A price of 50p+ gives a market cap. of over 124m. EVS is a small niche reseller of wholesale telecoms capcity. The major carriers would have crushed them long before that.

Truest thing he ever said !! LOL !! MoneyAM have made sure of that !

People were saying that EVS rose on low volume before. Well it is plainly NOT true.

The rise in March was due to three days of very high volume. They were 12m, 28m and 34m shares.

The rise now is just MM activity and it should be down again pretty soon.

Captain Beefheart - 28 May 2005 15:54 - 445 of 1643

This is a great BB. I can't believe my luck - "he who must not be named" filtered and totally ignored by everyone and then the "piece de resistance" Muffy geting banned. Truly there must be a God. I almost forgot to mention the 12% rise in EVS, I believe this to be primarily a technical correction but momentum is now building in my view towards the trading statement due in June. This bodes well for the SP and I am looking for it to get above 5.4 where I believe it will find solid support.

insiderinside - 28 May 2005 16:08 - 446 of 1643

Advan - well - won the bet as its nearer to 4p - a technical correction up was due along with the speculators in for a June or July trading update.

Interesting as to where this goes - the Seymour report was done at a much lower price now - so you have to rework the figures at todays price - it may not still be at bargain levels now - that will only be confirmed or denied after results.

A trading update remains the key now and will either give a rise up or a fall down - depending on how those margins at Seven Telecom have been - I hope its not a washout update - saying lots of things about the launch of CCR and a small bit about Seven.

My concern is whether the L+G fund raising is being used a working capital ? Is it or are they going to use it for what they said about acquisitions ?

FLOPPYJOE - 28 May 2005 18:37 - 447 of 1643

The buying limit for the past few days has shrunk to 50k,sometimes even 25k so the market makers are getting short of stock.I somehow feel the shake has put the shares into the hands of people who are here for far longer than a week.Best of luck to all really long term holders.Ive got mine have you got yours.

Haystack - 28 May 2005 19:08 - 448 of 1643

Even Seymour Pierce only has a target of 6.5p and house brokers are usually over optimistic if anything.

tangle - 28 May 2005 21:02 - 449 of 1643

Hi FLOPPYJOE :-)

Been buying these since December when they were about 2p, topping up along the way when funds permitted. Have an average sp of 5.02p as bought quite a few above 6p. Wish I had some spare dosh to buy some more but hey, I've got nearly 250k and that will have to do for now.

I feel quite happy and content to hold these for the long term and get maximum tax breaks, assuming they progress in the manner we anticipate that they will do in the next few years. Fingers xx'd.

FLOPPYJOE - 28 May 2005 21:34 - 450 of 1643

Same here Tangle.Virtually exactly avg price for me also. Two things that spring to my mind are that both L&G and Strathclyde bought in at much higher levels.I cannot believe that they havent come back in at these prices, but i have also noticed that the max buy limits have substantially reduced.I am convinced some good news is just around the corner especially after such a big rise yesterday.Remember there are only 247 million shares in circulation, not that many if some of the big guns start hoovering them up.My problem i suppose is that i am indeed a long term holder and get a bit cheesed off with these daytraders/week long holders who see a 1/2p rise and then they ditch them all.Patience is what is needed with these smaller companies.Best of luck.Lets hope this time next year we are both smiling getting our villas ordered.

Don't forget then when EVS announced the setting up of CCR a couple of months ago, they spoke of profitability within 18 months.

That sort of time scale means no contribution to pofits from CCR for quite a while yet and initially it would have a negative effect as you can't run a business for free.

IT may have given Marconi the cold shoulder, but BT looks something of a hot stock these days. Originally one half of the Post Office, the telecoms giant is still the UKs leading fixed-line operator.
However, it faces intense competition from upstarts such as Carphone Warehouses rapidly-expanding TalkTalk service, OneTel and Swedish group Tele2.
Earlier this week it emerged that internet service provider AOL was to open a new front in the cut-throat battle for control of Britains residential phone market.
No surprise then to find BT chasing new business elsewhere, with management highlighting the continued growth in "new wave" products such as broadband and networking services.
If the new-look BT is to keep the City on its side, it will need to continue dialling up solid earnings figures.

Troubled telecoms firm 'cautious but encouraged'
LOSS-MAKING business telecoms group Thus today remained wary about its outlook, but said recent strong growth had encouraged it.

Glasgow-based Thus, which posted a 71 per cent rise in annual operating losses to 36.3 million, said it was staying cautious about the future market structure for telecoms services in the UK.

It added that it was expecting the AGGRESSIVE PRICING in the industry to continue throughout the year.

However, Thus said it had retained all its customers during the year, despite the particularly tough price competition.

It said 16 of its top 20 clients had increased their business with it and new business had come from firms including radio groups GWR and Chrysalis, publishers Johnston Press and Archant, Glasgow City Council and South London & Maudsley NHS Trust.

Finance director John Maguire described the year as mixed, with MARGINS SQUEEZED by predatory pricing.

What is the point to your post 452. There is no relevance in there to anything that EVS does. EVS is dealing in international calls and not Uk residential calls.

This shows that you don't have clue about EVS and what they do.

You've just joined your mate H in my filter pit.

Is that the best you can do?

tangle - 29 May 2005 23:43 - 456 of 1643

As far as I'm aware you certainly can use CCR for cheaper UK residential calls.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

A large part of what CCR does is UK residential calls.

CCR have an uphill battle to gain any serious market share. Even AOL are now offering a service for 7.99/month and you get to call all UK landlines for free. This is just one of dozens of special deals that will be coming out very soon. This is a cut throat businss with margins getting tighter all the time. The very ease of use of the CCR service is also its potential downfall. You can switch away from CCR at a moment's notice.

Dear AOL Member,

We've got some great news for you. As part of our commitment to deliver the best value to our members, we are delighted to announce the launch of AOL Talk, our new home phone service.

AOL is extending the unlimited philosophy that we apply to our Internet services to our new home phone service. AOL Talk allows you to make unlimited phone calls to UK landline numbers for 7.99 per month and is only available to AOL members.

QUINAN - 30 May 2005 08:19 - 459 of 1643

Well Insider you have just summed up why EVS is doing so well all the big boys are struggling against competition such as Envesta telecom.

While call quality in the UK is generally taken for granted now, when routing calls to the far flung corners of the world quality is crucial. opening up new routes to Africa and Asia at greater margins to the Company.

Specialising in high quality call termination predominantly into the African and Asian markets, Seven Telecom has a wealth of experience selling into the Calling Card market, carefully choosing Wholesale partners with proven track records of quality distribution.

Interconnecting to the best quality Tier 1 operators, Seven Telecom's quality is assured. This combined with an infrastructure including VoIP technology ensures Seven Telecom is future proofed and able to benefit from the Next Generation Network that is currently being implemented throughout the industry.
Seven Telecom has a simple unique network, real-time software is used to enable live feeds from the switches and billing systems giving profitability and connectivity rates on a call by call basis, the moment that any international route performs below set parameters the carrier in place is automatically changed.
This ensures that Seven Telecom are amongst the industry leaders for quality call termination.

The Telecommunication market in South Africa is well developed compared to other African countries. A major part of the 46.8 million populations has shifted from fixed telephony market to mobile subscriptions. The current mobile subscriber base is three times the size of the fixed line market

Figures from our research show that South African youth are spending more as a % of their disposable income on mobile products and services than the majority of developed countries. This signifies the importance of the service in this market and potential for long term growth...

Mobile phone use in Africa is growing faster than anywhere else in the world, according to a report. The study, by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), said African countries with greater mobile use had seen a higher rate of economic growth.

China is the worlds largest telecoms market by subscribers, with 316 million fixed-line users and 340 million mobile users at the end of January, Xinhua also reported on Tuesday, citing new data from the MII. The new fixed-line figure represented an increase of 3.2 million subscribers from the end

Nigeria is one of the fastest growing mobile markets in Africa. With a population of 130 million people out of which nearly 75.2 million people work and a GDP of $60 bn , mobile network operators are having their hands full in servicing to this market. After nearly 16 years of military rule in Niger

International Data Corp. expects the Asia-Pacific region to experience rapid growth in 3G cellular use, particularly China. According to IDC, in 2004, there were just 10.2 million Asia-Pacific subscribers to 3G services, which provide high-speed data capabilities and advanced audio and video ...

Why EVS are targeting Ethnic minorities, they now account for 8% of UK citizens rising to 9% in England. Against the background of an ageing UK population, they also represent a valuable youth

And thats just for starters, EVS is in the niche market offering quality calls to some of the fastest growing countries in mobile and fixed line telecommunication. EVS has shown huge growth over the past year mainly due to people using there mobile phones instead of fixed lines. The margins are much grater through this and thus the growth for EVS will continue. And now with CCR on its books the expansion is set for a dramatic climb for the company.

FLOPPYJOE - 30 May 2005 09:13 - 460 of 1643

Must agree with your comments Quinan.Whatever CCR brings into EVS is a bonus, but more importantly that money has dripped away from some of the big boys out there. They wont like it one bit but there really are only 2 options availabe to them, either reduce their prices to suit which will reduce their margins or simply buy Envesta out lock stock and barrel. At these ridiculous prices i am amazed that one of the big players hasnt been sniffing around.Dont really want that scenario myself as we will be giving the company away.
