It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

It'll end up with a major club or two not able to cover player expenses...transfers...wages ..etc...perhaps not the Arsenals..ManU's..but the midsize clubs....

Man U may be in debt but it continues to pay regular dividends to the Glaziers and such like. Fact is that it can manage the debt like most businesses and will continue to do so while the revenue from TV continue to pour in. Ticket sales are a minor part of the revenue, even if the prices are too high for the average family with kids. I won't pay them, I find it difficult enough to watch many matches on TV for 90 mins, particularly if it is M.U playing. Over paid mannequins in the most part.

Nice are a little unlucky to have drawn Ajax in the champions league (1-1)...first leg....nuts pitching those two together so early....

Dil - how can you say away tix for Arsenal are a joke when this is perhaps the one area that the FA and the clubs have addressed - i.e. capped prices for away fans

Not an armchair fan are we?

Dil - 28 Jul 2017 09:42 - 5708 of 6918

No but don't play Arsenal often :-)

It was based on our one and only year in the EPL Joe. What is the price capped at ?

Joe Say - 29 Jul 2017 08:43 - 5709 of 6918

Across the whole PL - £30

Some clubs even charge less (when they'd rather attract volume)

Joe Say - 29 Jul 2017 08:44 - 5710 of 6918

Slightly different for home games of course !!!!

£30 may get a kid in !

Dil - 29 Jul 2017 09:37 - 5711 of 6918

Yeah I took a look Joe.

It was a lot more than that , at least double I think , when we played Arsenal in 2013.

Apparently...channel 4 news have reported that England women face France in the semis.....ok..isn'it it's good to see them get their facts right...

Stan - 31 Jul 2017 08:29 - 5713 of 6918

Meaning what?

required field - 31 Jul 2017 08:29 - 5714 of 6918

Anyway...well done the England women in reaching the semis.....Holland (Netherlands)will be tough though !....

Neymar saga goes on, and all the fault is on the griddy father ......

With Neymar finding himself at the centre of a huge transfer wrangle between Barcelona and PSG, it would appear that the Brazil superstar is beginning to lose the support of his once-adoring public.

Reports and counter-reports continue to circulate about Neymar's prospective €222 million summer switch to Paris -- conjecture that is beginning to irritate Barca fans, who simply demand nothing short of unwavering loyalty from their players.
Indeed, a strongly-worded, homemade poster has been spotted on the streets of Barcelona, taped haphazardly to a lamppost.

"Wanted: Traitor," the poster reads, along with a picture of Neymar's face.

"Mercenaries out of Barcelona. Only players who love the shirt."

Looks like things are about to get ugly.

La Liga crybabies. Hopefully a few more give Barcelona and Real Madrid a taste of their own medicine.

Dil - 04 Aug 2017 10:14 - 5718 of 6918

England dream ended in tears again.

Never really looked like scoring and Netherlands deserved the win.

Really thought your lot would do it this time with the Germans having already been knocked out.

Roll on Saturday and the mighty Burton Albion away :-)

iturama - 04 Aug 2017 11:24 - 5719 of 6918

Not Arsenal prices then Dil,

I'm not sure PSG even with Neymar are going to be any better in the champions league....the weight of expectancy will be enormous as well....
