A new era for SUNKAR RESOURCES with phosphates growth (SKR)

Master RSI - 07 Feb 2010 22:42

Floated at 120p on June 08 raising 33.6m to fund the development of a fertiliser factory, has used $5.9m for adquisitions September 08 and said it still had $26.9m left at 30 June 09.

The company has a phosphorous rock deposit in Kazakhstan totalling 800 million tonnes capable of producing fertilisers for the next 56 years.
The deposit lies in a flat lying position on the Kazakh steppes close to surface so will be cheap to mine and the world still needs fertilisers.
Positive points
1. Shallow - 1 to 3m depth. Ultra low cost to extract.
2. Close to Tengiz oil field which has high sulphur content, hence cheap source of sulphuric acid.
3. Located at junction of two main railway lines giving direct access to Russia/China.

Sunkar is suppose to be one of the lowest cost producers in the World at sub $125 per DAP (die-ammonium phosphate) tonne. The average is circa $200 with some producers as high as $300.
The case for phosphate deposits is population growth means more agriculture means more fertiliser needed in the future.
RESUME SKR produce phosphate for DAP fertilizer and have licenses and acrage in Kurdistan to last 50-70yrs producing in excess of 100M tonnes of raw material each year. 160m shares in issue, directors own a significant chunk. Also they have a cheap source of sulphur required to produce the DAP

Phosphorus - its role and nature
Phosphorus (chemical symbol P) is an element necessary for life. Because phosphorus is highly reactive, it does not naturally occur
as a free element, but is instead bound up in phosphates. Phosphates typically occur in inorganic rocks.
As farmers and gardeners know, phosphorus is one of the three major nutrients required for plant growth: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K).
Fertilizers are labelled for the amount of N-P-K they contain.
Most phosphorus is obtained from mining phosphate rock. Crude phosphate is now used in organic farming, whereas chemically treated forms such
as superphosphate, triple superphosphate, or ammonium phosphates are used in non-organic farming.
The current major use of phosphate is in fertilizers. Growing crops remove it and other nutrients from the soil... Most of the world's farms do not have or
do not receive adequate amounts of phosphate. Feeding the world's increasing population will accelerate the rate of depletion of phosphate reserves.
and...
resources are limited, and phosphate is being dissipated. Future generations ultimately will face problems in obtaining enough to exist.
It is sobering to note that phosphorus is often a limiting nutrient in natural ecosystems. That is, the supply of available phosphorus limits the
size of the population possible in those ecosystems.

KEEP an EYE
Time to take a punt again spread 28.25 / 28.75p

There are some signs that at this price investors are nibbling at the stock,
had a very large retracement from 52.50p high and volume is building
Indicators at oversold a good reason to move higher

HARRYCAT - 02 Mar 2011 12:09 - 587 of 754

Worth buying at c27p imo. Trouble is, if it falls below that then there is little support.

There us a early positive news this morning >>>>>>.....

02 March 2011 SUNKAR RESOURCES PLC
Subsoil Use Contract Changes Ratified

Sunkar Resources plc (AIM:SKR) is pleased to announce that the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has ratified the changes to the Company's Subsoil Use Contract ("SUC") and work programme commitments to develop the Chilisai phosphate deposit which were previously announced on 17(th) June 2010.

The major changes are (a) a reduction in the Company's obligations on ore extraction, and (b) a revision to the commitment to meet associated cumulative development expenditure of $115 million by 2014. This latter commitment has now been extended to 2020.

Serikjan Utegen, CEO of Sunkar, commented:

"The changes to the SUC that have been ratified align the development of the mine with the Company's timeframe for the development of the Chilisai phosphate fertilizer project. More importantly, the new 2011 and 2012 mining commitments are in line with the existing production capability. It underlines the degree to which this project is gaining very welcome support from the authorities here in Kazakhstan.

In 2010 Sunkar invested in a milling plant to produce Direct Application Rock ("DAR"), which has been included in the Kazakhstan's State Industrial Development Program ("Development Program"), a major Government support initiative. In addition, the DAP/MAP project has also recently been included in the Development Program, clearly demonstrating the Governmental strong support for the Company's plans to produce high value finished fertilizers from the abundant phosphate and sulphur resources in the country.

The Company's Preliminary Information Memorandum (PIM) was issued in February 2011 and the aim is to complete the Final Feasibility Study by the middle of 2011."

have been watching this one this morning, and though i can see a logic to buy, as posted earlier, there does not look to be much enthusiasm for SKR in the market

cielo - 02 Mar 2011 12:23 - 590 of 754

A distress seller of 100K @ 28.55p earlier on 8.24am, gave the chance to buy at such good prices.

cielo - 02 Mar 2011 12:37 - 591 of 754

re - there does not look to be much enthusiasm for SKR in the market

May I have a different an better view than you "cynic".
My long experience on the market reaches this conclutions

1- Being at its lows lately, a stock take its time to turn around
2 - It is a down day for the market
3 - and the order book is well up on the bid side compare to the offer 417K v 290K (were 55K are at 54p, meaning one should not count this total, as is so far away from the last price 33.25p )

re - Libya bombing

it may not be true, but that is the witness saying

edit - BBC has confirmed the bombing just now

(Reuters) - The Libyan town of Marsa El Brega, an important oil export terminal, was being targeted by "random bombardment" on Wednesday, Al Arabiya television quoted a witness as saying.

Three military sources in the rebel-held Libyan east told Reuters there was fighting in the city as forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi tried to reestablish control.

TANKER - 02 Mar 2011 12:47 - 593 of 754

bombing in Libya ..... go to the Libya thread for updated and accurate info; and yes you were right but it took a while to appear

SKR - per my previous post on this level being a potential buying opportunity, you and i do not really disagree .... my "enthusiasm" comment was and is based on the fact that since the early flurry, there seems to have been little action ..... thus i remain undecided
