THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

No he's quite right on a lot of issues ,it's just he expresses them in a way that might not get him a job as a public speaker .
Not even with the EDL !

Hero of the JB, Manuel and the present tory party?

iturama - 13 Mar 2016 09:21 - 68830 of 81564

David Cameron is "petrified" of Boris Johnson and branded Michael Gove a "Maoist" who wants to be the darling of the Tory right, according to an insider's account of the Coalition years.
The Prime Minister is said to have confided in Nick Clegg that the Justice Secretary had "gone a bit nuts recently" and was driving him "around the bend".
Mr Cameron also admitted to the former deputy prime minister that the London mayor "is clearly after my job", the memoirs of former Liberal Democrat Cabinet minister David Laws claim.
Now the only remarkable thing about this is that a nonentity like Laws has decided that he is memoirs-worthy. The only memory of note that I have of him was his fiddling £40000 of expenses while living with his boyfriend.

Exit polls have predicted defeat for Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union party in two-out-of-three state elections as the results come in from Baden-Wuerttemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony-Anhalt tonight. It is the first major elections held in Germany since the start of the European migration crisis and Ms Merkel's 'open door' refugee policy, which has been both praised and criticised in the country, with the Chancellor mocked for her policies via a carnival float in Dusseldorf (pictured). It is believed both the CDU and Ms Merkel's partners in the national government, the centre-left Social Democrats will lose support, while the big winners are set to be the right-wing anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany (AfD), led by Frauke Petry. TANKER there are still many 'disabled' people fraudulently claiming, my neighbour was at the hairdresser and a guy in his mid forties who is registered disabled was talking about his new mobility car, a 4x4. He said he had to change to the 4x4 as his golf clubs would not fit in his previous car. When questioned about his disablement and golfing, he replied that golf was good exercise.

george - your objection that a disabled guy should not be able to play golf, is actually unfair

last year i played alongside chaps from headley court (look it up!) and their american counterparts, and there's no way you could say they were not disabled

i know a chap with parkinson's who plays, and another who can truly barely walk, but who also plays 9-holes when the weather is sufficiently warm

but yes, of course there are a small minority who undoubtedly work the system, not only on disability, but also with regard to other benefits
on the other hand, there are those who really should get benefits but are refused

iturama - 14 Mar 2016 10:35 - 68839 of 81564

Europe loves him, or at least did. Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize after being in office only 11 days. Awarded for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people". And we wonder why with socialist dreamers spouting that nonsense why Europe is going to the dogs. A case of deluded optimism overiding basic common sense.
Repeated by Merkel to the detriment of all of Europe. So much for general consensus. It only applies when she allows it.

MERKEL IN TROUBLE , HAD TO HAPPEN.

Germany elections: Disaster for Angela Merkel as exit polls suggest defeat in two out of three regional elections

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s ruling conservatives have suffered humiliating losses to the anti-immigrant Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party in three key state elections seen as a referendum on her “open door” refugee policy which allowed more than a million migrants to enter the country last year.

The real shock of Sunday night's polling was the scale of AfD’s gains, which easily entered all three legislatures.

The three-year-old party (AfD) - which has campaigned against Mrs Merkel's open-borders approach - won 15.1% of the vote in Baden-Wuerttemberg, official results showed.

It scored about 12.5% in Rhineland-Palatinate and 24% in Saxony-Anhalt, where it finished second, according to projections by ARD and ZDF television with most districts counted.

At AfD headquarters in Berlin where the results were being monitored last night the atmosphere was described as “ ecstatic”. A jubilant Frauke Petry, the party leader declared on television: “We are now a party for the whole of Germany.” Alexander Gauland, another leading AfD figure said: “Ms Merkel’s refugee policy has lost her party votes – we, by contrast, have made it clear from the start that we don’t want to take them in.”
