News you've all been waiting for ...

Meridian Petroleum PLC
04 April 2006

MERIDIAN PETROLEUM PLC
('Meridian' or 'the Company')

VICTORY 1-21 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

Meridian, the oil & gas exploration and production company with key assets in
the USA and Australia today announced that the Victory 1-21 production well (10%
WI) has been successfully deepened in order to further penetrate a Niagaran
reef.

Using a coiled tubing unit and conventional work over rig, Total Depth was
reached at 4,394 feet and gas communication was made between 4,161 feet and
4,192 feet, an increase of approximately 31 feet in net pay. The well was
treated with acid to stimulate flow and is currently being swabbed to remove
remaining acid from the well bore following which the well will be put back on
line this week. It is anticipated that enhanced production rates will be gained
from the additional pay sections in the reservoir.

Anthony Mason, Chief Executive of Meridian said:

'The successful deepening of Victory 1-21 is good news for Meridian. The well
will be back on line this week, following which Meridian will resume receiving
income from Victory 1-21. We are now looking forward to the imminent completion
on Calvin 36.'

Don Caldwell, a certified petroleum geologist, is the Company's Qualified Person
and has reviewed the information in this announcement.

cynic MRP is being ramped by EVIL on t1ps.com which explains todays rise no doubt he has cashed in already leaving the lemmings holding.....

justyi - 27 Mar 2009 16:45 - 682 of 741

Halifax, I doubt it. Looks like bluelyingking has got it spot on this time.

MRP is starting to recover.

capetown - 27 Mar 2009 16:45 - 683 of 741

No ramper could manipulate 30% on any stock.,unless its huge volumes.

cynic - 27 Mar 2009 16:58 - 684 of 741

beware of chasing little minnows .... you could end up being eaten alive yourself

certainly never buy on the basis of a rumoured or potential t/o .... if that happens to a bonus to your buying logic, then that is fine

maestro - 27 Mar 2009 17:54 - 685 of 741

lets face it this share has risen from 3.5p to 5p in old money..wake me up when it hits 10p in old money

Bluelyingking - 27 Mar 2009 18:14 - 686 of 741

WinnieTheWitch - 31 Mar 2009 05:58 - 688 of 741

the crystal ball never lies
please sir can i have some more !

m12rtn - 31 Mar 2009 10:05 - 689 of 741

Cynic, you are being a stupid now, 150m potential barrels at even $1 in the ground is nearly 130m so stop being a numpty.
If these were firmed up then $8 in the ground is acheivable, work it out, and we are talking only one Oz asset!!!

cynic - 31 Mar 2009 10:26 - 690 of 741

whatever you say ...... to be honest, this company is far too small to work with CFDs and undoubtedly it is totally illiquid ...... inevitably any movements will be disproportionate, and on a bad day, the shares will be effectively unsaleable

chav - 31 Mar 2009 12:32 - 691 of 741

Never a problem selling MRP shares...Only 16 million shares in issue so the sp moves up very nicely on a bit of buying....30% lift on Friday with 4% ish of the issued shares being traded....not that illiquid.

cynic - 31 Mar 2009 12:41 - 692 of 741

and can plummet much faster, with MMs effectively refusing to take stock ...... forget that at your peril!

chav - 31 Mar 2009 12:51 - 693 of 741

Like any other share, MRP will go up on good news and down on bad....Anyone buying AIM shares know how they can jump around in large moves and that is normally the reason peeps buy them...bummer when it goes the wrong way however very rewarding when they fly up.....Bank stock have been jumping around like AIM shares of late so nothing is particular safe ..unless suspended!

martinl2 - 31 Mar 2009 13:05 - 694 of 741

cynic,

No offence but you do tend to go around making sweeping generalisations about small company shares, whereas most other posters have done thorough research into the specific company. This tends to lead to the sort of clashes we are seeing here.
May I kindly suggest you do a bit of research on the company, including trading characteristics - not your assumptions based on the company size, then you will be able to have more meaningful debates with the other posters.

Best regards,

Martin

cynic - 31 Mar 2009 13:14 - 695 of 741

i leave the drones to do the research as it seems to entertain them.
generally, it is of little interest to me, as my only concern is my perception of whether the share will rise or fall and, when i engage my brain, the risk/reward attaching

if chav and others refuse to heed the warning about sp movements, marketability etc in mini-minnows, that is their prob, and they will almost certainly pay for it, if not here, then elsewhere

chav - 31 Mar 2009 13:32 - 696 of 741

If I wasn't making money out of AIM shares then I would most certainly stop trading in them!!..I do find it odd that some spend time on commenting on shares that they have no interest in and have no intention of investing in...I rarely comment even on shares that I am invested in!

cynic - 31 Mar 2009 14:03 - 697 of 741

you are obviously far clever than 99.5% of other people, so well done .... what you choose to do with your time and money is your biz, just as it is likewise for me

maestro - 01 Apr 2009 07:41 - 698 of 741

cynic...is a serial doom monging prat..he trolls everywhere spreading his negative shite...for whom i wonder?

cynic - 01 Apr 2009 07:47 - 699 of 741

maestro .... you have shown your unerring genius for picking "disaster stocks" for the last year or more .... for my part, and as i have regularly posted, i try to cast some cold common sense at some of the ridiculous hype one sees on this BB (not aimed here) and just wish i had enough of my own sense to short (more) stocks when it was indeed obvious ..... as it happens, i am currently short of nothing and long of plenty

chav - 02 Apr 2009 11:34 - 700 of 741

Will be interesting to see on the 18th what MRP have done with the profits....payed off a bigger chunk of the ELV loan or kept most of it to pay for the upcoming drilling campaign
