i don't buy (or sell!) conspiracy theories ..... though directors often have a pretty shrewd idea of what numbers are going to be like and, time windows permitting, may well take advantage of same, i do not believe it possible for the market in a company as big as LLOY to be manipulated in the way you suggest

A woman who was sexually assaulted by a youth who came to this country as an immigrant has finally won her nine-year battle to see him deported.
Gabrielle Browne was out training for the London Marathon when Mohamed Kendeh pinned her down and tried to rape her.
His crimes include burglary, arson and robbery as well as a total of 11 sex assaults.
But he was allowed to stay in Britain because of Article 8 of the Human Rights Act – his right to a ‘private and family life’.
Undeterred by a string of immigration court rulings and failures by the police and prosecutors, Mrs Browne pursued

Civil servants have been slammed for spending thousands of pounds and four months on a costly review into how they open their morning post.
Bosses ordered staff to carry out the investigation into the procedure of opening envelopes at Coventry’s Land Registry office.
After four months and at a cost of £5,000, the review simply recommended

From this week's Shares Mag:
"By Vishala Sri-Pathma.
Sell Lloyds (LLOY) ahead of next week’s (24 Feb) interim results, which are likely unveil further hefty write downs. Whilst the lender should have benefitted from its limited exposure to the volatile investment banking arena, analysts expect another year of losses due to the £3.2 billion payment protections insurance (PPi) provisions taken in the fi rst half of 2011, as well as £1.4 billion in restructuring costs.
The FTse 100 constituent still faces a number of challenges and is yet to reach an agreement on the scale of its disposal branch network, for which the Co-operative Bank has preferred bidder status. In its third-quarter trading update (8 nov ‘11), the banking group suggested the deteriorating economic backdrop could impede its efforts to reach its return on equity (Roe) target of 12.5% to 14.5% by 2014. Sector peer Barclays (BARC) last week (10 Feb) dropped its 13% Roe goal for 2013, citing regulatory capital requirements.
The return of group chief executive officer, Antonio Horta-osorio, is encouraging but his movements will be monitored closely following last year’s leave of absence due to fatigue.
Shares says: SELL Lloyds at 35p."

You are asking the wrong person!!! I still have my stock, nicely in profit and have been holding on for +37p, but it seems reluctant to get there again (Pure greed on my part!). Shares Mag is only expressing an opinion and they do get it wrong sometimes. If it gets back to 36p I think I will cash in.
