The nice graphs showing the declining price of gas has nothing to do with the fall.
Not being childish bitter or twisted, you thought you were being smart posting the news paper reporters were just out of school.
Explain to me the reason why you thought people were about to lose money did you know back in the middle october that ive was going to have an issue with metro?
My motto is you win some you lose some, but when you get people lurking about threads when the dont hold shares deramping and posting negative charts is not in anybody's interest but there own nasty agenda.

and people, like myself, go into shares knowing the risks and probably knowing that, particularly in the current market, that they will probably loose their investment or that it will be substantially marked down along the way....we know the risks.. ..it's all part of the fun (I don't put money into shares I can't afford to loose)... it's our decision and don't need anyone deramping/commenting on our positions...(particularly if they don't hold the share in question)

If you put money into a share knowing that you're 'probably' going to lose it, then I can only say you are either crazy or stupid.
Shares like anything else is a risk/reward ratio. High risk for little chance of reward is the reason the world is in this mess in the first place!

with AIM stocks it's a whole lot more riskier to start with... of course you only put your money into what seems like a good bet in the first place, but with time....
anyway I'm still happy to stay with IVE..still think it will come good but rewards will be delayed somewhat.

Okay john - good luck with your investment, btw I have stated I am an ex holder, now why do you think I sold before the drop?
You will not need to guess for too long.
Now grow up, theres a good boy
As a ps I am sure this will turn around, eventually.
Is that called deramping then?

Why is it anyone who posts a negative remark on a stock is deemed a deramper, shorting scum or some other unsuitable insult? BB's are for sharing opinions, which naturally will be different dependant on stance and if we didn't hold deiffering opinions stocks would never be bought or sold. John, you disparaged Poo's observation and it's come back to bite you in the arse, shame you couldn't accept he was right you were wrong with some grace. None of us are right all the time and if you post a public opinion you have to be willing to take the inevitable flak (or sometime applause!) Hope this turns around for you :)

ptholden,
Enlighten me as to why you think poo was right, if he was right and the reason he had for the price fall was the price of gas falling i would have now problem excepting that.
I dont post here very often and had forgot all about poo but on the morning of the 11th here's poo helping his fellow investors not, i would call this gloating.

Looks like you guys are lucky. Mahalo Energy looking to increase their oil and gas fields in Oklahoma. Also interested in the other Irvine leases as long as Oklahoma included. Irvine very keen to sell so expect developments shortly.

Well, I'm out of Irvine at the moment, sold half my holding over 2-3 weeks ago to buy another company with good long-term prospects but one which is cash rich and cash generative with a forward PE of around 1. The reasons for selling IVE, oil and gas prices falling, IVE not cash rich and would shale gas be profitable at current levels even if the currently drilling proves good? Having the stuff there is only any use if they have the dosh to extract it and they can make a profit selling it and that may mean waiting until the oil/gas prices increase. I also had high hopes for IVE but now wish I'd stayed out when first stopped on the first market crash day back in September but like a fool I bought them back at a lower price later that week and pocketed the difference. Looked like a good move at the time but not now. How I wish I'd followed my instinct and sold the lot 3 weeks ago for the reasons that I sold 50% but I kept clinging to the idea that a good drill result from shale or cbm would impact the sp or that a larger company would buy them out.
So I've been away and got an e-mail to tell me my remaining shares stopped out early Tuesday morning. What to do now, for me I will watch what happens but at the moment I am more inclined to put my money into companies with no debt or small gearing and with no near maturity dates on loans which could kill them off.
I have a shortlist of stocks and buying prices based upon making long-term profits in 2-3year timescale as daily/weekly movements are too extreme.
The USA is in the shit, I'm here at moment. Oil at $54 could go down to $42 as companies who bought long in the summer when $100 and rising to $145 are now being forced to sell. Many hedge funds likely to go bust and unwinding positions to attempt to survive. Intel has issued profit warning and announced reduced capital expenditure and so sorting the banks out will do nothing unless people start spending money again.
Watch Irvine very carefully, provided that oil/gas does not continue to slide and providing they sort out the funding then this could represent an opportunity, otherwise the only hope is a sale of assets to survive or a take-over by a larger player mopping up acreage for future use as and when oil prices recover.
Good Luck

Thanks ptholden
john50 is obviously nursing a loss which is causing him to be silly.
I hope it's not too large and that he can recover when the global upturn arrives, however it is clear that he has nothing intelligent or useful to contribute anywhere imo.
His posts are now removed from my account using the squelch button.
It is a though he had never been born.
What power!
(This dubious honour is shared with potatohead btw!!! lol)
