The market overall has dropped since Madrid, I am not to worried about the fall as I think there will be an improvement but as with all shares in this category we will have to be a little more patient

astonvilla - 15 Mar 2004 22:31 - 22 of 45

I am a fan of this stock, it also seems to be a well traded stock. There products are good, the big one is released in the Autumn and hopefully they will get plenty of pre-sales ready for the launch date. I have invested in this stock but my views are that it could be the autumn time before you see some movement. Like any stock it depends on any trading statements. I guess they would not have made any serious sales with regards to the 'bird flu' as it has not spread as much. I am not an expert on the MM's but It looks to me as they are just playing around with it a little. If I had some spare cash I would top-up at the current price. Any other thoughts?

windys160 - 16 Mar 2004 20:28 - 23 of 45

i agree this would be a good time to top up at this level, i feel that over time the only way is up !! :-)). Looking forward to next year when the big one is in full swing.

homergibson - 07 Apr 2004 17:32 - 24 of 45

omh should start moving north for results in july and news releases and product launches from september onwards. Definitely good medium to long term investment.

overgrowth - 09 Apr 2004 18:12 - 25 of 45

Plenty of news on its way (curteousy of Prof. Higgins on iii):

"Q2 2004 Pre-clinical trial data from VIP 5
Q3 2004 Final results
Q3 2004 Launch of Connectivity software
Q3 2004 Launch of Updated OPTI CCA New screen
Q3 2004 Clinical trial data from VIP 5
Q4 2004 Launch of Dry calibration cassette, easier to ship
Q4 2004 Launch of Electrolyte only product w/vetinary application
Q4 2004 Launch of Comfort sampler
Q4 2004 Submission of VIP 5 to FDA
Q1 2004 Interim results
Q1 2005 Launch of OPTI R, aimed at higher end users
Q4 2005 Launch of VIP 5

There is also a strong possibility that VIP 5 will be launched in the Far East in late 2004 where the stringent requirements set down by the FDA are not required."

windys160 - 28 Apr 2004 19:10 - 26 of 45

starting to move again now, could we see the 5p mark broken for good this time? let's hope so, plenty going on this year so let's hope the price will reflect the activity all good news from here on in, well worth a punt at this price :-)

overgrowth - 28 Apr 2004 20:52 - 27 of 45

This has been a "Jam Tomorrow" company for as long as I can remember, when it becomes a "Jam Today" company mid. this year onwards - we'll really see some price movement.

jj50 - 28 Apr 2004 21:19 - 28 of 45

I have bought and sold Osmetech over the past couple of years always tucking away a healthy profit. I think the dollar weakness has affected it of late but the more research I do, the more I think there is future potential. Nice to see the small gain today in a fairly dismal market.

windys160 - 29 Apr 2004 07:12 - 29 of 45

give it another year and i think you could see some real jam coming our way, once all the projects have been launched and under way they should start bringing some serious money home for this company :-))

babykitcat - 10 Aug 2004 23:31 - 30 of 45

i hold well in excess of 100,000 shares in this company and back it all the way i feel this company is going to grow at a nice pace in the coming 2 years what are other peoples thoughts since the results have just come out?

windys160 - 11 Aug 2004 13:57 - 32 of 45

why is the price falling so much on this share, should be rising surely :-((

teletigger - 11 Aug 2004 18:46 - 33 of 45

I'm happy to see this share fall...because I will be piling in.
regards

RoyMarklove - 11 Aug 2004 19:20 - 34 of 45

I think the fall in the share price is due to the lethargy in the stock market as a whole, I am not expecting any significant increase until there is a consistent improvement in the market generally. Have a little more patience and I believe we will be rewarded in due course.

babykitcat - 12 Aug 2004 11:08 - 35 of 45

i currently hold in excess of 100000 shares in omh and rate them 100% what are other peoples views as i feel these shares are now under priced!

DITCHPIG - 12 Aug 2004 14:38 - 36 of 45

I currently hold in excess of 2,000,000 shares in omh and I am not even slighty concerned about this short term drop. Read the results digest what is going on.
This is a post from III which I think nicely sums up the current position.

EVO and co are predicting 2007 (for profitability). Personally I think that is bollox and is probably just another one of their games to help keep the share price low. EVO have called it wrong by a significant amount for both previous sets of results so I would take any predication they make as the worst possible scenario.

VIP is on target to launch during 2005 in to a vast multi billion dollar market. James White has said that the company should start to see some substantial benefit from the IDEXX deal late 2004. The company have said that just one of the IDEXX deals could see the number of OPTI machines in use double. The ComfortSampler could do $1m-$2m sales within 2-3 years alone. Starting to see the picture yet?

Year end 2003 the company had 3,238,833 in the bank. Year end 2004 the company still had 3,172,317 mln in the bank.

The company has managed to launch three new products, continued to develop VIP and the new OPTI machines and has only had to spend 36,526 of its cash reserve to achieve this.

It is far more sensible at this stage for the company to reinvest the profits from OPTI heavily in R&D and continue to show a loss rather than declaring a taxable profit just to appease impatient shareholders. Its far better to accrue tax losses now to offset against future profits.

Before we move in to profit which I estimate could be by early 2006, my guess is that we will see another share issue similar to the one last October to finance another acquisition. This is why I think EVO are working overtime to keep the share price in its current trading range. After the acquisition there will be a share consolidation which will more the company out of penny status and put it back on the radar of the institutions. After that a move back to the main index and possible a listing in the US.
Any one else care to speculate?

Ditchpig

Everything this company is doing appears to be spot on, medium to long term the SP will reflect their efforts and reward the shareholders. Companies that are producing good results, without a hike in the SP seem to be ten a penny at the moment. Becoming my mantra, but patience is the key.

Investors Chronical :-

Osmetech has totally changed since making last year's acquisition of Roche's OPTI blood-gas analyser business. Run by chief executive James White, Osmetech used to be something of a 'jam tomorrow' proposition, developing its enose diagnostic product for vaginal infections. However, Osmetech now has a salesforce and revenues.
The enose product, now known as VIP, is awaiting approval by the US Food and Drug Administration ahead of its launch in 2005. But there should be plenty of demand given that the rise in sexually transmitted diseases, such as Chlamydia, is still an issue and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. Osmetech plans to distribute the product through its own salesforce.
Meanwhile, its OPTI business benefited from 1m in one-off Sars-related sales to China, and the company is to launch five new products this year. Its new critical-care analyser was successfully unveiled at the American Association of Clinical Chemists Conference. Osmetech has also signed a manufacturing and distribution deal with US animal health diagnostics company IDEXX. Mr White is looking out for further potential product or company acquisitions in the OPTI mould. House broker Evolution Beeson Gregory forecasts pre-tax losses of 2.1m for 2005.

IC View: Osmetech remains loss-making, but claims it has enough cash to last until it reaches profitability. With the revenues from OPTI, potential upside from the IDEXX deal, and next year's launch of VIP, 2005 looks promising. Good value.

I've held this stock for over 4 years now; still have the 1024 shares I purchased at 27 pence or very near.

Went in again last Autumn for about 4.05 pence for 50,000 shares, and will go in again for some more today.

Lets get everything into perspective here.......
These guys (if indeed it all works out) will not only make millions on sales across varying markets (Sars/Medical/Veterinary & Explosive testing equipment)but just for the vaginal smear product alone, they will save the industry many more millions.

That product alone will return instant medical results, thus knocking weeks off testing samples, which will save even more money and of course lives.

I say Buy and Hold fast - it was money we were willing to believe in once and I say stick with this market. Medical will always have to improve.
