Yes, but the penalty was well iffy anyway.

Ref didn't see, linesman didnt see, three trips to the VAR system?

Come on, if it waddles, quacks a lot and shits anywhere, it's probably a goose.

Who’s next? England are through to the last 16 of the World Cup but will only discover their opponents after the final round of group fixtures. Here's a look at England’s potential second-round opponents

The England side will now face either Japan, Senegal or Colombia in the first knockout stage.

Here are Press Association Sport's opinions on the sides they could face:

Japan
Shinji Kagawa has impressed in Japan's midfield

Form: The surprise leaders of Group H after two matches following an impressive defeat of 10-man Colombia and entertaining draw with Senegal.

Style: A fluid and counter-attacking side, with Shinji Kagawa and Makoto Hasebe moving the ball in midfield and looking to feed wingers Genki Haraguchi and Takashi Inui. Impressive going forward but a weak defence can be left exposed.

Look out for: Shinji Kagawa, Takashi Inui, Shinji Okazaki

Verdict: One to face

Senegal
Sadio Mane is key for Senegal

Form: Saw off Poland in their opener and then drew 2-2 in an entertaining clash with Japan.

Style: Another attractive side based on pace and power but with a bit of steel in midfield. Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is their chief threat up front but 19-year-old right-back Moussa Wague looks a handful out wide, charging forward and delivering dangerous crosses.

Look out for: Sadio Mane, M’Baye Niang, Moussa Wague

Verdict: One to face

Colombia
Radamel Falcao was on target as Colombia returned to form with an impressive defeat of Poland

Form: Bounced back after their unexpected defeat by Japan with a convincing 3-0 rout of Poland.

Style: A top-heavy attacking side that exploits its strengths with quick and incisive link-up play. The forwards in their 4-2-3-1 line-up, including 2014 tournament star James Rodriguez, boast individual quality to rival the best teams in the competition.

Look out for: Radamel Falcao, Juan Cuadrado, Juan Quintero

Verdict: One to avoid

Just in case you haven’t heard the Germans are out😂...what a crying shame I think you’ll agree.

HARRYCAT - 27 Jun 2018 18:29 - 6344 of 6918

Nope. What do they expect with 1 win and 2 losses? Same results as S Korea but with a worse goal difference.
C'mon the french!!!

dreamcatcher - 27 Jun 2018 18:32 - 6345 of 6918

All the sunbeds will be gone, now the supporters have gone home. :-)

MaxK - 27 Jun 2018 18:56 - 6346 of 6918

They're still world champions at nicking deck chairs.

dreamcatcher - 27 Jun 2018 19:44 - 6347 of 6918

They must set their alarms at about 2.30am . lol

MaxK - 27 Jun 2018 21:33 - 6348 of 6918

The Brazilians have cooked the Serbs goose 2-0 without trying too hard.

Possibly all the way?

ExecLine - 27 Jun 2018 23:49 - 6349 of 6918

Marks for the Germans: 1/10

Marks for the Brazilians: 11/10

VICTIM - 28 Jun 2018 07:38 - 6350 of 6918

Anyone seen Tottinghams new Stadium , i wasn't aware it was so advanced , looks impressive .

Dil - 28 Jun 2018 08:33 - 6351 of 6918

I wouldn't laugh about the Germans going out at the group stage if I were you given that last time it happened they started a World War the following year.

Such bad losers.

ExecLine - 28 Jun 2018 10:25 - 6352 of 6918

After last night's solid team performance, the Brazilians are now 5/1 favorites to win the World Cup.

England are currently 9.4/1 and have yet to play Belgium later today to establish 'who plays who' in the last 16.

HARRYCAT - 28 Jun 2018 10:47 - 6353 of 6918

And Harry Kane to be the top goal scorer at 7/4
(Penalties & og's don't count)

Stan - 28 Jun 2018 14:56 - 6354 of 6918

Next up Senegal v Columbia 3pm BBC 1. Looking forward to this game as the two sides that have impressed me so far.

Dil - 28 Jun 2018 16:13 - 6355 of 6918

Tonight's England game could be a great laugh if it's a draw with 10 minutes to go.

It's accepted that 2nd in the group will give an easier passage through the knockout stages. Drawing with 10 minutes to go and neither side wanting to either win or lose then it will come down to disciplinary record.

What's the chances that either or both managers send all their subs on to kick lumps out of the other team to bump their card count up ?

Stan - 28 Jun 2018 18:01 - 6356 of 6918

Well that was 75 minutes of stalemate stuff and the usual falling over nonsense followed by 15 minutes of a bit of football.

What's the chances that either or both managers send all their subs on to kick lumps out of the other team to bump their card count up ?

Absolutely none as it's not the done thing you know oh boy...remember we are English therefore we would not think of doing such a thing 😇

Prediction: Assuming that Belgium also put out a weakened side.. a Draw.

Dil - 28 Jun 2018 22:05 - 6357 of 6918

Pathetic.

Southgate will get hung out to dry for putting that team out if they cock it up against Columbia.

Stan - 28 Jun 2018 22:37 - 6358 of 6918

No chance of that team against Columbia, that was by and large our reserves.

Joe Say - 29 Jun 2018 08:09 - 6359 of 6918

Excellent imo - albeit not the result played for

Hopefully will help focus the minds (of the rested first team) - this is your chance

required field - 30 Jun 2018 09:29 - 6360 of 6918

England have an excellent chance of progressing to the latter stages of the competition.....perhaps.....just perhaps …..this time round the team might be enjoying a little bit of luck that's been missing in previous tournaments....and that is a big plus !.....Come on the Lads !.....
