Sefton Resources - a SCREAMING BUY at this price - small-cap oil producer (SER)

mjr1234 - 10 Nov 2005 12:44

This stock looks like the most undervalued oil company on the stock exchange. >
Sefton Resources epic SER. It is currently trading at a price of 0.275p valueing the whole company at just 4M.

You might look at the market cap and assume that this company is just an explorer or a shell, but in fact Sefton is producing over 6000 barrels of oil per month with a monthly revenue of over $300k. It's recent work on it's Tapia oilfield exceeded expectations, meaning the company hit it's 200BOPD target 5 months early, and is now expecting resource and production estimates to be further upgraded. This is before it embarks on a steam-assisted programme early next year which
could see production rates multiplied 2-4 times! It is also looking at drilling further wells on the rich Tapia field in the light of the better than expected results.

So why is it only valued at 4M? The primary reason is lack of awareness of the stock, the sub-1p price puts many people off straight away, and a large overhang.

A year or so ago the company was put in financial dire straits by a
well blowout and had to undertake large discounted placings to get
itself back on track, which it has done with a vengeance. However,
some of these placing shares, which represent some 25% of the company
are being sold into the market, depressing the price so that despite the fact that the companies prospects have improved dramatically over
the past year, the price has dropped by nearly 60%.

This makes the company an absolute bargain at these rock-bottom prices. In 6 months time I expect this to be worth 3-5 times the current price. SERIOUSLY.

There is plenty of research to get your teeth into, the best place to start is the website :

www.seftonresources.com

There are 2 excellent articles on Sefton on the following website by Ian Mclelland (Jan/Feb 2006) - well worth a read to get up to speed on this company and it's prospects:

mjr1234 - 17 Mar 2006 10:56 - 722 of 1047

Silly tree-shake, good opportunity to grab some more shares at cheap prices, but the best they will do is 0.50 at the moment..

sounds good to me in @ .54 and .53 so would be rude not to @0.5 too

julian1976 - 17 Mar 2006 15:15 - 724 of 1047

so the news that was coming 'early to mid march' has not arrived then?

mjr1234 - 17 Mar 2006 16:14 - 725 of 1047

No, not yet Julian.

mjr1234 - 20 Mar 2006 11:50 - 726 of 1047

Little bits of buying, it needs news (good) to really get it moving again.

Another jolly shake by the MM's - notice the 1.4M sell occured more than half an hour AFTER the price fell, and in fact had started to rise again - just another panicky seller, which is why the MM's do it.

Anyway, news will sweep away all these games - lets have some of these "a number of annoucements shortly" SER!

i think they will try hold back any news to try sweaten results in may,we are up against profit takers now.ser must be building a more stable position than this time last year,haVeing production of 200bopd maybe more,we need some of this income to go back into increasing oil production and quick.

mjr1234 - 20 Mar 2006 18:24 - 731 of 1047

2.5M buys v 2.4M sells - sellers are tailing off, with these obvious MM tactics before news, weak panicky holders and profit-takers are all wising up. Time to start walking this up prior to news.

cellby - I have been told by the company there will be "a number of announcements shortly" - I posted the email a few days ago. The email also implies these will be before the results in May. Didn't look like they were planning to put them all in one RNS, as this would lessen the positive effect anyway? I think the results will be sweet enough on their own. A much reduced full year loss with a profitable H2, and a much much more positive outlook?

katcenka - 20 Mar 2006 18:25 - 732 of 1047

heading back to .0028p

mjr1234 - 20 Mar 2006 18:28 - 733 of 1047

Yes! The derampers are back. This can only mean one thing.

SER is about to be "hot" again and news is just around the corner.

Could it even by tomorrow?

I'm going for tomorrow after close or wednesday though.

mjr1234 - 20 Mar 2006 18:29 - 734 of 1047

They are one of THE best buy indicators I have ever found in all my years as an investor in small caps.

They were all over the ADVFN thread today!

cellby - 20 Mar 2006 20:00 - 735 of 1047

nice to see them go up these last month, but if kat is right i will be doubleing my holding at .28, lol .

derampers=News soon

julian1976 - 21 Mar 2006 09:36 - 737 of 1047

i am hopng that this share isnt going the same way as others that i have held. where there has been a promise of news but the managent have failed to deliver. i have seen much talk of the 'early to mid march news' which was apparently the time scale someone was given in an email from the company. i much prefer to see official RNS's instead of emails to individuals.

as the early to mid march deadline has past i can only assume one or two reasons for this:

1. the person claiming to have received the email was lying
2. the company have failed to deliver as promised.

i hope i am wrong and i will continue to hold as i can see the long term prospects for SER, however the company need to sort their PR act out and they need to do it soon.

mjr1234 - 21 Mar 2006 10:14 - 738 of 1047

julian1976,

I think it's a case of
3. changing circumstances, waiting on other parties, etc etc means that the timescales given to shareholders in emails, phone calls etc cannot be taken as gospel, but guidelines.

I think it's fair to say the most we will have to wait now is 6 weeks (results), but maybe there will be one or more news items before then.

Surely that's not long to wait is it?

julian1976 - 21 Mar 2006 10:33 - 739 of 1047

mjr

to a long term investor in SER, just like myself, then of course 6 weeks is not too long to wait, however i am sure there are many inexperienced investors who read these BB's and will become frustrated with posts stating there is news due and then it doesnt materialise. i appreciate that you could say that its their own fault however i dont think this helps in providing over all good publicity for the company.
i intend to hold SER for a minumum of 2 years so whether news comes now, next week, next month or even next year, isnt that much of a issue for me, however for many im sure it is.

mjr1234 - 21 Mar 2006 10:39 - 740 of 1047

So are you saying we shouldn't post what we get in emails or phone calls from Directors, just in case naive investors take them to be gospel and when timescales slip they give up and sell out?

I don't think the needs of naive investors should be the primary considerations when posting on there boards - the primary consideration is to share information.

Beginner investors just need to realise they are beginners and have a lot to learn and try to keep an open mind, and above all DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH!!
