Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Nigel Farage led a party of ranting geriatrics who could only get one parliamentary seat, and that was through a Tory defection to UKIP. He was too much of a liability to lead the Leave campaign, and should probably be shot for treason rather than knighted.
And Jacob Rees-Mogg? Well he's just a moronic dinosaur who will never lead the Tories, never become PM, and never be knighted.

Well, we are all entitled to our opinion on JR-M.
I just like how he puts out his points of view with a simple 'easy to understand clarity' and with exceptionally good oratory. And, 'Yes', he is a bit quirky. I don't like his 'moronic stance' on rape and abortion which he justifies with and from his catholicism base. But there again, I'm an atheist. As I say, he is entitled to his opinions. That particular one is very strong with him and he is entitled to it. I rationalise how he uses this one to show everyone, that he has an exceedingly strong personal morality.
I'm not alone in liking him. Amongst those who really count, he has topped the poll for at least the last two months on 'Conservativehome.com' for who they would like to see as the next Tory Leader:
https://www.conservativehome.com/thetorydiary/2017/12/our-survey-next-tory-leader-as-last-month-rees-mogg-leads-and-gove-is-second.html
I see JR-M is also their 'Parliamentarian of the Year':
https://www.conservativehome.com/thetorydiary/2017/12/our-panels-conservative-parliamentarian-of-the-year-is-can-you-guess.html
Aaargh! I see Gove comes second in their 'next Tory leader' poll. I now have cognitive dissonance on it! The pollsters must be dick-heads! :-)

JR-M ....... moronic he most certainly is not, and if you bother to listen to him, he's actually very amusing ...... i think i'ld rather JR-M over BJ as PM, though i very much hope that is not a choice we'ld need to make

Remind me again the names of Rees-Mogg's children, and then tell me that's the working of somebody sound of mind.

PS.
Slave owners had strong personal moralities and vied for the best seats when they went to church on Sundays, but didn't care a damn on a Monday.

I don't think Gove, Johnson or the Moggy would be fit enough to clear the stable out when Teressa escapes from number No 10. The latter may catch a few rats.
The stench coming out of it makes some question how many dead bodies will be found in the cabinet rooms by then.
I would like to see the cabinet diaries for the last few years.
Happy New Year.

surely fred means the mosque, for slavery has been rife through arab nations for many centuries, and indeed before that in chinese, greek and roman societies, and many others of course
nor should it be forgotten that the african tribes were more than complicit
i really am sick to death of all the current crap effectively foisting the "blame" for slavery on the british empire using hidsight and the mores of today .... i'ld love to see these so-called moral breast-beaters stand up in saudi and start pointing fingers; quite rightly, they'ld be given short shrift + long jail sentences, no doubt with some friday evening flogging chucked in for good measure

Manuel,
I was questioning the use of the word "morality" and its application regarding
Rees-Mogg's political antics.
Or perhaps reflecting onto Nick Boles "Tory MP condemns universal basic income 'on moral grounds".
It seems that what is considered moral and lauded is very fluid.

Nick Clegg deserves his gongship for services rendered to the nation.
He led the dim/libs up the garden path/hill and then rode them back down into the valley of electoral death.
The man is a hero imo!

Perhaps, when he entered the coalition government he wasn't as self-serving as I suspect you would have been.
Probably he put the country before his own or party's interests.

Happy New Year to everyone.
This is the list everyone is trying to get themselves onto. Hope you manage to get onto it, even if its a position at somewhere around the 1,000,000th mark or so:
The daily 'Ups' and 'Downs' of the world's richest men
As I write, James Dyson, who makes those very good vacuum cleaners, is at 147th position with his $9.77B pile.
I see too, that at the last change he was up £124m and he is up $5.11B on the year to date.
Wikipedia tells me he is buying up acres and acres of agricultural and other land with his money and also developing some of it to sell on at a profit.
