Tanzanite One - set for storming progress? (TNZ)

Greyhound - 29 Dec 2005 14:38

Tanzanite One is the sole miner of Tanzanite - the newest (blue/violet) gemstone discovery. The only known source is in Tanzania and Tiffany & Co have described this "gem" as the most significant find in 200 years. TNZ is already profitable and this could be set to have an excellent 2006.

Well...monday morning will be interesting...to say the least...those with a heavy cfd or spreadbet on this company going long....could be ouch ! time.

Andy - 30 Mar 2008 18:56 - 62 of 87

Required field,

Is it definately Tanzanite's One'smine?

required field - 30 Mar 2008 22:22 - 63 of 87

I'm not 100% sure Andy but it could be...or the illegal mines that might be around TZM's main mine.....there should be an RNS at 7 AM tomorrow morning !

The above article says 4 bodies recovered have been identified as employees of Tanzanite One

required field - 31 Mar 2008 08:04 - 65 of 87

What no RNS ?

required field - 31 Mar 2008 08:45 - 66 of 87

Well...if this is not suspended...time to bail out quicko !....looks like a clear short to me !

scotinvestor - 31 Mar 2008 08:45 - 67 of 87

are you a really nervous guy, required field?

started reading your comments.....i think you had 3 messages by yourself at 1 point.......look mate, tanzania has a history of bad accidents or floods.....2002 and 1998 i think spring to mind.
i dont want to sound harsh but life is cheap in a lot of countries in the world like africa, eastern europe etc........i think tanzania average man lives till he is 51.

you use harsh language like "will" be suspended.....then say it might not be their mines.
as i say, calm down mate.

dont put your name down for PM as we have disasters and crisis every day in UK with numpty brown and co

required field - 31 Mar 2008 08:50 - 68 of 87

I'm just warning people to the hazards of remaining in this stock...75 or so people killed is no joke....a normal company would have suspended their stock straight away...looks like this one has not....!

scotinvestor - 31 Mar 2008 09:00 - 69 of 87

i'm sure they had 200 people killed there in the past.

there is no guarantee its 75 anyway, they only counted 6 dead i think. as i say, its in africa so life is cheap

ALL oil / gas and mining is hazardous!!!! if thats the case, dont put money on them if ......i actually am a safety guy.....but sounds as though u should be!!

Andy - 31 Mar 2008 09:45 - 70 of 87

scot,

Well it certainly sounds if you aren't bothered by this tragedy, but I think the market will react badly, IF its confirmed it's TZN's mine (and i think it may be) if only because production will clearly be impacted.

cynic - 31 Mar 2008 10:43 - 71 of 87

it happens that don't think this is a good stock to buy regardless of any accident, but for sure, if an accident involving several deaths at TZN's mine is confirmed, then sp is not going to rise! ...... i dare say even a certain jaundiced poster here would manage to agree with that .... i guess one can be both jaundiced and woad-enhanced!

scotinvestor - 31 Mar 2008 10:46 - 72 of 87

ah yes.....production is a different matter.

tanzanite though has many mines though.......and if 1 of their mines is affected, if its flooded etc then they have past experience of dealing with it.
sp may fall a little but dont think its as bad as required field makes out with his hysteria......certainly wouldnt like him involved in a war, lol.

its only worth about 40 million as it is.....as i say, it may fall a little but not much as its gone down from well over 2 down to 40p........if if falls much more it will be bankrupt......just like most companies by look of stock market last few months!

beware : stock market to fall much more this year!!!

cynic - 31 Mar 2008 11:16 - 73 of 87

for once, i think i actually agree re stock market general direction, though there will assuredly be sharp rallies even if the that is proven to be so ..... in fact, market is looking surprisingly resilient today, so took my modest profit on both Dow and FTSE shorts and have opened a small Dow long

scotinvestor - 31 Mar 2008 14:08 - 74 of 87

required field.....RNS is out.......everything is fine as no production has stopped!!

Tanzanite One says flooding at Merelani area; sees no impact on production
AFX

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Tanzanite One Ltd. said it sees no impact on production after heavy rains caused flash flooding at the Merelani areas in northern Tanzania.

The company said production continued at its other three production shafts viz CT shaft, Main shaft and Delta shaft.

you can now stop worrying required field.....also some decent buys before RNS

required field - 31 Mar 2008 22:20 - 75 of 87

Well...they took their time over releasing the RNS, but buying into this stock...no way !.....you will have mine inspectors all over the place....wanting new security upgrades etc....the stock might not drop straight away...but it will do when costs come in !...I'm pleased about minimal loss of life and wish the mine : all the best, but investing into it now ?, you have got to be joking !

required field - 31 Mar 2008 22:52 - 76 of 87

PS.. war what war....?

required field - 19 May 2008 22:34 - 77 of 87

Not much news....in fact none....but sp starting to slip !.

This stuff was all over the shopping channels last night (not that I watch them of course... hit the wrong button by mistake... honest..)

They said "This is not just tanzanite, its 'Tanzanite One' tanzanite"....

hangon - 05 Nov 2008 10:57 - 80 of 87

I'm not convinced this is a good business because the product is unexciting - selling on a TV sales channel is desperation for something "valuable" IMHO. However, the flooding of the mine (march08) cannot be blamed on the company (as an observation only) since mines are notoriously difficult to fathom.
What's odd is the corrected RNS (Director shareholding) which is only 11k-worth.

Any holders give an alternative view?
EDIT-(Jy2010)- seems not. However I note that in June an RNS explained the T.Government has stoppped the Export of larger stones, unless they are fined by native workers - seems reasonable to me IF they have the skills - but sp is abt. 6p
