Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Glad I'm not the only one overweight in DES! Current pf stands at 43% at an average of 51.5p - so just in profit! Tempted to top-up again but is this the turning point or not? If only we knew! Certainly enjoyed todays performance though (so far).
Keep up the good informative postings. They are much appreciated. Have a good weekend all.

markymar - 11 Feb 2005 15:46 - 714 of 6492

Am sure it would be go to hear from him Ming but the likes of Assagi dont need to say anything as he knows what we dont but cant say what he knows.

But the teasing is good crack.

Time to look at the whole picture. Last week one of you guy's offered a potential senario that may take place on the back of a rumour of a rights issue with an offer of 50p to the shareholders.

The idea was that the mm's would reduce the price down to 50p in order to accumulate more stock at a low price, even buying in stock themselves at around 50p (See more buys than sells at 50p - 51p no price change). Then raising the price rapidly up to 60p, allowing the rights issue in, with an offer of 50p to the shareholders.

The mm's would then be holding far more stock than before, with a far greater profit, at vertually no risk.

Of course, in order for the mm's to go ahead with this manouvre, they would have to know exactly when the rights issue would be offered.

Taking into account the time it took to reduce the share down to 50p, I estimate that the price will return to 60p within the next 3-4 trading days. An announcement may be made on Friday, possibly Monday.

Good luck guy's I'm with you all the way.

Hi all

Won't post a chart as there is one posted already. (been having problems with the internet). I have down loaded my data & it appears to differ from the chart shown. I tend to rely on sharescope. Here is the information I've got. Open 0.49p, high, 0.555p, low 0.49p close 0.5275p. This should be a big blue candle on the chart, for some reason it's not. The stochastic has definatly kicked up. All of these are buy signals. DES is up 0.0375p which is up +7.65%. Any news anyone! Come on markymar get the crystal ball out. Definatly on a buy.

Any thoughts anyone ?

Kind Regards

Eddie

berlingo - 11 Feb 2005 21:37 - 719 of 6492

"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

Now get your heads round that if you had a drink .Eddie and the high was 56p ?
