Birmingham Pie and a Pint

Fred1new - 31 Oct 2004 17:08

Any punters living in Birmingham Area interested in a Pie, Pint and jaw, one evening in a pub in Birmingham area.
Personally interested in small time investing(gambling), developing an appetite for CFDs. Also developing an interest in Charting or TA.

I use Sharescope, Moneyam, Barclays, Comdirect and IC

OK .... noted....

Wouldn't it be handy now if the Kenilworth to Berkswell line hadn't been closed.... !

Fred1new - 26 Nov 2007 10:21 - 742 of 1427

Thanks for the Card. Looking at the Blair documentary on BBC1 last night I could see the likenesses. What a pair of dangerous psychotic psychopaths they are. Mind they do have God on their side.

Stan, knowing your interest in BIFF, hope you weren't caught by the drop this am.
Looking at the trading on Friday I am little suspicious of the price movements.

I think I may get to next meeting, especially with the increase in size due to new membership.

Another reminder chaps:

Get your thinking caps on for our Pre-Midwinter Break Meal, can I suggest a couple of dates
13th Thur.and 12th Wed. of December for starters.

Venues and times to be discussed and hopefully Fred will be in a position to pass a fitness test by then.

survived87 - 26 Nov 2007 16:42 - 744 of 1427

Stan.... I hope you're not going to impose the following fitness test on Fred: The bleep test involves running continuously between two points that are 20 metres apart. These runs are synchronised with a pre-recorded audio tape, CD or laptop which plays bleeps at set intervals. As the bleep test proceeds, the interval between each successive bleep reduces, forcing the athlete to increase velocity over the course of the bleep test, until it is impossible to keep in sync with the recording.

Fred1new - 26 Nov 2007 17:28 - 745 of 1427

If I am ever reincarnated I will take the fitness test!

Stan - 26 Nov 2007 17:34 - 746 of 1427

Havant been near BIFF for months thank goodness Fred.

"I think I may get to next meeting, especially with the increase in size due to new membership."..actually we have been back to the usual number of 3 for the last few mini-meetings again -):

Don't think "I" could manage that Fit. test let alone Fred -):

Fred1new ..... Hello again ..... you do realise that the 'Bleep Test' is only a precursor to the main test that Stan & 55 will require .... you will be given 45 seconds to get from the Pallasades Shopping Centre, down to New Street railway station, thru the concourse, down to the platform, and jam your brolley in the closing doors of the late running train service to xxxxxx. (Stan seems to manage it on a regular basis).

Stan - 26 Nov 2007 17:45 - 748 of 1427

This is true, going for the hat-trick next time.

Stan - 27 Nov 2007 09:32 - 751 of 1427

Stan - 27 Nov 2007 10:22 - 752 of 1427

Information for our Mid-Winter break Meal.

I will list and come back to this post to up date some choices available to us.

1. The Ochid: http://thaiorchidbanbury.co.uk/index2.php
I emailed them and was told that their Banbury menu was similar to the Birmingham outlet. 5 minute walk from New St, Station.

2. The Barton Arms: http://www.oakhamales.com/BAthaifood.asp?m_nid=3649
5 minute bus (33) ride from Birmingham centre.

3. The Warehouse Cafe: http://www.thewarehousecafe.com
10 minute walk from New St.Station.

No alcohol available at the cafe so might want to go somewhere else before hand.

>Couple of 2 hour lunches in there I see...

Can't cope with 2 hour lunches nowadays .... have to xtend it to three hours...

I'd be happy with Barton Arms..... would have thought that was also the easiest parking or drop-off / pick-up for Fred .... but I'll go with flow.... (wouldn't say there's a lot of difference between authenticity of Thai food at Barton or Orchid).

I would be happy any venue. Whether I can make it not entirely sure. Did you receive Email from Martin earlier wanting to meet up sometime?

Stan - 27 Nov 2007 13:28 - 755 of 1427

No, who's Martin?

What are peoples feelings regarding time of day, mid-dayish or early evening?
Prefer mid- dayish myself but will also go with the flow.

55011 - 27 Nov 2007 14:32 - 756 of 1427

Eh? Banbury a 5 minute walk from New Street station? Jeez, a champion sprinter methinks...................

55011 - 27 Nov 2007 14:33 - 757 of 1427

Wasn't Martin at the Bartons last time?

Stan - 27 Nov 2007 14:38 - 758 of 1427

Wasn't that Martini?

55011 - 27 Nov 2007 14:48 - 759 of 1427

Ah, close though!!!

55011 - 27 Nov 2007 14:50 - 760 of 1427

Or maybe not. Oh well, back to the prices pages. Decided what to spend your booze voucher on? You must be the first person to have sat in the leading position for several days in a row. They should double the value for that.
