Share dilution alert?

skinny - 23 Feb 2017 10:36 - 5085 of 5370

They form part of the staff incentive plan - so hopefully will be held long(er) term?

optomistic - 23 Feb 2017 10:44 - 5086 of 5370

Harrycat, do you know where do these shares come from, are they like QE and going to dilute further the stock?

HARRYCAT - 23 Feb 2017 10:52 - 5087 of 5370

I don't know exactly. My assumption was that they are newly issued which will increase the total shares in circulation and therefore, as Stan says, dilute the pot.

PERFORMANCE & REWARD

optomistic - 23 Feb 2017 10:59 - 5089 of 5370

Dilution it is then :-(

skinny - 23 Feb 2017 11:05 - 5090 of 5370

Is it that big a deal?

Lloyds have 50,604 million shares in issue.

They are issuing a further 110 million - to facilitate their staff incentive scheme(s).

This amounts to @0.22% of the total.

optomistic - 23 Feb 2017 11:14 - 5091 of 5370

skinny if the shares had been bought off the market it would have been going the 'better way' for me. After all share buy backs keep being mooted as a likelyhood.
I do however agree it is small figures really.

Well put Fred.

From yesterday.

"The amount of capital we believe is appropriate to hold is likely to vary from time to time depending on circumstances and the Board will continue to give due consideration, subject to the situation at the time, to the distribution of any surplus capital through the use of special dividends or share buy backs."

cynic - 23 Feb 2017 12:39 - 5095 of 5370

GS just have a mind to their own interests rather than that of their clients ..... thus i am always sceptical of their views, even though others in the market may pay attention to them
