You must admit they are quite stylish as boxes go. Don't worry about them, that's how MaM make their dosh. Open another bottle and drown your worries, mind you it doesn't work if you are worrying about becoming an alcoholic.

little woman - 28 May 2004 19:07 - 6742 of 23498

Thanks socs, it's a pity its not sunny outside (grey & overcast)

Last week, I opened a bottle of beaujolais, but because it was a beautiful sunny evening, I invited my neighbours (2 ladies over 75 yrs) to join me. I kept them up until way past their bed time, 9pm, chatting, and enjoying the wine!

Golddog - 28 May 2004 19:07 - 6743 of 23498

Nice to have a few new faces in the Cafe, you are all most welcome.

socks, Can you shorten that link in post 6738 please only the Cafe just got a new extension.
:-)

Ok the Investment Game is Over and i will now update the table and leaderboard.

Golddog - 28 May 2004 19:22 - 6744 of 23498

Yes i do not believe it myself but poochy managed to pull it off and stay at the top to win with a decent 105,844.68. (mutley snigger). Hightone not far behind and stayed in the exclusive 100k club, and This is me came in third playing very well during the Game.
Hilary never showed any threat but i think she was just giving us a bit of a chance this time (she will always be the Queen of Trading), and the wonderful Gianni came in last (You win a free Bods!)

The Best performing Investor Woman goes to the Sweet Bunny with her M&S investment beating off little woman in the last day or so - well done.

Gianni who is full of good heart promised 100 to the winners designated charity but with the recent sad happenings to Croc it is only fair that this money should go to Crocs family and for them to decide where the money can go to. Thankyou Gianni for such kindness.

Have a nice weekend everybody and good luck on the gee gee's.

jeffers, i will have 100 e/w on Antonio Canova

vasey - 28 May 2004 20:36 - 6745 of 23498

Congratulations, Poochy! A most deserving winner and a thoughtful gesture to donate Gianni's generous prize to the charity named by David's family. I thought I would copy the relevant bit here.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make a donation to worthwhile cause that has touched our families life: Please send any donations marked:

I imagine that David would be relieved his shares at least ended in credit but most of all he would be overwhelmed by your kind and generous gesture. I'm very proud of the lot of you.

Poochy's Palace Rocks!

Thanks for the Map Socs.
If you'd said Ramsgate I would've known.
I've a feeling I've flown from there in the far distant past (70's)
when someone at work chartered some seats for us to go to an
interbank football tournament in Paris. I don't remember seeing a football.

Cracking result in the game, GD.

LW
post 6739 interesting that MAM takes along time to load on broadband, I'm on dial up and was considering converting to broadband because of how long it takes me to load this site, seems like I should save my money.

MAM loads quick as you like so might be LW's settings.

Jeffmack

200 each way Saviles Delight.

(My selection is based solely in the word "Delight" since I love Turkish Delight, Angel Delight and coming from the darkness into de light).

vasey - 29 May 2004 09:30 - 6755 of 23498

good morning, socks! Join me for a coffee?

Socrates - 29 May 2004 09:33 - 6756 of 23498

Did you hear about the chap who applied for three race-horse names, Pericles, Sophacles and Testacles. He got two out of three! Nice try.

optomistic - 29 May 2004 09:36 - 6757 of 23498

Morning Socs see you have been 'around' Manston this am. Looking to take more on board if they keep climbing.

vasey - 29 May 2004 09:37 - 6758 of 23498

I'm off out soon to join some friends who are finally picking up their cat. They got very drunk one night and bought a cat on the internet, paying hundreds of pounds for it. Finally they saw a real photo of this thing and it looks like a rat with a moustache. Having never owned a cat, they have to buy scratching posts, baskets, collars and other accessories. So this cat is now 14 weeks old because it has taken them so long to take responsibility for a little internet exuberance....ok exuberance generated by alcohol. So, off to Dunstable soon

vasey - 29 May 2004 09:38 - 6759 of 23498

Would it be improper to suggest re-selling this thing/cat on E-Bay?

Socrates - 29 May 2004 09:40 - 6760 of 23498

Vasey
If it's all the same with you, I'll have a cup of tea. Just pull back the covers and slide in.
