TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 02 Jul 2005 01:46

Hello,

As you can see, we have put the new bulletin boards live.

The migration went smoothly, though it look at little longer than I expected it to!

If you notice any problems on the boards, please post below.

Hi,

I've just made some changes to the bulletinboard which I'm hoping will make it more responsive.

Feel free to let me know if you notice any difference.

Jon - the new board reduced access speed for me by a factor of about 5. I didn't complain because any time anyone mentions speed, it's always held to be 'their' fault!

But now access speed is back to 'normal' - excellent! So it was your fault after all:-)

Jon,

A factor of 5? Really? That's bizarre.

If we are having problems with the site, we are honest about it, and it's not always our users' fault ;)

I added some indexes to a few of the tables and it appears to have worked. Hurrah.

Jon - perhaps 5 was a slight exaggeration; it always seems a long time when you're waiting for something to load. Maybe 3 would be nearer.

And indeed, what most, I think, like about AM is the fact that you are so responsive, and hold your hand up if a problem is your end. So I'll take back 'always', and substitute 'usually':-)

I posted links today for the first time.

Thanks for making it "muppet-friendly"
