Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

cynic - 12 Oct 2010 09:19 - 4802 of 6492

no marky, it was (should have been!) an easy decision where your brain overruled your stomach!

Time Traveller - 12 Oct 2010 09:58 - 4803 of 6492

So now we know. It was Marky that caused the DES share price to fall as he offloaded a chunk of his shares. (;-))

chav - 13 Oct 2010 08:09 - 4804 of 6492

Got some more DES this morning ...nice drop:-)

required field - 13 Oct 2010 12:10 - 4805 of 6492

Twin peaks formation......a drop before drilling update ?...

markymar - 13 Oct 2010 12:15 - 4806 of 6492

Still over priced

required field - 13 Oct 2010 12:17 - 4807 of 6492

Might just pull back now....next few days.....down to 130p or so....

HARRYCAT - 13 Oct 2010 12:26 - 4808 of 6492

....but then it might not........

Proselenes - 13 Oct 2010 12:29 - 4809 of 6492

Personally do not care where it goes.

Top sliced a load in the 160's and that luckily was on hand to buy RKH under 360p today :)

Now I want it to go up with a Rachel strike of oil ! but am not concerned if it does not. The remaining holding will be half sold if DES goes above 290p on good news, or will be held for the next drill on failure.

required field - 13 Oct 2010 13:05 - 4810 of 6492

Starting to slide....

Proselenes - 13 Oct 2010 13:10 - 4811 of 6492

Probably cause RKH is cheap now that more people are top slicing DES to buy RKH.

required field - 13 Oct 2010 13:14 - 4812 of 6492

Nobody can call RKH cheap.....not at this price....600 million...cheap..?...nonsense....good value perhaps....

hlyeo98 - 13 Oct 2010 13:16 - 4813 of 6492

I feel DES will be a failure again.

required field - 13 Oct 2010 13:23 - 4814 of 6492

Nobody knows yet....could be a massive success.....toss a coin ?.

required field - 13 Oct 2010 14:01 - 4815 of 6492

Only take a nudge and this will drop....

mitzy - 13 Oct 2010 15:19 - 4816 of 6492
