This is one NASTY investment.
The last company release was 22 November and that wasnt even related to operations.
So nothing is happening then?? Whats new?
Since coming to market last April at 30 pence this company has done absolutely nothing for the investor. After 10 months the share price languishes at 26 pence and there is still no news of any meaningful developments.
The company was formed when over 67 million shares (half the AXM stock) were given to those people bringing AXM to market. For these shares they paid only 4 million and that means they paid just over 6 pence a share. Not bad and the possibility was always there to make a quick killing. On the first day of trading last April AXM reached over 40 pence before the selling began. In May the shares were down to 19 pence and the selling hasnt stopped since.
On 27 January Artemis UK Smaller Companies put out a statement saying they were owners of nearly 5 million shares. Odd that as they had already released that statement back in September. Just 2 weeks later, on 9 Feb, they said they had now sold over 2,600,000 shares since the January statement. So why re re-lease the January statement in the first place?? Were we all fooled?? And why are they selling millions of shares anyway? When supposed good news might, just maybe, could be, possibly be, not too far off? Or do they know something we dont??
I bought into this company in good faith and feel badly let down. Any mining company worth its salt should not be floundering below the initial price offering some ten months later or seeing big shareholders cashing their shares in within a fortnight of declaring their interest. What confidence is that supposed to instill. As one poster has written: Sutcliffe credibility in the City?? The man who brought European Diamonds and Regal Petroleum to the market?? Don't make me laugh. One is bad luck, two is a lack of judgement. And then we can move on to Dwyka, Gold Mines of Sardinia, Glencar...
Like I said, this is one very distasteful investment and, needless to say, like Artemis, Ive also now sold my shares in AXM.
Oh, and by the way, -watch you dont get locked into AXM with no means of escape. I know of at least one broker who allows you to sell a maximum of only 1000 shares. If you try to sell more a statement comes up (wrongfully) stating stock suspended on the market.
