Interesting price differntial between the 1m sale and the 800k sale. I suspect they will trigger some sales - there might even be a tree shake ahead of tomorrow if the MM's are short. Does that sound logical ? Thats a question to the experts.

Insinuating

Driver - insinuating that I am no expert and that you and others may well be able to read what is happening better than I can. I still consider myself "under training".

No offence intended

there is always talk of large trades not being reported until an hour later. if true, does that mean that the 1m sell and the 800k sell are buys?

driver - 21 Apr 2005 15:02 - 3225 of 27111

Baz
No offence taken I am about 1 up the scale as far as training goes, bos always says them sells look like buys, its the end of the day that matters and it looks like we may brake through erics triangle.

bhunt1910 - 21 Apr 2005 15:05 - 3226 of 27111

Driver - lets hope so - its been a good week - so far

At 1307pm 81000 went through at 22.9p as a sell, so those large deals properly were sells after all.
But like I always say if some one sells some one buys.

does anyone know about some new legistlaion about companies being liable for their packaging disposal. this could be VERY beneficial for us (and SEO i guess :-P) if it happens which i am led to beleive it will. biodegradable packaging here we come!

bhunt1910 - 21 Apr 2005 15:54 - 3229 of 27111

Yes - there is legislation being introduced from the EEC - not sure when it is due though

I quote from a Which report published last week

" New EU rules mean the UK government is now under pressure to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill sites - or it could face huge fines. As a result there is more pressure on companies to reduce packaging or reformulate to make it easier to recycle."

and another quote
" A spokesperson for one major supermarket who did not want to be named told us that There is a lot of green washing going on in the Industry, He beleives environmental initialtives are often seen as just another marketing opportunity"

Lets hope so

ok , ok. reveal yourself! who is the big spender who bought 5 shares just before 4 o'clock?

sidtrix - 21 Apr 2005 16:27 - 3231 of 27111

That was one of the SEO directors... He's quite positive about tomorrows AGM so he thought he'd skip lunch today and reinvest the money which he saved for his sandwiches in SHARES!!!

Common thats a signal...every dive in :)

bhunt1910 - 21 Apr 2005 16:35 - 3232 of 27111

I had to gigle at that - it was probably a typo - the same guy that went in later and bought 500,000 - twice!!!

robinhood - 21 Apr 2005 16:36 - 3233 of 27111

the 5 shares after commission in and out must rise 20 fold (ie to 400 p /s) to breakeven...Hey we are all feeling good about this one but this is getting silly

ptholden - 21 Apr 2005 16:50 - 3234 of 27111

I recall reading somewhere that exceptionally small trades are a signal from one trader to others to either buy or sell. Can't remember where or if there is any truth in it. Would like to know more, if anyone else has any ideas?

Regards

Good point you make about legislation and packaging disposal for the biodegradable side of the business,

As for the tray lidding, we now have proof of packaging companies suffering due to high energy costs this is affecting the cost's of there materials plastic's etc. In the Torygraph today 21/04/2005 (Quester) is reporting on Smith DS how it has just had a 2.5m hit in its results (Update) Trading Statement (packaging division) as a result of high oil prices, that I am sure are here to stay.
This is why the 10000 tons of plastic saving using seos technology will be very much in demand by these companies.

Taken from Smiths Trading Statement

Results in Plastic Packaging have been adversely affected in the second half of
the year by the sharp rise in polymer prices which are now some 35-40% higher
than at the start of this financial year for our main polymer types. Although
we have raised our selling prices several times during the year, it has not been
possible to recover these cost increases in full. The cumulative effect of this
under-recovery on the division's result for the year is expected to be
approximately 2.5 million.

4 million buys in the last half an hour - something is brewing for tomorrow guys?

driver: my triangle was actually a flag. No matter, we've broken through that anyway and are in new ground. It feels good. In the mountains looking down on the world. There's bos playing his sax; there's pth practising his putting for golf day. All very heady. I suggested that today would see an early fall with return to status quo. Well, we'd done that bit by 09:00 and then onwards and upwards. Poor noggodynog does occasional plaintiff posts but is probably not read because he has been squelched. I wonder what vile substance emerged; like that old Doctor Who squelch from the underworld.

2.6m trade buy after hours; building up stock for tomorrow so as not to be caught short, like Paula Radcliffe in the marathon! There's no resistance level left so market will have to find its own level. There are certain to be questions asked about US and Walmart so the easy way may be for them to make a statement that either the deal is done or test marketing is being undertaken or whatever. These Premier and Advanced engineers are being trained because it is known that they are going straight home to start retrofits; what other reason? Should also get the ASDA supplier trials completed and the 12 month exclusivity clock ticking. What's that worth to the share price. May complete Zak's second phase to 30P. The point about stock shortage (I think driver who is an observant sort of fellow; not good looking but observes good lookers!) is relevant. If there are only 200million shares potentially available and we are getting demand at 10million a day; what happens when that demand jumps - the sp is the only thing to give so it could get ahead of itself. Take your profits? Perhaps some of them but the question then is 'how far ahead'. The current gradient is 4p a quarter, so 30p is 2 months ahead; 50p would be 7 months ahead, so Xmas has come early! But don't dilute the holding too much as the gradient says 2 by end of next year. Uncle Eric has spoken!
