<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

I thought of it but am a bit greedy and would kick myself if an rns appears with good news....

cynic - 27 Oct 2010 11:08 - 5162 of 6492

sellers out in force again, even with sp below 100 and still falling

required field - 27 Oct 2010 11:09 - 5163 of 6492

There can be leaks without reuters getting hold of it...somebody in Port Stanley that spots testing equipment going by helicopter...that sort of thing....

required field - 27 Oct 2010 11:12 - 5164 of 6492

For this to rise...even if it is not commercial but have encountered oil...and will return to drill again...that would be enough to send this upwards....

cynic - 27 Oct 2010 11:16 - 5165 of 6492

i'm not God, but i am 90% certain that this is just a massive bear squeeze as there are positions being closed again with sp now +/-110 ...... if you don't bank at least partial profits while they are on offer, you deserve to be fried alive

required field - 27 Oct 2010 11:23 - 5166 of 6492

The trouble is I'm not in profit....bought a bit higher before a month ago...already banked several times profits before but need an upswing to 130p again or anything above 110p for my last portion....and only a small position anyway....

cynic - 27 Oct 2010 11:24 - 5167 of 6492

wrong logic!

robstuff - 27 Oct 2010 11:27 - 5170 of 6492

unless they have struck this will really tank again

required field - 27 Oct 2010 11:29 - 5171 of 6492

My position is for short term or long term....not in any rush....but in hindsight would have sold at 128p unless....best not to have too many of these....(for the moment)....

required field - 27 Oct 2010 11:34 - 5172 of 6492

It will be interesting to see what Marky and Prosels will make of this....

skinny - 27 Oct 2010 11:39 - 5173 of 6492

And the FSA :-)

cynic - 27 Oct 2010 11:42 - 5174 of 6492

why on earth should FSA be interested?
it was (and is) a bear squeeze pure and simple ...... bravado and greed tempts me to short even now, but hope i shall resist

skinny - 27 Oct 2010 11:43 - 5175 of 6492

Lighten up cynic!

dealerdear - 27 Oct 2010 11:45 - 5176 of 6492

I've been sitting on big losses here and this has very fortunately given me the chance to get back to even. Sold at 126p and consider myself very lucky!

required field - 27 Oct 2010 12:01 - 5177 of 6492

It's off again 105p....

required field - 27 Oct 2010 12:02 - 5178 of 6492

Got to be some sort of leak....this is doing very well...

HARRYCAT - 27 Oct 2010 12:04 - 5179 of 6492

Or could be just the day traders playing the bounce on the chart.

dealerdear - 27 Oct 2010 12:04 - 5180 of 6492

Exactly.

RKH is still dropping which tells you a lot
