THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

it's the bears who weren't happy that Goldilocks ate their porridge and then slept in one of their beds

Bit sad for the bulls.

Is ii.co.uk the cheapest for L2 and whats the service like?

kimoldfield - 31 Jan 2019 22:58 - 81485 of 81564

You need an ii trading account to apply.

I have a trading account and ISA with ii but no Level 2 yet, still thinking about it!

iii was great for setting up free portfolios like MAM but when they went to ii they trashed every ones years of work without warning. As for the stockbroking aspect I can’t say except I thought it was a badged Service from someone ā€œlikeā€ the Halifax.

Can anyone add anything more?

Clocktower - 01 Feb 2019 11:51 - 81487 of 81564

Thanks for that info kim and Stan.

Does anyone have ii L2 and if so does it show all MM and order book etc. like MAM`s L2?

If anyone is interested, I have always used several brokers but I had an account with Beaufort that was then transfered the thesharecentre - I left the account with them to see how things went, and I am pleased to say that I now prefer using them to the other online service providers. that I am with. However, having suffered the Beaufort mess, I hedge my bets even more so now.

Then new website is clear, easy to use and the documentaion is A1. and good value for regular traders.

cynic - 01 Feb 2019 16:02 - 81488 of 81564

perhaps worth investigating having an account with IG, for certainly their L2 platform is very good indeed and very simple to use and to place orders on the spot

iturama - 01 Feb 2019 16:22 - 81489 of 81564

I wonder about the usefulness of a L2 platform these days with HFT being used more and more. The retail investor doesn't have a chance.
As an example, the last 10 trades of LLoy today consisted of 9 automatics, of which 6 were from an algorithm, and one off-book.

Hey George bit of a long shot but:

Do you live in Redruth?

If so do you have a Coffee maker for sale on preloved?

2517GEORGE - 05 Feb 2019 15:04 - 81491 of 81564

Nope and nope

Stan - 05 Feb 2019 16:59 - 81492 of 81564

Thanks and thanks.

cynic - 08 Feb 2019 11:52 - 81493 of 81564

i see the labour party witch hunts are up and running once again

Luciana Berger (L'pool Wavertree) faces a vote of no confidence from local party members for "continuously criticsing" corbyn, specifically over anti-semitism and his (non) stance on brexit

Fred1new - 08 Feb 2019 12:20 - 81494 of 81564

Manuel.

Are you a member of the "smear party"?

cynic - 08 Feb 2019 12:36 - 81495 of 81564

nope .... just a reader of the news

poor little fred really doesn't like it when someone has the temerity to criticise his hero, but happy enough to dish it out to all and sundry on the tory side

required field - 11 Feb 2019 20:53 - 81496 of 81564

Just a quick mention for : Mr Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac : wishing a good recovery.....those guitar solos for the Fleet were fantastic...I think it was the Mirage tour.... ….needs an extended version released…..

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 12:14 - 81497 of 81564

Not in Cornwall but take care down there George as the rumour is that all 3 were Tory voters ):-

Only a half-wit would consider the murder of three elderly men as something to joke about.

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 16:06 - 81499 of 81564

The only joke on here is you Scoby.

Extremely poor taste Stan
