Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Have you finalised the layout regarding selecting options at the top of the page? If not, can I suggest using a menu applet like these http://www.apycom.com/apmenu/index.html They save on screen real estate and keep all the options in one place in a very neat and tidy way! I've used them before on sites that I have designed and these applets behave very well.

Also, how about a frame at the top of the page with the options menu inside this frame so that web site options were always available even when scrolling down wards - really handy when reading longer pages.

Tell me to shut up if this is not the sort of enhancements your looking for :)

jeffmack - Auto Refreash: 'cuse for poking in nose here but have you considered the Opera browser? It has preset and user definable auto refreash options. I use it and it works a treat!

Jeroo,

Dont use the beta version, it has a number of security holes in it, and you are advised to use the 6.05 version (check bugtraq for more information)

tullettj,

Thanks my friend - I'm using 6.05 at present but I registered v7 as it's on special offer right now - v7 has got quite a few bugs in it hasn't it! Still, I love it's browsing speed - I wouldn't go back to the *others* at all.

MightyMicro - 20 Dec 2002 14:39 - 306 of 7315

bonsai: No, this BB was written from scratch by IST. Problem noted, I'll flog the engineers until we have a solution.

I Keep getting more unread posts then there are posts..

ie total post column say 173 and the unread post column 174...

just pointing that out...

bonsai - 20 Dec 2002 16:14 - 308 of 7315

thanks MM or Derek
or all the above ?

jeffmack - 20 Dec 2002 16:15 - 309 of 7315

Probably because the second post is the first post. There are 174 unread, 173 posts and the header = 174

But what do I know

Bullshare - 20 Dec 2002 16:18 - 310 of 7315

Jeffmack; You are right but it is slightly illogical I suppose. on the to do list.

scussy, I am still having problems... can't find out how to get it to work without disabling firewall.

Jumpin - 20 Dec 2002 20:37 - 312 of 7315

I have found the problem with Norton, it seems that it is finding AdlD= on some part of the thread titles and webpage html and won't display those. The function is in the default ad blocking settings part of Norton.

MightyMicro - 20 Dec 2002 20:40 - 313 of 7315

Jumpin -- well debugged!

Kayak - 20 Dec 2002 23:46 - 314 of 7315

That's because they use threadID as a parameter on the end of URLs, the last four characters of which are AdID... Aren't computers thick :-)

scussy - 21 Dec 2002 04:37 - 315 of 7315

yes well done jumpin and many thanks,
i have just unclicked the ad blocker
and all works now,
maybe a note should be made on the e-mail what gives you your pass and ID,
as many more using NORTONS 2002 will have the same problem,

steve

Bullshare - 21 Dec 2002 07:45 - 316 of 7315

Very well found. I am not a computer buff but maybe we should just change the URL ADid. There are a lot of Norton users, we don't want to p*s them off.

david 2000 - 21 Dec 2002 09:15 - 317 of 7315

Morning Mike,
thanks for your help sorting out the login problems yesterday. Are you going to have a real time feed for US futures? May have been discussed previously, but that would be extremely useful.

axdpc - 21 Dec 2002 10:34 - 318 of 7315

Enhancement request

- Sorting by trade price, ascending or descending, in 'Trades'.

- 'Market Scan' filter by FTSE (ie, only FT100 or FT350 etc) or market sector
(eg. banks)

Thanks

dugsy - 21 Dec 2002 10:54 - 319 of 7315

Morning guys,
Gotta say that the site is looking good!!
Just one small thing....i have to scroll left/right to see all the page content, is that general or does it just happen on specific machines/monitors?
If its down to my comp is there any way i can change it so i dont have to scroll. I know this is a trivial type of question but it would be an improvement for me!!...Cheers
Dugsy
