halifax - 02 Dec 2008 16:35 - 2823 of 3050

Harry it is no coincidence that as the price of oil falls the solar shares fall and all the green issues will go out of the window.

cynic - 31 Dec 2008 07:57 - 2824 of 3050

MoneyAM
Chinese solar wafer manufacturer ReneSola has signed a $117 million five-year project loan agreement with China Construction Bank.

"We are pleased to announce that we've secured additional financing for our Sichuan polysilicon manufacturing facility," said Charles Bai, ReneSola's chief financial officer.

"The agreement, combined with previously acquired financing, provides ReneSola with approximately 90% of the capital necessary to fund the project to completion."

hlyeo98 - 19 Feb 2009 08:41 - 2828 of 3050

SOLA is losing ground gradually.

cynic - 19 Feb 2009 09:09 - 2829 of 3050

goldfinger - 19 Feb 2009 09:30 - 2830 of 3050

Falcothou - 23 Feb 2009 08:09 - 2831 of 3050

Had a flutter long this morning, mainly on oil's resurgent prospects and Obama's potential green bias see how it goes, could be a double bottom or falling knife

hlyeo98 - 23 Feb 2009 17:45 - 2832 of 3050

cynic - 23 Feb 2009 19:32 - 2833 of 3050

ReneSola warns of Q4 loss - MoneyAM

Chinese solar wafer maker ReneSola Ltd warned it would post a net loss of around $125m-$130m for the fourth quarter, as falling prices forced it to make massive write-downs on its assets.

For the quarter, ReneSola expects to record write-downs of around $130m-$140 against the net realisable value of inventories, it said, blaming falling prices for both its finished solar wafers and feedstock such as polysilicon and scrap silicon.

There was some good news though, as ReneSola said it expected net revenues and production output to come in at or above the high end of its previous guidance for both Q4 2008 and the full year.

It now expects net revenues for Q4 to range $157m-$159 and production output of around 112 megawatts. For 2009, Renesola expects net revenue to range $650m-$700m and production output to reach 620-670 megawatts.

The competitiveness and popularity of solar energy should rise exponentially as solar generated electricity nears grid parity, said CEO Xianshou Li. Despite recent challenges we remain confident in the mid- to long-term prospects of the industry and believe that ReneSola is well positioned to ride out the storm through our continual focus on cost reduction, prudent expansion in line with market demand, solid cash position and significant pre-sold output for the year.

cynic - 03 Mar 2009 15:42 - 2835 of 3050

fyi, First Solar who are/were the leader in USA have been absolutely hammered of late on a profit warning .... would be surprised if SOLA fare any better and certainly would not be a buyer

required field - 26 Mar 2009 18:33 - 2836 of 3050

On a day when PVCS reports good figures, 3.7p final dividend (4 eurocents) and drops, SOLA rockets !.....will I ever understand this market !!!?.

sivad - 27 Mar 2009 10:03 - 2837 of 3050

Sola rockets on Chines Govt subsidy announcement yesterday.

All Chinese based solar related stocks surged 40% plus yesterday.
Sol was one of them and recorded even hiher after market moves.

cynic - 29 May 2009 19:47 - 2838 of 3050

i am reluctant to dust this one down, but it's worth looking at FSLR on Dow ..... in March, FLSR were down to about $85 but have now rocketed to $185+ on the back of some very good contracts

HARRYCAT - 05 Jun 2009 13:26 - 2839 of 3050

Now 177p !!! maybe the good ol' days coming back for this very tradeable stock.

Nar1 - 07 Jun 2009 12:38 - 2840 of 3050

Harrycat - where do you see this going from there it appears it broken out of the resistance level.
