Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

OFFICIAL: “Online Resistance movement right on the button, Westminster MPs off in la-la-land” says new ICM research
By John Ward December 27, 2013
Just one person in 50 is inspired by politicians. Chances are they’re politicians.
About three years ago, I posted something (sorry, can’t find it) which asked why nobody was doing market research about how people feel about the political system, rather than individual issues or Party popularity. But now at last a new Guardian/ICM poll has done just that. Nothing whatever in it is surprising. But for any experienced observer of democratic politics, it is nothing short of terrifying.
Only 2% of those questions found any politicians inspiring.
Asked for the single word best describing “how or what you instinctively feel” about politics and politicians in general, 47% of respondents answered “angry”.
Take a squint at this chart about ‘what comes to mind when you think about voting:

It doesn't matter if the public thinks that Osborne or Balls is right about cost of living conditions. The policies will continue anyway. What matters is who is actually right. Osborne is planning that as the economy improves next year living standards will improve, probably towards the end of the year. It should be just in time for a feel good period before the election. It doesn't really matter what the public think day to day. The only time it matters is at the time of an election.

Hays,
HO, HO, Ho.
Seasons greetings!
It would seem that you support the unscrupulous manipulation of the economy at the expense of the country and the general public, for corrupt political gains. (Even personal gains.)
Mind it is what I would expect of you and the present con party leadership.
But I don’t think the voters will be as gullible as you think, and many of the unpleasant effects and failings Osborne's policies will be seem, understood and felt.
They will be listed at the time of the next election!

of course, some morons don't bother to vote anyway, so they get the gov't they deserve, even if they will continue whine and whinge and gripe incessantly from here to there and onwards to eternity

I didn't say they were deliberately manipulating the economy for political benefit. I said it would turn out to be beneficial for an election. The timescales happen to coincide. And yes, I do think the public are gullible. They always have been in the past. The running of the economy is what was necessary. You may not like it, but you have to put up with it especially as you do not vote. That means your voice will not be heard at the only time it matters.

As I said, it doesn't matter what the public think about the Osborne/Ball fight. It only matters who ends up right.
So far Balls has scored zero right. The odds are that he will be wrong again.

Cynic,
You seemed to be more and more constipated.
Why don't you flush yourself out with a pint or two of milk of magnesia.
It looks just like milk and would do the world a lot of good.

Balls has been correct all along he warned that we would flat line and we did, in fact we missed a triple dip recession by the skin of our teeth not forgetting we lost our AAA rating twice and Osborne made a mess of two budgets and two autumn statements.
By all means you stay in denial Hays but the public arent with you and the EEC elections will see UKIP causing mass panic amongst Tory Ranks.

The Chancellor that Hazyone and Manuel venerate and the CON party put in charge as there wasn’t any other in the party able to count!
Tremendous experience of home economics.
From Wicked:
"Osborne is one of the old Anglo-Irish aristocracy, known in Ireland as the Ascendancy. He is the heir apparent to the Osborne baronetcy.[3][4] He was educated at St Paul's School, London, and Magdalen College, Oxford, before working for the Conservative Party as a researcher, special adviser, speechwriter, and strategist. In 2005, he ran David Cameron's successful party-leadership campaign and was made Shadow Chancellor.
After graduating in 1992, Osborne did a few part-time jobs including as a data entry clerk, typing the details of recently deceased into a NHS computer database.[13] He also briefly worked for a week at Selfridges, mainly re-folding towels.[13]
In 1993, Osborne originally intended to pursue a career in journalism. He was shortlisted for but failed to gain a place on The Times trainee scheme, and instead did freelance work on the Peterborough diary column of The Daily Telegraph. Some time later, an Oxford friend of his, journalist George Bridges, alerted Osborne to a research vacancy at Conservative Central Office.[13]"

Some think he still has his nappies changed for him by Aschroft.
