Nice spikes at 10 am - made 40 pretty safe points, but should have been a lot more, I suppose. I assume it was the Italian figures?

hilary - 23 Sep 2005 10:25 - 4462 of 11056

No. It was because of the Yuan.

China widens yuan/non-dollar trading band to 3 pct from 1.5 pct

G'morning :)

MightyMicro - 23 Sep 2005 12:00 - 4464 of 11056

Morning all.

markusantonius - 23 Sep 2005 13:12 - 4465 of 11056

MG, you have mail, sir...

hilary - 25 Sep 2005 16:15 - 4466 of 11056

Errrrrrrm. They seem to have updated the calendar in PDF this week, but not in GIF. Maybe the Fairy will try it a bit later on.

MightyMicro - 25 Sep 2005 16:50 - 4467 of 11056

Hil: I noticed that, minor cockup in the calendar department.

I'll have a word with the FX Fairy . . .

MightyMicro - 26 Sep 2005 09:01 - 4469 of 11056

Morning all.

I expect the good folks at DailyFX will fix their weekly Calendar at some point.

Meanwhile, for your comfort and convenience, the FX Fairy has added a link to the PDF of the Calendar in the header.

chocolat - 26 Sep 2005 09:11 - 4470 of 11056

Cheers MM :)

MightyMicro - 26 Sep 2005 16:33 - 4471 of 11056

The FX Fairy has had an e-chat with the good folks at DailyFX in New York and normal Calendar service has been resumed.

hilary - 26 Sep 2005 16:53 - 4472 of 11056

Well I vote that the FX Fairy should put in for promotion (and a pay rise!).

MightyMicro - 26 Sep 2005 20:05 - 4473 of 11056

Aw shucks, it were nuthin', Ma'am . . .

mg - 28 Sep 2005 08:31 - 4475 of 11056

Doing a bit of bottom fishing - or I hope I am (60 minute and 240 minute MACDs).

Been long since yesterday from 681, 666 and 645.. Off oooop North so leaving them (hopefully) to mature or (tragically) to bomb - stops in @ 600.

Away for the rest of the week so trade well all you FOREX Freaks ;)

mg - 29 Sep 2005 08:23 - 4476 of 11056

I know I'm not supposed to be here but looking in from Hotel room whilst waiting to go to meeting - looks as if I escaped by the skin of my fore - they're all still alive - amazingly - so I'm gonna leave them over the weekend

hilary - 29 Sep 2005 12:08 - 4477 of 11056

mg,

The EUR/USD 1.1980 - 1.2080 is the tightest prolonged range of the year so far. The breakout from that range could be the precursor of a much bigger and harder move. As well as having a 1.76 cable long stop, a sell order on a move lower might be useful. The Dollar bulls might not be ready to give up the fight just yet and one theory doing the rounds is that they're currently setting a bear trap, just waiting for a large unsuspecting punter to step into it. Time will tell.

Personally I couldn't care less which way it goes .......... just so long as it goes soon as it's a yawn atm.

Maggot - 29 Sep 2005 19:29 - 4478 of 11056

Oh dear, mg. Looks like it was hit for about one minute at 15.44 today.

mg - 30 Sep 2005 10:09 - 4479 of 11056

Ooops - just popped in to see that I've been blown away. Should have quit whilst I was ahead.

Never mind - back to drawing board next week.

Hils - thanks for your take on the situation.
