rumour... I'm just trying to guess which way this bleated stock will go....could be .2p.... or on a whim of buying it could go up to 1p or more...could be over 2p at the end of the year....like many other people I,m trying to make a buck or two...I feel sorry for those that have bought in at 10p plus and are still in but with the stockmarket things move fast...making any sense out of this company takes some doing....at the moment I'd say things do not look promising !

I fear that this is going back to the .2p that we saw before...there is an interesting point raised by oblomov...I have to say that I know nothing about this so any points by other bloggers would be welcome...we all would like SEO to recover...me included because it has potential...the only trouble is that every time it recovers something else comes along to knock it !

garyble,
'I didn't know EarthShell was owned by EKI...are you sure?'
'Essam Khashoggi, the brother of Saudi billionaire Adnan Khashoggi, co-founded EarthShell in 1992. He and his company, E. Khashoggi Industries LLC, and other affiliated entities are currently EarthShell's largest shareholders with nearly 8 million shares or close to 32 percent of the company's stock. The shares are valued at about $13.6 million based on the May 24 closing price. '
http://stlouis.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories/2006/05/29/story7.html?jst=s_cn_hl
He subsequently stepped down as chairman, left the board but remained the largest shareholder. Now looks like the company has gone bust, as your post shows.
But it's the Novamont agreement that is crucial to us - whether that agreement is current and how it features in the patents dispute.

Looking at Garyble's post 26249 and reading the agreement (see contract)
http://contracts.onecle.com/earthshell/biotec.lic.2002.07.29.shtml it does look as if such proceedings would terminate said agreements.
Been away so have 300 plus e-mails to check so only had time to skim contract details, but it may assist.

With regards the Novamont / Sphere dispute.
If patents EP 0 327 505, EP 0947 559 and EP 0 937 120 were in place at time of Cross Licensing Arrangements in Aug. 2001 between Novamont and Biotec, I believe the Biotec licence to 'manufacture material' from the shared IP then transferred to Stanelco when they bought Biotec. Though Sphere then bought a 50% share of Biotec, are Novamont telling Sphere that they could supply the raw materials, they could make the 'resin', but they could not manufacture goods from that IP.
From results statement.
"Local arrangements for sales in north America were terminated in the period, it is expected that we shall be developing a renewed approach to this market in 2008."
