Servelec Healthcare awarded a position on a major new procurement framework
The Board of Servelec Group plc is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a position on a major new procurement framework that has been developed by leading business support specialist NHS Shared Business Services for use across the NHS.
The framework provides Trusts with a rapid procurement route and a focus on a comprehensive set of functional requirements that enable users to localize their requirements. It also provides value for money and systems integration. The framework has six lots: Core PAS; ED Emergency; Theatres, Child Health; Maternity; and E-prescribing.
Servelec Healthcare has been placed across all six lots on the framework with consistently high scores in the selection process, an indication of the strength of Servelec Healthcare's strong product capabilities and reference ability in the market.
This is a significant step for Servelec Healthcare as it will enable NHS Trusts to save time and money when procuring new solutions by avoiding the need to go through the full OJEU process.
The Board estimates that this creates an addressable market of over £500m. It is expected that tender activity against the framework will begin in the first half of 2015.
Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive, commented:
"We are delighted to have been awarded a position for all six lots on this very important procurement framework. It is a critical step forward as we focus on capitalising on the substantial growth opportunity we have identified in the North Refresh."

Servelec Group announces acquisition of Aura

Servelec Group plc announces acquisition
of Aura Limited
Servelec Group plc is pleased to announce the acquisition of Aura Limited ("Aura") (the "Acquisition"). Aura is a developer of software for the healthcare sector that controls bed management and patient flow across hospitals, clinics and primary care centres, enabling improved care of patients. Aura's software suite of products will continue to be sold on a standalone basis as well as being integrated into Servelec's Oceano and RiO products thereby adding to their functionality.
The Acquisition is a continuation of Servelec's growth strategy for its Health & Social Care division. It builds on the acquisition of Corelogic Limited in December 2014, which has strongly positioned Servelec to support providers of both health and social care as the markets move in the direction of converged care.
Details of Acquisition
The initial purchase consideration comprises:
- £900,000 for the debts of Aura, amounting to £1,100,000; and,
- £1 for Aura's entire issued and to-be-issued share capital
A further maximum amount of £350,000 will become payable, contingent on the attainment of certain performance conditions over a 3-year period ending April 2018, which will be satisfied by the issue of new shares at the prevailing share price at the time of issue. The initial consideration will be paid from internal cash reserves.
For the year ended 31 March 2015, Aura's unaudited reported loss before tax was £1.5m on a turnover of £1.1m and gross assets of £0.6m. Aura's directors have already taken action to reduce the cost base from £2.6m to less than £1.0m per annum as at April 2015 and have a strong pipeline of potential revenue. The Acquisition is expected to be earnings neutral in 2015 and enhancing thereafter.
Aura Overview
Aura is a leading developer of healthcare software that automates bed management across hospitals, clinics and primary care centres, thereby enabling the improved care of the patient.
Aura's primary product, 'Flow', is an intuitive and functionally-rich bed management solution. Its core functionality complements and drives the patient journey, ensuring timely responses and improved quality of care. In turn, this drives bed management and provides real time indicators of current "bed-state" across an organisation, replacing traditional handwritten whiteboards. Flow is designed for use with large touch screen displays yet it will operate on any device connected to the organisations network, including desktop PCs and tablets.
Rationale for the Acquisition
The Acquisition brings an excellent product together with a team that has a wealth of market experience in software development and deployment of systems in to Acute hospitals. This strengthens Servelec's team for the next phase of its growth, which is the 'Refresh' of the software systems previously delivered into the North, Midlands and Eastern areas of England by Computer Science Corporation as part of the National Programme for Health, which ends July 2016.
Alan Stubbs, CEO of Servelec Group said:
"I am very pleased to be able to announce the acquisition of Aura. We have a clear direction of travel which is to be successful in the 'Refresh' in the North of England and this Acquisition increases the appeal of our Oceano product and adds further functionality to RiO, our market leading Mental Health and Community Health system.
The quality of Aura's technology is second to none. 'Flow' is already integrated into Oceano and RiO and with Aura's established routes to market together with our leading market position, we are really excited by the additional growth opportunities Aura offers."

Servelec announces new contract wins for Controls business worth over £2.8m
The Board of Servelec is delighted to announce recent contract wins for Servelec Controls, part of the Automation division.
Oil & Gas
Against the backdrop of a challenging oil and gas market, impacted by the fall in the dollar price of oil, we are very pleased to announce that Servelec Controls have been selected by one of the UK's largest energy companies to replace and upgrade a Fire & Gas Detection and Emergency Shutdown System on an off-shore platform. The contract, worth approximately £1m, has a planned project timeline of 18 months.
Power & Nuclear
The Power & Nuclear team has won contracts with three clients totalling approximately £1.8m.
These include a 12 month contract worth £1m for the detailed design, implementation and testing of a PLC and SCADA based Control System for the Silos Maintenance Facility which will support waste retrieval from silos at a major decommissioning site. The system provided by Servelec Controls will play a major part in decommissioning these facilities.
Contracts with the further two clients are for design and implementation of SCADA based Control Systems for the monitoring of Liquid Activity Reduction (LAR) at a major decommissioning site and two contracts with the National Grid covering fixed term project work and support. Implementation contracts will be delivered by mid-2016 with the support contract running for one year.
Alan Stubbs, CEO of Servelec Group, commented:
"I am delighted that the investment we made earlier in the year, to increase focus on the individual power and nuclear and oil and gas markets, is enabling us to capitalise on a long anticipated win in the oil and gas market and increased post-election confidence in the power and nuclear market. The contracts have been awarded in a very competitive environment and reflect the strength of Servelec Controls' track record and customer relationships.
This increased activity is in line with our expectations and provides confidence for the second half of the year."

Servelec announces new successes for its Technologies business, part of its Automation division
The Board of Servelec Group plc is pleased to announce two new contract wins and information regarding the successful pilot of Business Optimisation software for its Technologies business.
Servelec Technologies has been awarded a major four-year Framework Contract with InfraBel, the Belgium railway company, worth an estimated €2.3 million over four years. The company has been working with InfraBel for over 10 years, supplying a fully integrated diagnosis system which is built using Servelec's Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs) and used to monitor the status of signalling equipment on the Belgian railway network. This new additional contract is for a second model of equipment which will be used for the monitoring of signalling power and level crossings.
Another noteworthy contract win is with Irish Water for analysis to assess investment requirements across their water network. The project will utilise Servelec's PIONEER product and will be delivered before the end of 2015.
The Board is also delighted to announce that Wessex Water has confirmed that a pilot project has produced significant cost savings for the water company. MISER, one of Servelec's Business Optimisation products, has been monitoring and optimising performance across an area of Wessex Water's network for a year, leading to an estimated 10% savings in electricity and dosing chemical costs at three key sites. Further cost savings were also achieved through a reduction in emergency callouts due to early warnings generated by the MISER system.
Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive of Servelec Group plc, commented:
"We are delighted with this progress with both new and existing customers. The new contract with InfraBel broadens our relationship with this important customer over the next four years and confirms the benefit already delivered by Servelec's RTU offering. The contract with Irish Water is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our extensive expertise and market leading Business Optimisation products outside the UK, where the result of the pilot with Wessex Water demonstrates the true value of our solutions, positioning us very well for success as programmes of work related to AMP6 come to market."

H1 Trading update
The Board of Servelec Group today publishes an update on trading for the first half of the financial year ending 31 December 2015 with results at a Group level in line with expectations.
Health & Social Care
The Health & Social Care division continues to make good progress, driven by a solid order book in healthcare, further wins in social care and increased opportunities for our Flow bed management product from recently acquired Aura Healthcare. This is evidenced by the recently announced tender success for PICs, RiO, Flow and Mosaic.
We are pleased with the successful integration of our Corelogic and Aura Healthcare acquisitions and the growth opportunities these businesses bring to our Health & Social Care division.
The management team have a clear strategy for the converged care market and we are bringing the health and social care operations closer together to maximise the joint potential of these individually successful businesses. In line with this, we are very pleased that Garry McCord, previously Delivery and Development Director for Servelec Healthcare, has taken up the role of CEO of Servelec Corelogic.
Automation
Servelec Technologies has delivered a strong result against the corresponding period of 2014 and we are well positioned for success following pilot projects in advance of AMP6. We expect tender activity to increase in the second half of the year as part of the AMP6 procurements.
The performance from Technologies has partially offset a lower result from the Controls business due to the reduced order entry previously reported for the second half of 2014, which continued into H1 2015. Following the appointment of a new senior management team in Power & Nuclear, our order bank is now recovering and we have achieved a record order entry for Power & Nuclear in the first half of the year.
In Oil & Gas we see the recently announced new contract marking the beginning of a period of further platform refurbishment to reduce OPEX being incurred by operators.
Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive, commented,
"We are pleased with progress made in the first half of the year which demonstrates the advantage of our diversified business model. Recent order entry across the Group gives us confidence for the full year and the overall outlook for the business."
Servelec Group will release its results for the six months ended 30 June 2015 on Thursday, 27 August 2015.

Post year end trading update
The Board of Servelec is pleased to announce that trading for the year ended 31 December 2015 will be in line with market expectations.
Servelec Health and Social Care has performed exceptionally well during 2015, compensating for a correspondingly softer performance from Servelec Automation where the continued weakness in the Oil & Gas market held back Servelec Controls and a slower than expected increase in sales under the AMP6 programme impacted Technologies. This was partly mitigated by international wins, including contracts secured with GRT Gaz in France and Infrabel in Belgium.
Outlook
Servelec finished 2015 with a strong order book, an improving pipeline and an improved cash position. The Board remains confident in the outlook for the Group.
In Health and Social Care, activity is expected to remain buoyant through 2016 with a strong order book, increasing activity in the Social Care market and opportunities for Oceano and Rio in the North Refresh demonstrated by the recent Oceano win.
In Automation, Controls activity is expected to be driven by the increasing demand from Oil & Gas operators seeking to reduce Opex together with opportunities to refurbish CHP plants that are currently being dismantled and exported. In the Nuclear & Power market, the new management team will continue to strengthen the company's market position and order book. Within Technologies, RTU sales to the Oil and Gas industry were reduced as were orders under the AMP6 programme post the 2015 General Election. Management remains confident that the regulatory demand provided by AMP6 and its RTU, Optimisation and Telemetry product portfolio will enable it to capitalise on UK and global opportunities.
Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive, commented,
"We are delighted to have reported another full year of trading in line with market expectations for the business. The Group has delivered on its promises of strong and predictable financial performance, supported by its diversified business model. We finish 2015 with an improved cash position year on year and a strong order book going into 2016.
"We will continue on our path of growth by an appropriate mix of organic performance and acquisitions during 2016 continuing to deliver value and return for our shareholders.
"The Board is positive about the outlook for 2016. Servelec Automation looks poised for a year of growth as delayed projects get off the ground and Health and Social Care will continue to improve on performance to date, specifically in its Social Care segment. Our portfolio of solutions provides compelling business cases for cost reduction and effective operations which is essential in the current climate."
The Company will release its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2015 on 1 March 2016.

Significant hospital project wins for Servelec Health and Social Care
Servelec, the UK-based technology and software group, is pleased to announce a number of important project wins for its Health and Social Care division across its portfolio of software solutions.
These contracts build on the strong performance from Health & Social Care in 2015 and help embed Servelec as a supplier of choice to the NHS and Irish Health Service Executive. The contract wins are expected to positively impact Servelec Health & Social Care's revenues in the first half of 2016.
Oceano: modular Patient Administration System ("PAS") for Acute Care settings
Following the announcement of the Group's preferred bidder status to supply an Acute PAS using its Oceano product in December 2015, the Group has been appointed by this Acute Hospital Trust to implement its Oceano PAS solution in three hospitals and 13 minor injury units with delivery anticipated in 2016 / 2017.
This is an important win because it provides further credibility to Servelec's Acute sector transition under the North Refresh and brings Oceano together with Flow, following the integration of Aura Healthcare during 2015. It also signifies that Servelec's Converged Care approach is gaining traction as the region already has Servelec Health and Social Care solutions in neighboring Trusts and the County Council.
RiO: Electronic Patient Record software solution [for Community and Mental Health settings]
Servelec has been appointed by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust to deliver its RiO EPR system across the entire Trust supporting full community care settings. Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust delivers community health services to approximately 456,000 people across Shropshire and parts of Wales. This appointment builds on the ongoing sales activity with Community Trusts around RiO in 2015 with further opportunities expected in 2016.
PICS: rules-based clinical decision support software system
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Foundation Trust (RoH) in Birmingham has awarded Servelec the contract to provide Electronic Prescribing and Clinical Decision Support with its PICS solution. This demonstrates that Servelec is delivering on its strategy to deploy the PICS solution in an Acute environment. RoH is one of the largest specialist Orthopaedic Trusts in Europe providing complex Trauma and Orthopaedic services across the country. Deployment of the PICS system is expected to be in place by Q4 2016 and anticipated to go live in January 2017.
Flow: web application for patient flow management
Further demonstrating the value of the Group's acquisition of Aura Healthcare in May 2015, Servelec has been appointed as the provider of the Inpatient Journey Solution at St Vincent's University Hospital Dublin with its Flow/Note product. This strengthens Servelec's position in Ireland, and is a useful case study for other opportunities identified in this market.
Mosaic: social care software solution
Continuing Servelec's progress in Scotland, Servelec Corelogic has been appointed by Dundee City Council to deliver its Mosaic product across its Adult, Children, Criminal Justice and Finance departments. The solution, which will go live in November 2016, was selected as the most economically advantageous option for Dundee City Council and puts Servelec in a strong position for future sales in Scotland.
Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive Officer of Servelec commented; "This is a positive start to the year for Servelec Health and Social Care across the UK and Ireland. Building on the strong performance of the business in 2015 these projects demonstrate the breadth and strength of both our product portfolio and market position as a trusted supplier to the NHS and the Irish Health Service Executive.
"Our expansion into the Acute market is an important part of our growth strategy. The EPR programme win for this multi-site NHS Trust is an excellent platform from which to capitalise on other opportunities in this sector. We aim to play a leading role in the Converged Care agenda nationally. This award demonstrates our commitment to this agenda because our products are already in place and integrating well in the region. We believe we can make Converged Care happen across this and other regions as the Government looks to provide excellent customer care at a lower cost."

Substantial orders for Servelec Technologies
RNS
RNS Number : 5379Q
Servelec Group plc
01 March 2016
1 March 2016
Servelec Group PLC
("Servelec" or the "Company")
Substantial orders for Servelec demonstrate Technologies business is on track in 2016
Servelec, the UK-based technology group, announces several major project wins for its Technologies business worth between £5 million and £10 million during the AMP6 regulatory review period. The company is benefitting from the predicted upturn in AMP6 orders and diversification into new markets. The orders are expected to positively impact Servelec Technologies' revenues in the first half of the 2016 financial year.
Southern Water has appointed Servelec to its Real Time Systems Framework under two Lots. The first Lot, on which Servelec is the single source vendor, will include the supply of up to 2,000 Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs). This contract demonstrates that the development made in Servelec Technologies' product portfolio during 2015 is now reaping rewards as pent up demand comes to market.
The second of the Lots to which Servelec is appointed includes the provision of business optimisation software to interface with the existing Servelec telemetry and SCADA systems to provide an end-to end solution to Southern Water. This appointment shows the benefit of bringing together the constituent parts of Servelec Technologies under one banner, whilst also demonstrating that the UK water market recognises the advantage of the combined offering of RTUs, SCADA and telemetry systems and business optimisation software and consultancy. Orders for RTUs are expected imminently with delivery of the business optimisation solution scheduled to commence in the first quarter and both will continue over the course of the Asset Management Plan (AMP).
Another major UK water company has placed a significant order with Servelec Technologies for hardware and software upgrades for several of its Clean Water Treatment Works. This significant order will see around five initial sites completed during 2016 and the remainder implemented on a schedule running through to 2018.
Part of Servelec Technologies' strategy to compensate for the slower than anticipated upturn in the water industry in 2015 and reducing oil prices was to accelerate diversification plans into new markets and geographical regions. The company is now seeing the benefit of increased sales activities in this area and is pleased to announce a major order in Saudi Arabia for RTUs to monitor the telemetry of cash machines (ATMs), signaling its entry into the Financial Services Technologies sector on an international scale.
Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive Officer of Servelec commented; "I am delighted to announce these significant wins in our Technologies business which provide a strong pipeline both in 2016 and beyond.
"It is reassuring to the Board that AMP6 projects are coming on line and I am confident that our expansion into new geographical areas and previously untapped market sectors strengthens our business, positioning us well to mitigate the downturn in the Oil and Gas industry."

Servelec Technologies awarded new patent
Continuing the company's strategy to deliver ground breaking technology solutions to its customers, Servelec Technologies (part of Servelec Group) has been awarded a patent for its unique device access control methodology. The patent for the access security software is particularly relevant to remote telemetry units (RTUs) of which Servelec Technologies is a market leading designer, manufacturer and supplier.
The new device access control methodology will reduce the time spent granting access for an individual to potentially thousands of individual RTUs in geographically remote locations, translating into significant cost savings. The system will also result in greater network security in the context of ever-growing threats to infrastructure and cyber security. For example, a water company may have a high number of isolated locations with individual software security. This patent would allow the effective management of all the different security systems thereby substantially improving efficiencies and ease of use.
This successful patent application demonstrates Servelec's commitment to delivering leading edge technology to its customers and is a continuation of the company's commitment to enhancing product capabilities and the company's intellectual property.
Andy Sullivan, Managing Director of Servelec Technologies commented: "I am excited to be able to announce this successful patent award as it further demonstrates our position as a leading edge technologies business, supporting international infrastructure providers. Servelec Technologies is committed to continuously enhancing our product range in order to extend our reach and provide a better level of service to existing and new customers."
While the patented 'Device Access Control Method' was devised for RTUs it can easily be utilised as an application for other industries which require off-line access control to devices such as photo-copiers or even vehicle logging devices.
