Cybit the best telematics play (CYH)

Still Waiting - 21 Sep 2003 22:33

The chart for this stock says it all.

The company is quickly becoming a real gem in the telematics field, over the last month the co. has announced re-seller contracts which will bring in min. 2m or >30% of last years T/O alone.

The company is already experiencing massive organic growth so the co. should be profitable now following last years 500k loss.

The co. has approx. 6m cash and is in one of the hottest growth areas at the moment.

With a market cap. of 25m this will be re-rated x2/3 minimum within the next 6-12 months IMHO.

MM buys went through on Friday with T/O continuing to build, one to put on your monitor...

Cybit strengthens its drive into the food delivery market with major order from Caterfood

Caterfood success follows Fleetstar-Online order from Sainsburys to You
Solution offers potential to gain insurance Risk Recognition Rebate through integration of telematics

Cybit, the UKs leading online telematics service provider, has strengthened its drive into the food delivery market with a major order for Fleetstar-Online from Caterfood, a specialist supplier of ambient, chilled and frozen foods to the catering trade. Caterfood has chosen Fleetstar-Online to enhance Duty of Care for its mobile workforce and take advantage of a potential Risk Recognition Rebate from Norwich Union as a result of the implementation of telematics. Caterfood joins Sainsburys to You, an organisation that has already taken advantage of Fleetstar-Online, to improve the productivity and efficiency of its food delivery operations.

Caterfood will initially implement 41 Fleetstar-Online units for its fleet of temperature controlled vehicles, allowing it to track and monitor the activities of its fleet in real-time, an essential requirement for the delivery of perishable goods. As part of the agreement, Caterfood already a Norwich Union Fleetwise customer has the potential to gain a Risk Recognition Rebate by following good driving practices as reported by the Fleetstar-Online solution.

The main reason behind our decision to implement telematics to our fleet was that we wanted to improve the level of Duty of Care we provide to our mobile workers, commented Mark Felton, Managing Director, Caterfood. The Cybit solution allows us to track our vehicles in real time and enables us to check that our drivers are safe and following good driving practices, such as keeping to speed limits. This enhances the safety of our fleet, while also providing us with additional benefits such as the ability to optimise our fleet and minimise fuel expenditure.

In choosing Fleetstar-Online we were also able to take full advantage of Cybits ongoing relationship with Norwich Union to gain potential rebates on our insurance expenditure. We chose the solution following a recommendation by our insurance broker Bartlett Davies Bicks, concluded Mark Felton.

"Caterfood has always actively managed its vehicle fleet, but for some time it has been looking for a more efficient fleet management system. Initially Caterfoods motivation was to provide better customer service, while being able to reduce running costs, boost productivity and support their Duty of Care responsibilities, commented Karl Hanson, Director, Bartlett Davies Bicks Caterfoods insurance broker. "However, by using Cybit the potential for further premium rebates became available. Further to this, Norwich Union has appointed a specialist fleet surveyor to analyse the information provided by Cybit, with a view to providing a longer term premium advantage."

The delivery of foods, whether it be to homes or to the catering trade, is a real growth sector for Cybit, commented John Wisdom, Director of Sales and Marketing at Cybit. This order from Caterfood offers further proof that Cybit is rapidly becoming the telematics partner of choice for companies operating in this sector.

Fleetstar-Online offers clear business benefits to organisations involved in delivery, and our ongoing partnership with Norwich Union further enhances these benefits by recognising good driving practices through Risk Recognition Rebates and fixed annual insurance premiums, concluded John Wisdom.
Cybit provides the core telematics technology for Norwich Unions Fleet Telematics solution. Qualifying fleets that install their vehicles with Cybits Fleetstar-Online telematics equipment available from as little as 20 per vehicle per month can take advantage of Norwich Unions unique fleet insurance offering, which features:

fixed price insurance cover over two or three years
annual telematics-based insurance premium rebate when key performance indicators are achieved
risk management advice that looks at key elements of the telematics records, coupled with claims information to provide an analysis of key performance measures and bespoke risk management reports
best practice guidance on running a fleet of vehicles including compliance with safety and legal issues.

Haymills to optimise delivery operation with
cost-effective Cybit telematics solution

Fleetstar-Online enables building contractors to improve utilisation of mobile workforce
Telematics implementation will help Haymills improve customer service

Cybit, the UKs leading online telematics service provider, has announced that Haymills, the national building contractor, has implemented Fleetstar-Online into 42 of its delivery vehicles. The implementation of Cybits telematics solution will allow Haymills to monitor the use of its vehicles in real-time to improve the efficiency of its delivery operation through enhanced fleet visibility. The deployment of Fleetstar-Online, and the use of real-time data, will help Haymills to provide its customers with a more efficient and productive delivery service.

Haymills has selected Fleetstar-Online, the Internet-based fleet and asset management solution from Cybit, to improve the efficiency of service delivery to clients and to help improve routing between customer sites. The extensive reporting functionality offered by the solution will allow Haymills to monitor its fleet and highlight where improvements can be made. Fleetstar-Online will also enhance the level of Duty of Care that Haymills provides to its mobile employees by monitoring issues such as speed, mileage, driving times and good driving practices.

At Haymills we strive for continuous improvement, based on a systematic analysis of the weaknesses and strengths of our processes. That is why we decided to investigate the viability of deploying telematics into our delivery fleet, commented Gary Nunn, Director of Haymills. Cybits Fleetstar-Online stood out above a number of other telematics solutions for its comprehensive reporting system which provides data in a manageable, user-friendly format. Additionally, the Cybit solution involved a simple, one-off cost with no hidden add-ons. We found that the costs of other telematics offerings were dependent on the amount of information that is downloaded.

Cybit has already allowed us to make early gains in the three months since its initial implementation. This includes making better use of our workforce, with the knock-on effect of providing our clients with faster service delivery, continued Gary Nunn. Should the implementation of telematics continue to offer the benefits displayed so far, I am sure that we will look to broaden our use of Fleetstar-Online in the near future.

An ever increasing number of fleet operators are recognising the benefits offered by telematics, commented John Wisdom, Group Director Sales and Marketing at Cybit. We are delighted that companies such as Haymills are embracing this enabling technology, and using it to directly contribute to improvements in customer service. Fleetstar-Online is an extremely cost-effective business tool, which can help organisations streamline their fleet performance and enhance Duty of Care.

Fleetstar-Online is Cybits scalable Internet-based telematics solution that features real-time vehicle tracking, exception reporting, replay mode, customised reports, mileage information, SMS messaging and live traffic information. By implementing Fleetstar-Online, organisations are able to take advantage of Norwich Unions Fleet Telematics insurance offering. Fleet Telematics offers organisations that install Cybits telematics platform fixed insurance premiums for the two to three year duration of the agreement and also gives them the ability to earn a Risk Recognition Rebate of up to 16 per cent per annum for meeting risk management KPIs.

Cybit launches home delivery sales initiative for retail sector

Fleetstar-Online and Smartnav deliver substantial operational benefits and increased Duty of Care provision to organisations in the home delivery sector
Open API architecture allows for easy integration with back office routing and scheduling systems

Cybit, the UKs leading online telematics service provider, has announced a major new initiative that will see it target the home delivery sector. It follows the success of the companys recent project with Sainsbury's to help power its 400-plus 'Sainsbury's to You' home delivery operation, and the growing requirement for home delivery fleets to optimise their performance.

The combination of Cybit's Fleetstar-Online solution with Smartnav satellite navigation allows organisations in the home delivery sector to maximise their operational efficiency, enhancing their Duty of Care provision for drivers, optimising fleet performance under the Working Time directive, and helping home delivery organisations to exceed customer expectations. Thanks to the Open API architecture of the Cybit system, essential telematics data can be easily integrated with an organisations existing routing and scheduling system, allowing it analyse and optimise the efficiency of its operation.

Retail home delivery services face particular problems in planning large numbers of deliveries of often relatively low value products to residential areas. Because Fleetstar-Online and Smartnav provide turn-by-turn directions, home delivery drivers can find their destination promptly and avoid potential traffic hotspots, commented Richard Horsman, Chief Executive Officer, Cybit. This is particularly important for the home delivery market, where drivers often operate in unfamiliar locations, and misread directions and excess mileage can lead to increases in stem mileage.

The Cybit home delivery solution also addresses Duty of Care issues that are increasingly important to retail delivery fleet managers. The data produced by Fleetstar-Online allows home delivery fleet managers to have complete visibility of the mileage, service history, distances travelled and speeds driven across its entire fleet helping to ensure that the vehicle is in good working order and being driven responsibly. The real-time vehicle location capability, and the ability to call the 24/7 call centre in case of emergency, also dramatically enhances vehicle and driver safety. Drivers also experience less stress as there is no need for them to constantly refer to a gazetteer or use a mobile phone to obtain directions.

"We have launched a sales drive into this particular sector as we have already shown our ability to deliver a perfect fit solution for the home delivery operations through our recent three-year agreement with Sainsbury's," added Richard Horsman. "The use of Cybit's telematics enabled solutions that power the 'Sainsbury's to You' delivery system provides tangible business benefits in an extremely competitive arena. By leveraging telematics within their business, home delivery organisations can gain a competitive advantage over others in the sector.

"Companies such as Sainsbury's are partnering with Cybit because of our proven telematics platform backed up by our extensive portfolio of value added services and support network. We continue to develop as the lead player in the telematics marketplace and our evolving product group illustrates this perfectly," he continued.

Fleetstar-Online is Cybits scalable Internet-based telematics solution that features real-time vehicle tracking, exception reporting, replay mode, customised reports, mileage information, SMS messaging and live traffic information. Fleet vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit (IVU) which is tracked by GPS in real-time and data transmitted to Cybits online control centre. It provides companies with a cost-effective ASP-based fleet management solution, which offers users anytime, anywhere access to the system via a standard web browser. Fleetstar-Online also features added value solution support, with fully integrated Smartnav satellite navigation and RAC Trackstar Plus stolen vehicle recovery system functionality. Smartnav is an off-board satellite navigation and route planning system that gathers real-time traffic information from Trafficmaster's established network of cameras and sensors around the UK.

Flogas orders GPRS-based telematics and satellite navigation solution from Cybit

Leading Liquified Petroleum Gas supplier signs three year contract for Fleetstar-Online telematics and Smartnav satellite navigation
Cybit solution helps Flogas to track deliveries and plan routes to major customers including Coca Cola, Total and Sainsburys

Cybit, the UKs leading online telematics service provider, has won an order from Flogas, one of the largest Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) suppliers in the UK, for an advanced fleet and asset management solution that incorporates satellite navigation. Fleetstar-Onlines GPRS-based telematics technology will allow Flogas to track its delivery fleet in real-time and make the most efficient use of working time within the constraints of the Road Transport Directive. This will ensure that Flogas enhances its customer service and provides accurate ETAs to its clients, including major organisations such as Asda, Coca Cola, Sainsburys and Total.

Flogas will implement Cybits Fleetstar-Online telematics and Smartnav satellite navigation solution across its fleet of 105 delivery tankers. Cybits solution will enable Flogas to monitor vehicles in real-time through the matching of current GPS positions to mapping at 20 second intervals, while Smartnav will provide drivers with advanced satellite navigation, live traffic information and also deliver advanced notification of route delays and options for alternative routes.

Cybit offered a solution which also integrated event management for Flogas, such as the ability to monitor the length of time it takes our delivery tankers to discharge the product, commented Tony Humphreys, Logistic Director at Flogas. This provides us with the information we needed to establish just how long vehicles spend actually discharging LPG, rather than the total time a tanker spends on site.

The visibility to fleet operations, plus real-time traffic information and a high quality navigation system will enhance our delivery capabilities, while Cybits functionality and reporting suite will also help with planning our Duty of Care compliance, he continued. The data produced by the system will allow us to have complete visibility of the routes taken, duration of stops and discharge times, service history and distances travelled.

John Wisdom, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Cybit added: Flogas provides an essential fuel supply to thousands of customers nationwide who rely on LPG for everything from heating and cooking to powering vehicles. By deploying Fleetstar-Online into its primary distribution fleet, Flogas will significantly enhance its operational efficiency and Duty of Care provision.

Fleetstar-Online is Cybits scalable Internet-based telematics solution that features real-time vehicle tracking, exception reporting, replay mode, customised reports, mileage information, SMS messaging and live traffic information. Fleet vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit (IVU) which is tracked by GPS in real-time and then transmits data to Cybits online control centre.

About Flogas:
Owned entirely by DCC, a leading support services group focused on sales, marketing and distribution in the energy, IT, healthcare and food markets, Flogas UK Ltd is one of the largest LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) suppliers in the UK.

Flogas has an acknowledged reputation within the industry, and is established as the second largest LPG company in the UK, following steady growth over the last 20 years. It delivers to thousands of customers nationwide who rely on LPG for a wide range of uses, from heating and cooking to powering vehicles and animal farming. Flogas also sells a comprehensive range of LPG equipment products to both business and domestic users, offering over 1,000 different product lines. For more information visit www.flogas.co.uk.

Haulage and logistics specialist implements Fleetstar-Online to comply with new Working Time Directive

Real-time telematics enables Ray C Smith to provide accurate ETAs to customers including ASDA and Pedigree Petfoods

Ray C Smith, the haulage, logistics and storage specialist, has implemented Fleetstar-Online, Cybits Internet-based fleet and asset management solution to maximise operational efficiency and comply with the new Working Time Directive. The comprehensive reports produced by Fleetstar-Online ensure that Ray C Smith can verify compliance with the Directive which limits the number of hours drivers and crew can spend working per week to an average of 48. Ray C Smith now manages its fleet of 44 HGVs in real-time with better location information. This enables the company to provide more accurate ETAs to its customers which include ASDA, Pedigree Petfoods and Avon Cosmetics.

Flexibility is key to Ray C Smiths fleet operation, however, the Working Time Directive has placed a legal limit on the number of hours each of its drivers can work in a week. It is imperative therefore that Ray C Smith can maximise the operational efficiency of its fleet to deliver the best level of service within the confines of the Directive. By using Fleetstar-Online, Ray C Smith is able to evaluate vehicle delivery routes to maximise productivity while the enhanced fleet visibility and extensive management reporting allows it to examine and challenge time spent loading and unloading at distribution centres and supplier/customer sites.

Any company that fails to invest in technology to comply with the Working Time Directive will face real problems in the long term, commented Ray C Smiths Managing Director, Donald Sang. The reports produced by Fleetstar-Online act as a check on compliance with the Directive by monitoring time spent working and enabling us to verify tachographs and time sheets. The complete visibility offered by the solution enables us to maximise our fleet usage within the legal limits of working hours giving us a real competitive advantage.

There is also an important customer angle to our implementation. Fleetstar-Onlines real-time location facility allows us to be more flexible with our routing to meet customer demand. We have witnessed a considerable reduction in telephone traffic since introducing the system because we are now able to give our customers far more accurate ETAs and tell them exactly where our vehicles are. The importance of this for maintaining good customer relations cannot be underestimated, continued Donald Sang.

We have seen a marked increase in the interest in telematics following the introduction of the Working Time Directive, commented John Wisdom, Director Sales and Marketing at Cybit. Fleetstar-Online offers organisations an Internet-based fleet and asset management solution that allows them to optimise operational efficiency within the legal guidelines set out by the Directive. Ray C Smith has recognised the importance of telematics as a means to deliver an optimised service to its customers which also aids with the verification of compliance in areas such as working time and Duty of Care.

Fleetstar-Online is Cybits scalable Internet-based telematics solution that features real-time vehicle tracking, exception reporting, replay mode, customised reports, mileage information, SMS messaging and live traffic information. By implementing Fleetstar-Online organisations are able to take advantage of the Norwich Unions Fleet Telematics insurance offering. Fleet Telematics offers organisations that install Cybits telematics platform improved insurance premiums for the two to three year duration of the agreement and also gives them the ability to earn a Risk Recognition Rebate of up to 16 per cent per annum for meeting risk management KPIs.

Leading online telematics service provider expands its Scottish operations with over half a million pounds in orders

Four major contracts boost Cybits presence in Scotland
Focuses sales of Fleetstar-Online on key fleet, haulage, construction and service markets

Cybit, the UKs leading online telematics service provider, has announced a major expansion of its Scottish operation following recent major contract wins from leading Scottish organisations including fuel distributor Bernard Brogan Limited, private house builder The Tulloch Group, multi-utility service provider Turriff, and Kerr & Smith, the leading independent motor trader group. With recent contract wins in excess of 500,000, Cybit has moved quickly to become Scotlands fastest-growing telematics vendor, clearly establishing its
Fleetstar-Online solution as an ideal choice for a number of key Scottish markets including the fleet, haulage, construction and service
sectors.

Cybits telematics solutions can help Scottish fleet operators to control their costs and maximise efficiency gains within the specific constraints of the recent Road Transport Directive, part of the broader Working Time Directive that came into force on April 4th 2005. Key benefits achievable using the Cybit telematics solution include maximising efficient journey planning to reduce fuel wastage, measuring vehicle utilisation, verifying and challenging the time spent loading and unloading at distribution centres, and helping drivers to avoid traffic delays and ensure working time is optimised.

Scotland is an important market for Cybit, and were delighted that we have achieved such quick success with organisations such as Bernard Brogan, Kerr and Smith, Tulloch and Turriff adding to the growing number of customers who are seeing the benefits that can result from effective telematics implementation, commented Cybits CEO Richard Horsman. With initial entry-level costs from as little as 20 per vehicle per month, our Fleetstar-Online solution is proving an attractive choice for Scottish organisations looking for flexible and scalable fleet and asset management solutions.

Cybit provides organisations with a scalable, Internet-based vehicle tracking and fleet management solution, and its Fleetstar-Online solution continues to prove itself as the logical choice for businesses that want to move away from more traditional, first generation telematics solutions. In recent months the company has been selected as the telematics partner for the Sainsburys to You home delivery fleet and as the provider of the core technology for Norwich Unions unique Fleet Telematics offering. Cybit has also recently launched a major programme to encourage users of first generation telematics systems to switch to Fleetstar-Online and benefit from the clear ROI and performance enhancements that Cybit can provide to businesses.

Scottish organisations that have already switched to Fleetstar-Online from rival first generation solutions are quickly benefiting from improved productivity, access to real-time operations data thanks to GPRS connectivity, reduced operating costs, the ability to validate timesheets and overtime claims, elimination of unauthorised mileage, compliance with Health and Safety Legislation, driver support, Duty of Care and 24/7 online visibility of current fleet positions

Fleetstar-Online improves driver safety and cuts costs for Scottish construction group

Fleetstar-Online to improve driver safety and identify training requirements
Solution enables Tulloch to reduce fuel and maintenance costs

Cybit, the UKs leading online telematics service provider, has announced that one of Scotlands leading construction and engineering groups, the Tulloch Group, is to implement Fleetstar-Online in all its commercial vehicles. Cybits scalable Internet-based telematics solution will allow real-time tracking of the companys vehicles to improve driver safety, monitor training requirements and reduce expenditure on fuel and vehicle maintenance.

Fleetstar-Online will be installed in 180 of Tullochs vehicles including vans, heavy goods vehicles and cranes. The systems extensive reporting functionality will enhance Tullochs management efficiencies by aiding in the production of weekly timesheets and providing route plans for service engineers. The group will also use the system to monitor driver behaviour patterns to assess the level of training required by fleet drivers, in an effort to achieve a safer driving environment for its own employees as well as other road users. The implementation of telematics will also help the group achieve savings on fuel and maintenance costs by monitoring how vehicles are utilised with regards to speed and out of hours use.

We have previously looked at telematics as a means of adding value to our business processes and implemented a system into a selection of vehicles. The success of this prompted us to develop our use of telematics and look for a suitable solution backed by a strong support network, commented Kenny Cameron, Director, The Tulloch Group. The safety and well being of our employees was high on our Boards list of priorities, along with the scalability, and the Cybit solution offered this within a competitive pricing structure.
Although its very early days since the installation, we are already noticing benefits on many fronts, he continued. With the assistance of the Cybit Consultancy Practice we have carried out various ROI exercises and set out some simple and easily monitored key performance indicators for both our drivers and the business.
