Well it didn't like the 8710 area SC - not looking so good now.

Seymour Clearly - 10 Oct 2006 08:59 - 6362 of 11056

Agreed, might have to bale.....

Seymour Clearly - 10 Oct 2006 09:09 - 6363 of 11056

Out -30

Harlosh - 10 Oct 2006 09:37 - 6364 of 11056

Out flat but I confess I never saw that coming. :-(

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 09:41 - 6365 of 11056

Just gone long at 1.8590. I'm trying to ignore the chart, think and pre-empt the market, Choccy.

:o)

Seymour Clearly - 10 Oct 2006 09:48 - 6366 of 11056

That's my biggest mistake Hils, trying to pre-empt.

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 09:57 - 6367 of 11056

I think they call it the Concorde Method, Seymour. They say the best trades are the most difficult ones to make, so here's hoping.

If it goes below 1.8575, I'm out. He who dares, Rodney.

Wish I'd seen that down leg coming this morning though.

Seymour Clearly - 10 Oct 2006 10:18 - 6368 of 11056

Hils ;-)

Well, I can't have been using the Concorde method, cause I went long twice this morning before the drops, have lost a bit.........

Now long again Rodney.

chocolat - 10 Oct 2006 10:34 - 6369 of 11056

It's got to be here Hils *gulp*
Cos otherwise there's an awful lot of space underneath

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 10:44 - 6370 of 11056

The thing is, Choccy, if you look at the oscillators on the daily charts, 1.76 appears to be a distinct possibility.

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 12:21 - 6371 of 11056

Oh dear. The prospects for cable look pretty dire now. I can see a downward slopey channel wotsit on my hourlies, but the bottom line of it extends off my screen so I can't tell where it is. Somewhere around 1.8450 at a guess.

edit: More like 1.8350.

bakko - 10 Oct 2006 12:38 - 6372 of 11056

That sounds scary. So glad I've sat today out.

Just hope Mervyn can cheer cable up tonight

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 12:52 - 6373 of 11056

Is there a problem with the charts in the header or is it just me?

foale - 10 Oct 2006 12:56 - 6374 of 11056

cos they are going the wrong way you mean... LOL

yes they are coming up as "x" only

EDIT: now nothing at all

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Oct 2006 12:59 - 6375 of 11056

I will take a look at the charts.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Oct 2006 13:03 - 6376 of 11056

just taken a quick look, and it looks like the site they are taken from is down, which is why they are not showing.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Oct 2006 13:06 - 6377 of 11056

And it just looks like that site has come back.

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 13:08 - 6378 of 11056

Maybe the Fairy waved his magic wand, Ian.

:o)

bakko - 10 Oct 2006 14:01 - 6379 of 11056

Have we seen a bottom?

Just took this a few moments ago of my 5mins chart. Cable at some sort of support at this level but the macd is showing bullish divergence and may be a sign that we're ready for an upwards movement.

Any thoughts out there??

hilary - 10 Oct 2006 14:16 - 6380 of 11056

Given the major turn in sentiment over the last week, Bak, I'll certainly wait for some clearer signals before venturing long just yet. I'd say the 6 month up-leg from April may well have come to an end with that break down today.
