Hi all, i have a favour to ask anyone who can answer this question.
Need an indipendant price.
I have an account being traded for me in US and i need to confirm what
price EUR/JPY was trading at 11-10 Chicargo time, which if i've got me maths
right is 6 hours behind UK so 17-10 UK time.
Also will interbank rate be very close to FXCM price?

many thanks
Steve.

Lost my crappy slow internet connection totally last week, so haven't been able to post for a while. Just had a look at my last post - target 18100 on a pull back!! Ho Hum!! This rise has been relentless and I guess the adage 'trade what you see' has never been truer! Just goes to show I still have a long way to go before I have this cracked, but now I'm back on Broadband at least I can watch what is happening. Anyway, short from Friday, although having completely messed up over the last 7 days, not with much confidence!!

Cloudbase - a glance at the chart says it was somewhere between 143.09 and 143.13 around 17:10. It moved up to 143.25 and higher at 17:15.

Oh well, so much for Friday's short! Should have closed it flat this morning, but had a bit of a lie in for the first time in many months and missed my opportunity. However reversed during the 0930 news and clawed some back. Short again at the moment with locked in profit, although could do with it breaking through the 650 barrier. Quiet on here this morning!!

Seem to remember as a kid that cable was around 4 or 5 (i'm very old!) Hence half a dollar as slang for half a crown.

rpaco - 08 May 2006 11:05 - 5590 of 11056

Choc a favour please. What settings do you use on your MACD?
I have spent hours fiddling to try and get as early a crossover as possible, but the earlier the less stable ie it says now! and then oops back again. and also do you use 70/30 or 65/35?

rpaco - 08 May 2006 11:12 - 5591 of 11056

Sorry, meant 60/40 or 65/35 on your RSI. (and/or stoch)

MightyMicro - 08 May 2006 11:20 - 5592 of 11056

rpaco:

I think you'll find that the 1=$4 rate was fixed as a result of the Bretton Woods Agreements of July 1944 which established, inter alia, the IMF.

Sadly, I am even older than the Bretton Woods Agreements . . .

rpaco - 08 May 2006 11:33 - 5593 of 11056

Ah yes to help us pay for the USA winning the war! Apparently we started it few years too early. Still Hollywood has since put the record straight!

Anyway its doing wonders for the Gold price. Pity gordon sold all our gold at the lowest knock down rate he could get.

Just placed a short cable bet on FOT.

Harlosh - 08 May 2006 14:11 - 5594 of 11056

Pth,

Sorry I wasn't around last night or this morning. Haven't been too well over the weekend. Anyway, good to see you trialling Updata - hope it works for you. If you need help with any aspect of it just shout.

ptholden - 08 May 2006 15:51 - 5595 of 11056

Thanks Harlosh, plan to have a proper play this evening and see what's what

Harlosh - 08 May 2006 15:58 - 5596 of 11056

I've acknowledge you on Messenger so if I or Fundy are around, give us a bell.

You still short Cable?

hilary - 08 May 2006 16:07 - 5597 of 11056

That upside target on the 1-minute has prompted me to cover my short daytrade and am flat for now. I'm not willing to long it just yet awhile.

I'm also long on a pyramided medium term trade and am staying long for now despite the 100+ pip pullback today. I'm still looking for $2 from that one.

:o)

ptholden - 08 May 2006 16:13 - 5598 of 11056

Harlosh

Had a poor start to the day -50 and then clawed a bit back short & long. The shorted for most of the pm and got ahead. Mind you I'm still short and not looking too healthy again :-(

Harlosh - 08 May 2006 16:21 - 5599 of 11056

Thanks Hilary - always nice to know what your position is :-))

Pth, too much contradictory evidence for me to get involved right now.

Harlosh - 08 May 2006 16:25 - 5600 of 11056

Must say Hilary, the 5 min 5 box chart pulled back perfectly to the bullish support line from the low at 1.15pm on Friday but I missed it. Not sure whether to go in now or wait for a re test.
