Landkom - Cashing in on the Soft Commodity Boom (LKI)

G D Potts - 21 Feb 2008 19:15

Landkom is fast becoming one of Europes largest producers of high value agricultural feed stocks including oil seed rape (OSR) and wheat for the biofuel and food markets. The company's production is centred in Western Ukraine where the land is amongst the most fertile in the world. In 2007 the company will have planted 10,000 hectares of land for harvest in 2008.

Demand for feedstock in markets in Europe and the rest of the world is likely to outstrip supply for several years to come. European Union (EU) biodiesel, which has been mandated for a 5.75% biodiesel blend rising to 10% by 2020, is likely to result in a demand/supply imbalance in the world OSR and wheat market.

Landkom is well positioned to take full advantage of opportunities due to its geographical location in Europe, modern farming methods, low cost operations, better than average yields and flexibility of crop.

Landkom is a major positive contributor to the economy as we are now fully utilising former agricultural land which was fallow.

Raised 50.1million through its placing on the 15th of November 2007 at a price of 50 to 52p a share

Current Targets (Expected upgrade and update on planting in March 08)
Current rights to 50,000 hectares (10,000 planted) and a target to increase this to 350,000 hectares

This Company could outperform.......wheat prices up 100% and no damage from the Russian heatwave......efficiency up & costs down and the new sowing season ahead.
Even if yields are somewhat disappointing.....prices & lower costs will in my opinion will give LKI there best ever results....bearing in mind 3 years ago when the share price was around 60p and farming only half the acreage....they do stand a fair chance of producing much better results.....subject to the imminent update which is unlikely to have any bad news......twice the acreage & twice the price with big modern machinery & much lower cultivation costs in my mind equates to a big improvement......
I used to farm a fair acreage....hence the interest.

GOLDFINGER......Landcom trading statement due shortly....farming twice the area from 2 years ago with twice the price increase on wheat/grains suggests good times..... already showing profit on the Oilseed rape harvest (1st time ever)
Grain sales will also be in profit....very promising I think.
Their new sowing season is ahead of schedule....sounds like a no-brainer

Cheers hotshot was expecting it.

Just keeping fingers crossed the market in general doesnt throw a wobbler.

Landkom International ST: the RSI is oversold
30 Sep 2010 - 10:27

Click here to see our chart:
http://www.tradingcentral.com/chart/LKIGBp100930112514.gif
Our pivot point is at 7.75.
Our preference: the downside prevails as long as 7.75 is resistance.
Alternative scenario: the upside breakout of 7.75 would call for 8 and 8.25.
Comment: the RSI is trading below 30. This could mean that either the stock is
in a lasting downtrend or just oversold and that therefore a rebound could
shape (look for bullish divergence in this case). The MACD is negative and
below its signal line. The configuration is negative. Moreover, the stock is
trading under both its 20 and 50 day MA (standing respectively at 8.04 and
8.74). Finally, Landkom International is trading below its lower daily
Bollinger band (standing at 7.45).

"New-comer" crop....CORN,more than experimental this year is on target to produce approximately a staggering 40,000 tons.
TO my knowledge, this crop has not been mentioned in past statements...update to now
Already sold 32,000 tons of Rapeseed at a first time profit.
20,000 tons of wheat (winter & spring) combined....to sell yet..!!!!
say 35/40,000 tons of Corn...... all to sell yet
All soft commodity prices trading high...grains in particular, dollar to continue weak.....
inflation becoming a real threat to America.
SO..........
How good are their FIRST TIME PROFITS going to be...????

ahoj - 23 Mar 2011 08:50 - 46 of 62

LKI had a good progress, plus funding in place.
with crop prices at current levels they have to make a profit, off course if there is no bid coming.

Any other views?

ahoj - 23 Mar 2011 11:50 - 47 of 62

Volume has been increasing during last two weeks. Today may break the record.
Worth watching.

ahoj - 23 Mar 2011 22:55 - 48 of 62

good volume again. But buy signal will be at 11p.

hotshot - 14 Apr 2011 11:39 - 49 of 62

America cannot produce anymore Grain above existing outputs....Why?....they have every possible acre sown and need this coming Season the most favourable growing conditions to stand any chance of the reducing the SHORTAGE.....in other words they need record yields this year......wheat could even get scarcer.....a lot of wheat acreage is being switched into Corn (maize-even better prices than wheat).
It looks very interesting to me.......in fact the whole World needs a good Harvest......
what chances of that with WEATHER EXTREMES....????....Oil prices sky high and more grain needed for Ethanol ...!!!!!
Looks more than an interesting Year to me..!!!!

hotshot - 15 Apr 2011 15:20 - 50 of 62

Nice rise with good volume today.......buy signal confirmed

ahoj - 26 Apr 2011 12:37 - 51 of 62

Any reason for the drop?

TopAnalyst - 26 Apr 2011 18:15 - 52 of 62

I am removing ALL my research from here due to the constant personal abuse, defamation and distortions of it posted by:

cynic

This bunch of abusive retards is the reason MoneyAM will NEVER have a forum worth reading.

I have reported them to support by they do nothing, either because they want to force me to PAY them for the Traders Room or because they are too lazy to do anything. Maybe the people in support are the ones perpetrating the abuse, so as to force people to pay for the premium boards. Either way the service is sh1te and a disgrace to the finance industry. No wonder there is nobody left here apart from morons.

I will continue posting my good research on boards that are run in accordance with FSA and LSE listing rules and the interests of the market, not here where ar5eh0les rule the boards and all decent research is buried under their piles of sh1te.

ahoj - 27 Apr 2011 08:50 - 53 of 62

should rise from the ash soon.
I didn't expect it to stay around these levels for so long.

hotshot - 27 Apr 2011 12:04 - 54 of 62

Consolidating...decent volume this AM with 3 larger buys of 250,000 each..... but every one is watching Chicago Grain Prices and the Northern Hemisphere Weather for the latest growing Reports.....we need the best Harvest (USA) ever to stand any chance of reducing the shortage......LKI might do rather well (share price 3 yrs ago hi-80p)should they avoid any extremes.....and they have some of the best soils in the World.

ahoj - 04 May 2011 07:26 - 55 of 62

Die to survive. October is the time to wait for.

ahoj - 14 Jun 2011 09:20 - 56 of 62

Their forward sale prices are increasing. Production is expected to be much higher than previous years.

If there is not serious surprize, the price can jump a couple of folds.
I should clarify, I am still holding my initial purchase above 100p and still optimistic! and adding more!

ahoj - 15 Jul 2011 10:18 - 57 of 62

OK, so the first profit is confirmed.
It showed over 1m profit against 4m loss last year.

The harvest should be good to have 4m profit the first six months of this year.
The recognition of the stability of the company helps to get better prices for the current year..... WOW

ahoj - 15 Jul 2011 10:35 - 58 of 62

Some of the TDW trades are not being reported..

ahoj - 15 Jul 2011 11:08 - 59 of 62

Simple comparison agaijnst CFG shows that LKI value is around 24p rather than 7p.

ahoj - 15 Jul 2011 16:15 - 60 of 62

no move so far!
