ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

Yes, but do they fit ? every time ?...Even those can vary Jimmy b....go from store to store and you will see.....this is a fabulous company and I'm kicking myself for not keeping the shares I had a few years ago...but I fear the sp is too high and that gravity (to use EK's words) might take over...

cynic - 10 Jan 2014 19:36 - 4762 of 5941

if you want to have good shoes that truly fit, then assuredly you at least have to know the make .... even then the last will vary from style to style

things that are loose fitting - e.g. sweaters and the like - are much easier to buy on line, provided you know which company makes the quality you are looking for .... even something as "simple" as lambswool can vary hugely in texture and quality .... cashmere is a whole new ballgame

Have a look at NBU Cynic....might do well in 2014...(chinese sportswear)...

jimmy b - 10 Jan 2014 19:56 - 4764 of 5941

Yes with shoes you know what your buying ,never buy clothes on line though ,i'm too fussy with the fit.

cynic - 10 Jan 2014 20:02 - 4765 of 5941

rf - is that a chinese company?

Adacol - 11 Jan 2014 09:41 - 4766 of 5941

My wife buys lots of clothes online.
If they do not fit or she just does not like them she can easily send them back.
She gets her money back and free return postage.
How do you think these companies survive selling clothes online?
She sends more back than she keeps!

Yes...but it seems to be doing quite well Cynic.

ASOS heading for a 6 billion pounds market cap !.....???...crazy...

cynic - 11 Jan 2014 14:49 - 4769 of 5941

clothes are a lot easier than shoes, that's for sure ......
ASC i think sells a whole mish mash of stuff from all over the place, whereas NXT for instance, sells just their own merchandise
it follows that if you know what size in Next you are, then you can buy on line in pretty good confidence that it will fit

with regard to ASC sp, i wait to see when the emperor's new clothes will register ..... for now, the city remians besotted

cynic - 12 Jan 2014 17:31 - 4770 of 5941

if i have read this correctly, assuming ASC meet the final quarter's numbers (+35%), then sp will be on a very modest p/e of 93
as with the dotcom companies, you can't possibly apply normal criteria with "emperor's new clothes"

tomasz - 12 Jan 2014 20:58 - 4771 of 5941

lol. as is not just cynic but selfmade-expert cynic..
so, how on earth he's come up with PE 93 at sp 7008 ?
1-wrong article
2-wrongly copying article
3-didnt see article (well well..the last resort) and did own calculations..on what earnings..can we learn?
or care..lol

dreamcatcher - 12 Jan 2014 21:12 - 4772 of 5941

Expected to show boooooooming growth on the 14th. :-))

tomasz - 12 Jan 2014 21:13 - 4773 of 5941

agree, business is flying.

dreamcatcher - 12 Jan 2014 21:16 - 4774 of 5941

We are all to lazy to leave the house. lol. I will listen for the 'Boom'. Plenty more left in the tank yet, imho.

dreamcatcher - 12 Jan 2014 21:19 - 4775 of 5941

I keep being told some of mine will fall, yes one day but in the mean time go with the flow. Good luck tomasz.

tomasz - 12 Jan 2014 21:33 - 4776 of 5941

thanks dc. exactly this is what's happening, flow is up, normal corrections, young loves online stuff- market is huge, model is great, moat is big..valuation "out of mind" but within the market rules.just believe :)

tomasz - 13 Jan 2014 08:10 - 4777 of 5941

Personaly i think 7000 in blue looks very sexy :-)

cynic - 13 Jan 2014 08:24 - 4778 of 5941

DC - Sunday Times Biz is whence i got my info .... it's quite a long article .... ST reckons t/o in Q4 to have gone from £249m last year to £335m, and on that basis, and to repeat above, assuming those figures are about right, then sp of £68.99 gives p/e of 93 on this year's earnings

i hold no position, so i have no axe to grind

tomasz - 13 Jan 2014 12:07 - 4779 of 5941

Lol. Cynic got axe to grind because he's holding so-called expert position here (and there).
As dc didnt laugh out (loudly) cynic's PE claims , cynic got no place to hide when is grabbed by the neck so is trying redirect from me.
This year earnings after not known q1 yet are what ? Or is it this year a past year ended in August ? If current FY than is EPS include fixed assets or without it or is china cost included or not ?
Im not sure we may find out from selfmade-based-on-articles expert..
Lol

tomasz - 13 Jan 2014 12:07 - 4780 of 5941

I bet he's digging down that article now..to see if is anything there about china..there will be nothing about fixed assets so he'll google it what is it...lol
