A new thread that may swim in hibernation for a few days or weeks as the process of evolution takes place ......
Imagine a slimmed down debt free company with one division stacked with orders and self financing with cash in the bank.
Then imagine a partner for the other division with pockets so deep that they could fund a rocket to the moon ..... and back
Dreaming of course but Tads can do that to you ..... what a gem or is that a bygone dream as well .....

Tadpole-Cartesia partners with lead contractor ESRI (UK) to enhance mapping
processes at Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI)
Tadpole's expertise will enable real time geospatial uploads to digital maps
from the field
###
Edinburgh, June 5, 2003 - Tadpole-Cartesia today announces a #200,000
contract from ESRI (UK), the leading provider of mapping and GIS solutions
in the UK and Ireland, to support the development and deployment of a new
enterprise-wide Mapping Information Database and Surveying system (known as
MIDAS within OSNI) for Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland.
Under terms of the contract, Tadpole-Cartesia will bring its field system
deployment expertise to ESRI (UK) enabling OSNI's field surveyors to update
new data to the mapping system in real time from any location.
MIDAS will be based upon the latest version of ESRI's ArcGIS mapping
products. It will allow OSNI to introduce integrated workflow across its
extended organisation and the identification of real world change through to
the update of its digital map database. All OSNI large-scale data will be
managed and maintained within a single spatial relational database
management system (RDBMS).
The new ArcGIS-based system will support office and field based workflows,
and enable digital map data to be updated in real time via photogrammetric
workstations and mobile computer systems. The solution is expected to
provide substantial improvements to OSNI's current workflows, resulting in
increased levels of productivity.
Andy Coote, consultancy services director of ESRI (UK), comments: "ESRI (UK)
and Tadpole aim to be the system vendors-of-choice to national mapping
agencies. This new generation system will meet OSNI's short, medium and
long-term requirements and ensure the continued accuracy of mapping data."
Mark Ketteman, Tadpole-Cartesia's general manager, adds: "Clearly, Tadpole
is delighted to again partner with ESRI (UK) to bring currency and accuracy
to the maps of national mapping agencies. This latest contract with OSNI is
indicative of the strength of our strategic relationship and combined
expertise."

I note they usually only give out bits and pieces when GEM is not running or has nearly ended
the 15 days must be really close to ending now
I assume they will just give them some of the OS UK technology so although it is small beer it should pay for ETI for a month or so
I also note from ESRI's website

we can live and hope
good day to you all - off to see the Oaks tomorrow ;-)
