THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Anyone watching the live feed of Macron giving his victory speech as they adjust his make up straightens his tie and practices his speech. Even Corbyn would have handled that better.

Fred1new - 07 May 2017 20:21 - 76702 of 81564

At least the French seem to be sensible and choosing the right candidate for the EU.

Big shame (Macron) he hates us and wants more Europe ,give them five years and she may win next time .

VICTIM - 08 May 2017 07:17 - 76704 of 81564

More anti . anti , anti , anything to make Britain look bad , go and live in France Freda . your input here has become a waste of time , back to the old days again .blah blah blah .

cynic - 08 May 2017 08:23 - 76705 of 81564

le pen would have been a seriously scary choice

MaxK - 08 May 2017 08:29 - 76706 of 81564

And Micro isn't?

grannyboy - 08 May 2017 08:35 - 76707 of 81564

Macrons one of these 'leaders' now...

Macron's victory may just extend the EU's life long enough for the UK to extricate itself before Euroland implodes

jimmy b - 08 May 2017 09:29 - 76709 of 81564

La Pen would have been a great choice , what are you so scared of cynic ?

Obama made a speech endorsing Macron , he's history now why doesn't he just stop interfering ,another Tony Blair type full of his own importance.

HMRC apparently estimate, that around £13bn of UK VAT - about 11% - goes unpaid each year.

The likes of Amazon and eBay could be made responsible for 'getting it in' even though they are not aware sellers using their platforms are avoiding or evading VAT collection.

However, as with all things of a similar nature, eg. preventing litter, getting the homeless off the streets, solving the plastic pollution problem, mending pot-holes and fixing the roads, there also does have to be the political will to really do something about it.

I suppose I'm just like the rest of the Internet shoppers out there. I just use available shopping tools, such as the 'Google Shopper', and search around for the cheapest source for what it is, that I want to buy.

Here's one hot topic, from my local rag, about illegally watching films and movies using Kodi, and how those discovered doing so might find themselves sitting in jail for up to 10 years:

It won't be long before Macron is up to his knees in farm manure. He has even less chance of taming the vested interests than the pillion rider had. He will have a lot to say about Brexit, Poland and Hungary however. I somehow can't take serious someone who decides to marry his mother. Weird. Before we know it, his popularity will be as low as the already forgotten one who couldn't even run for re-election.

iturama - 08 May 2017 09:44 - 76713 of 81564

You don't get 10 years for planning to bomb a train XL. But stealing from the gas meter...

VICTIM - 08 May 2017 10:13 - 76714 of 81564

I might be wrong here but if Le Penn had won and migrants decided to miss on France that would have put us no 1 target for them maybe , just a step too far at this time as we still have two years to go .

iturama - 08 May 2017 10:21 - 76715 of 81564

The irony... Sky - " Hollande and Macron are attending the VE ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe and then will go to meet the acknowledged leader in Europe, Angela Merckel".

VICTIM - 08 May 2017 10:27 - 76716 of 81564

Are they arm in arm saying we will pull through together .

Laurenrose - 08 May 2017 10:37 - 76717 of 81564

so Obama proposed to a white man before he proposed to two white women then in desperation he married this woman. that about sums him up
he also did nothing to stop the war in Syria that should tell you is policy on isis

he is far from a descent person . he is also behind all the fake news in the usa

Laurenrose - 08 May 2017 10:37 - 76718 of 81564

that is all in the news not my words

Haystack - 08 May 2017 12:32 - 76719 of 81564

Macron want to renegotiate the Me Fouquet treaty where visitor's passports are checked on the French side. He wants us to do it, meaning they would be here and won't go back.
