THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Who'se crowing? Your method is to disparage anyone or anything that doesn't fit your spiel.
Andrea is a banker - boo! Andea is not a banker - boo!
All the explorers and miners have left Toronto for London... I'm still waiting for you to give one that has delisted from the TVX and moved to London. Menwhile the gold and copper stocks I have on the TVX are roaring away while the London listings are limping along.

Trade deals without free movement, if it suits...

Brussels' 'hallucination' Europe REVOLT as Juncker pushes Canada deal WITHOUT consultation

REVOLTING European nations have slapped down unelected EU bureaucrats who planned to wave through a MAJOR trade deal without consultation.

France even went so far as to call the EU chiefs hoping to push through the massive agreement with Canada “hallucinatory”.

Bureaucrats had hoped to act as a tacit EU superstate, rubber stamping the plan on behalf of members and even nations beyond the EU borders.

But, emboldened by Britain's Brexit vote, nation states were today in revolt forcing the European Union into a dramatic re-think.

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada will now be subject to all national parliaments’ ratification after all.

The pressure came from countries across Europe but was spear headed by the French and German governments.

And the revolt is a massive slap in the face for Commission President Juncker.

Despite the Britich Brexit vote serving as a huge red flag that nation states are vehemently opposed to losing their sovereignty to an unelected Brussels bureaucracy Juncker last week said he believed there was no need to involve parliaments

In 2005 London had only 183 mining stocks. Now London has 362. The bigger companies are leaving Toronto and the no hopers are being left behind.

Juncker is technically a lawyer, but never practiced and has only been a politician without any other job.

iturama - 06 Jul 2016 15:46 - 72287 of 81564

Selective again Hays. You didn't mention the thousands that are active on the TSX compared to the few hundred in London - most being AIM companies. An estimated 55% of global mining finance was raised on the TSX in 2015.
The zombie companies article is about those inactive but still listed on the venture exchange, equivalent to AIM in London. These companies are often picked up by new ventures and refinanced.
You still haven't mentioned one that has left the TSX for London.

Haystack - 06 Jul 2016 15:47 - 72288 of 81564

I think there are around 1,600 mining stocks on the Toronto exchange. I am not sure how many are active.

h/t to Francies across the road.

Tony Blair goes on a fact-finding visit to Israel. While he is on a tour of Jerusalem he suffers a heart attack and dies.

The undertaker tells the British Diplomats accompanying him, “You can have him shipped home for £50,000 or you can bury him here in the Holy Land for just £100.”

The British Diplomats go into a corner and discuss for a few minutes. They come back to the undertaker and tell him they want Blair shipped home.

The undertaker is puzzled and asks, “Why would you spend £50,000 to ship him home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only £100?”

The Diplomats replied,
“Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead.

We just can't take the risk.”
