Consumer confidence index tumbles to 87.3 in Feb. from 96.8 in January.

Slimmer chance of any rate rise on those figures.

Tellon - 24 Feb 2004 15:18 - 522 of 11056

Nice... I got in at Beebles comment.. Nice info again beeble..

Keep them coming...

Beeblebrox - 24 Feb 2004 15:20 - 523 of 11056

tellon ;~)

Tellon - 24 Feb 2004 15:31 - 524 of 11056

Beeble what do you think it will rise too? You think it will brake 1.9150?

Beeblebrox - 24 Feb 2004 15:38 - 525 of 11056

yup, but when is the question,
my inclination is a small short very soon, c188.80ish
coz our cousins across the pond tend to overdo everything
and it's just started looking a bit toppy

mind you, i thought it would take till friday to get to 188.00,
so you pays yer money.........

p.s. if i do go short, the stop will be 189.20ish

Beeblebrox - 24 Feb 2004 16:14 - 526 of 11056

looking too strong - no position

short now 188.84

Tellon - 24 Feb 2004 16:34 - 527 of 11056

We are in direct compettion.. Just decided to try a Short Long at 18781..

"EUR/USD set to probe 1.2660 chart resistance; odds now favor a break to the upside; GBP/USD breaks 1.8843 chart barrier -- may proceed to 1.9137 "

Beeblebrox - 24 Feb 2004 16:42 - 528 of 11056

looks good for you,
my stop not far away
now hit, only compensation i'm short the dow,
that's looking better

Beeblebrox - 24 Feb 2004 16:53 - 529 of 11056

looks like i chose a bad entry level,
saw it bounce - very strongly - first time off 189.00,
and didn't think we'd get through again,
just goes to show, wtfdik......
good luck tellon, oh and what's a short long, and
i take it you meant 188.81

Tellon - 24 Feb 2004 16:57 - 530 of 11056

Sorry I meant 188.71 (Short Long, Just meant Im Long but maybe for only 20 - 30pips depending on the charts.)

Im long EUR/USD but thats not looking as good. Tight stop there as well.

Beeble its all Swings & Roundabouts

Beeblebrox - 24 Feb 2004 17:03 - 531 of 11056

dead right there - i started with two longs this morning
arm and fp - had to cut them quick, and managed to short
a few others when the turn came...
good day all in all, and we live to fight another day

Informa Global Markets currency analyst Fergal Smith said the dollar is likely to continue southward even as Japan is seen strongly protecting the dollar/yen from falling below the 108 level.

Smith added that the market will be most sensitive to US Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan's testimony on the US economy and policies today and tomorrow.

If Greenspan is as upbeat about employment as he was last Friday, Smith said it would be bullish for the dollar since 'it is seen as bringing forward the timetable for a US interest rate hike'.

'If however, he does not give much fresh policy clues, it would be bearish on the dollar, aggravating ongoing concerns of the US twin deficits,' Smith said.

After its overnight rally the euro declined slightly in Singapore trade on calls by German economy and labor minister Wolfgang Clement for the European Central Bank to intervene or ease European interest rates after the softer Ifo business data.
