How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Thanks Steve and John for another great night out. Couldn't stay up for the cricket as crashed out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Just been checking the cricket and Pakistan are 186-5 having just lost a few quick wickets after tea.

Harlosh,

We talked about tracking the amounts of download and upload data to our PCs yeterday. I use this very useful piece of free software which can be downloaded from:

Hi guys

Had a nice surprise when i got up, England had got a few wickets. Having laid off my draw back, I only got a small part of my draw lay filled (some at 1.85 some at 1.8) but still nicely in profit.

Just having a look at this afternoons prices:

Rugby Union:
England look way to short against the Aussies for me. Should be a tight game but recently England have found a nack of losing these and im going to back the Aussies with a view to laying off
All Blacks should be way too good for Ireland despite changing their whole XV and leaving Carter and Umanga in the stands but with the weather forecast poor 1.1 on the match odds is not a viable option - will wait to see how the weather is before looking to trade the handicap markets

Rugby League
Surprised GB are favs to beat Kiwis having lost to them 2 weeks ago and will be trading keeping the Kiwis on side

Havent looked at the footie yet but will in a few minutes

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 14:35 - 5685 of 10502

Two points Woodie - the Aussies last 6 games have all been against much better sides than this current England one and also the England side havent played together for a while and likely to be rusty

WOODIE - 12 Nov 2005 14:37 - 5686 of 10502

fundy first 2 mins look grim for england look poor

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 14:41 - 5687 of 10502

Woodie - im enjoying my 2.66 so far :-)

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 14:44 - 5688 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 14:46 - 5691 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 14:55 - 5695 of 10502

All Blacks almost covered the 16.5 hcap already

WOODIE - 12 Nov 2005 15:05 - 5696 of 10502

how are you watching both matches

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 15:06 - 5697 of 10502

2 TVs lol

Sky on one for the aussie game and the All Blacks game on the portable

England pack dominant, will be looking for another score while Aussies down to 14. Will look to back Aussies just after half time is still only 4 points in it

WOODIE - 12 Nov 2005 15:21 - 5698 of 10502

roll on the days when you can have split screen sky use it for c/league

Fundamentalist - 12 Nov 2005 15:24 - 5699 of 10502

Indeed Woodie

Bit disappointed i didnt back the biggest hcap on the all blacks - was available above 4.0 and theyve all but covered it at half time. Quite scary for the rest of the world that the all balcks appear to have 2 sides that will beat almost all challengers

Good volume on the paddy power gold cup, excellent trading opportunities.
