The Shares Game will start in a few weeks time and basically each player selects 3 shares to invest in of which they allocate 80,000 spread between the three however they like. There will only be one chance half-way through the game to trade one share if you wish to something else. The game will last a few months and i will update it at the weekends only. The winner will be of course the one who can make the largest profit otherwise known as Poochy! tee hee :-)

Bring on the Brandy.

Socrates - 26 Nov 2003 22:22 - 2986 of 23498

Where, where?

snoball - 27 Nov 2003 00:06 - 2989 of 23498

o.k so since I know nothing about shares what do I look for?
How is the price determined? From the quotes on here?
Any particular markets? What do they call that market for new issues?
Somebody told me about one of those. Can't remember the name. I'll have to ask again.

little willie - 27 Nov 2003 11:22 - 2990 of 23498

By goodness, the cafe's quiet.
Just had a handfull of biltong from the kilner jar on the bar, yuk!
Whatever it was it sure wasn't biltong, any ideas????

And to top it all the barsteward [?] poured me a Rouebois tea; thought he was doing me a favour, I should cocoa... Afrikaan crap!!

A little cloudy here today and only in middle 20's so I'll give the pool a miss....
Therefore, it looks like I'll have to do some chores.....no, Sod it, I'll read a bit and have an Amstel or Windhoek instead. Anybody care to join me on the loungers?????...

Just typical! Turn up to have a drink with the ever-flirting doggie
and he's not here...never mind we will postpone our chase round the
bar until another day....

Zarif! Little Willie! Wake up gentlemen! There's markets out there
waiting for you to conquer them - go make some activity please as it's
as interesting as watching paint dry on the indices right now!

Ahh...((Sitting down comfortably, having pinched one of the loungers))
A nice cuppa, biccie and a quick snooze because as we all know Us

stockbunny - 27 Nov 2003 14:35 - 2994 of 23498

Zarif
Thought Thanksgiving was tomorrow/the weekend, so yes understandable
things are quiet over there but its a shame we can't act independently
more often over here - like they are on holiday but we aren't....

So what are you going to do with your quiet and lazy afternoon??
Apart from eat soup I recommend the leek and mushroom, very good...

zarif - 27 Nov 2003 14:44 - 2995 of 23498

Me -I am going around lurking and pretending to be engrossed in WORK otherwise the HANDBRAKE will take me out walkies for crimbo shopping- i dont mind her going as i hate shopping and it goes on for hours. Also the hard earned dosh disapperaing in front of your eyes. a case of "what the eye doesnt the heart doesnt grieve"

no -havent changed my name to ebenizer -no not yet its still early days.

Leek and mushroom you say --CHEF CHEf!!!!

stockbunny - 27 Nov 2003 15:00 - 2996 of 23498

You have my sympathy I did a mammoth Xmas shop earlier in the week
and my purse is still glowing red from the experience! But I can
sympathise with the need to get it done too...So wont be able to
hide you behind the bar if 'the handbrake' comes looking for you!!
((Shakes head...sorry...no can do....))

Socrates - 27 Nov 2003 17:37 - 2997 of 23498

Evening all. Late night shopping tonight so won't be back till later. Got to do my bit towards getting HOF figures up a bit. Been busy keepng WGG enthusiasts on another BB informed on runway and airport requirements for A380 Airbuses.

lw
That wasn't biltong, it was GDs old wrestling jock-strap.

little willie - 27 Nov 2003 18:32 - 2998 of 23498

stockbunny...whilst in the caff breaking teeth on GDs jock strap [thats truly revolting Socs] altho I admit it wasn't a very big piece of biltong!!!!
BUT
the lolling around with the other xmas shopping shirkers [we don't do that out here] I was pleasantly suprised by a couple of my stocks, prm & tig, going like a boeing in my absence.
Now a happy but toothless lw...

ajren - 27 Nov 2003 18:59 - 2999 of 23498
